52 Fortune or Colamity?

The silence ensued as everyone stared in disbelief. Li Yan was perplexed, doubtful, and vigilant. The situation had changed completely and she was caught off guard. 

Li Yan had sensed the old monk's extraordinary disposition when she happened to witness the interaction between him and the guards outside the mansion. 

Seeing his appearance, she immediately knew that the man was a Confucius scholar. Knowing that the monks of the temple were famed for their extraordinary skill in medicine, she had invited him inside. She was an optimistic woman but Shijie hadn't woken up in four months and so she was willing to hold on to even a strand of hope amidst despair. 

But now the scholar was claiming to be Grandmaster Wu Chen! This was simply too difficult to believe but somehow Li Yan's heart instinctively couldn't deny it completely either.
