Chapter 7

"This seems like a remnant of Lowian's teachings. You actually lied to me?"

"How can this be?" The decrepit man lamented, his shock transforming into a cajoling expression.

"Even if it's from Lowian's teachings, it undoubtedly belongs to Sir Rookmanst, a rank 2 Magus. Two years ago, a similar fragment was sold for 700 magic crystals. How about I sell it to you at that price?"

Ron shook his head, "Lowian's teachings are written in an advanced-coded language. Only an official Magus can decipher it. Ordinary acolytes wouldn't stand a chance."

"Furthermore, even though the content is encoded, the page numbers are in the Angema language to obfuscate it further," Ron pointed at the page number at the bottom.

"Look at this, it's only page 12! According to my estimation, the first 30 pages of Lowian's teachings contain only records of his experiments and insights from his time as an acolyte. It was only after becoming an official Magus and encountering an inheritance that he displayed incredible talent. For this page to be so overpriced, it should have a page number beyond 100 to be believable."

"Transactions among Magi assume that the exchanged goods are of equal value. Your deteriorated page is not worth 700 magic crystals. In my estimate, 70 is the highest it's worth."

The old man tried to put up a front but eventually gave in to Ron's unwavering gaze.

"Alright, I didn't expect to encounter such an erudite scholar! Take your pick."

"No need, I'll just take this," Ron decided, purchasing the scroll.

"Okay," Ron proceeded to the higher-level market with ten High-level Magic Crystals as proof of his status, heading towards the slave market.

Ron intended to spend about two years in Extreme Night Town and decided to purchase slaves. They had been raised or controlled by Magi, assuring better security and functionality.

"Sir, what do you think? Do you need a female slave for your bed? These are all of high quality, some even of noble birth," a slave trader approached as Ron walked by. He displayed a group of female slaves, one of whom had an enticing aura.

Ignoring the tempting offer, Ron expressed his need for Knight-level guards and assistants for his experiments. The trader suggested premium slaves, tailored to Ron's requirements, given that such customers were of strength.

Following the trader, Ron reached a tent housing premium goods, introduced to Dylan, a friend of the trader. After a brief discussion, Dylan revealed that he understood Ron's needs.

In a white-colored tent filled with incense to mask the odor of the slaves and their surroundings, Ron evaluated some muscular individuals, while the AI chip scanned their stats. He bought two Knight-level slaves and received scorpion-like devices needed to control them.

Dylan also presented a maid, who had received extensive training and consumed the Mandara Flower's essence to counteract the radiation from a Magus. Her lifespan was significantly reduced to only 30 years.

Upon exiting, two Knights, two female slaves, and the maid followed Ron. He named the two Knights Greem and Fraser, the red-haired female slave Rede, and the black-haired female slave Shera. The beautiful maid received the name Anna.

As his new subordinates saluted him, Ron instructed Greem to purchase a horse carriage and supplies for their journey. His recent reduction of luggage allowed him to fit everything in a knapsack. He also abolished his camping items.

"Also, don't call me Sir from now on, Young Master will do," Ron ordered.

"We obey!" The five subordinates kneeled.

Young Master!" Greem presented the money purse back to Ron.

"No need for further discussion," Ron replied, handing the money purse to Anna, who would manage their finances. He removed his disguise and entered the carriage, with the three ladies accompanying him.

"Let's set off towards Eastwoods Province!" Ron commanded.
