29 Pandora Pt.4

The battle that raged across Pandora was swift and decisive. Without their Imperial Knights and the main defenses of the capital, the low-tech that the Knight World possessed was unable to withstand the full might of the 1st Fleet.

The Na'vi tried to get their Imperial Knights back under their control but air strikes on their lightly armored vehicles that attempted to approach each base destroyed all hopes of that, only widening the gap in military power as they broke of chunks of their main army themselves.

The most unfortunate thing about the entire matter is when the Na'vi wished to surrender. All of their military walked in front of the main city gates with their hands above their heads and naked from the torso up, revealing that they carried no weapons.

The Grey Knights also made sure to escort all the Na'vi civilians out of the main gates and mix them in with the army.

And that was when the slaughter really began.

Lasguns, bolters, flamers, bombs. Everything was thrown at the crowd of Na'vi. Whether they were a man, woman, or child, none were spared from the wrath of the Grey Knights.

The Na'vi had already proven that if they had gotten the opportunity, they would rebel against those that ruled above them. What they thought Baldur was doing by taking them away from their native planet may have seemed cruel in their eyes but it was the only mercy he could give them. As long as they tried to stay on Pandora, the risk of rebellion was present and so they could only be executed since they did.

Baldur knew well about the threats of not properly ending a bloodline. It would always come back and bite one in the ass. So each Na'vi that they could find in the major cities were killed while the rest fled into the forests of the planet.

"Shall we pursue them?" one of the lieutenants of the Thousand Sons asked Baldur

Baldur shook his head indifferently.

"We can't do all the work for the Pandorans. We shall leave them some work for when we depart," Baldur informed the man before getting onto Predator tank and heading toward the city.

---

A nearly bald man looked at the 3 Grey Knights standing in front of him again before he turned back to his family. He could see the nervousness on his children's face while his wife tried to calm them but he could tell that even she was scared. Anyone would be when they saw the Space Marines put down several Na'vi and cover the front of their house in Na'vi guts.

"W-Wh-What do you all want?" Oliver asked for the 17th time over the past 24 hours. The only way he could calm his family was to find out what they wanted but each time they responded with the same line.

"Our Primarch has told us to secure you. You will know why when the time comes," one of them would say, taking turns to decide who would say it each time. It was the one with symbols on their right shoulder that time.

Oliver and his family would have to wait another 3 hours before they finally received a different answer. And it came in the form of a man covered in silver armor but not wearing a helmet like the others. Two large weapons were strapped to his back, each one taller than Oliver himself.

"You're Oliver Quinn?" the man asked, but Oliver was sure that he already knew the answer to the question

"Yes, Sir. How may I help you?" Oliver felt the words come out his mouth but he didn't think about the words. It was like he instinctually knew how to answer the question.

"The Na'vi took over 6 years ago. Before that, you were the mayor here, correct?" the man asked another question

"Yes, Sir. I served as the mayor for 3 years before we were forced to abdicate our positions as the Na'vi took over," Oliver explained, only looking down at the man's armor-covered feet.

"Good. And from the reports my agents have gathered, you didn't do a bad job of it. Congratulations, you are now the High Duke of Pandora and my vassal," the man informed of his new position with gleeful words but there was no change in tone, his voice still cool.

Even still, Oliver could not believe it. After 6 years of being oppressed and living in fear, some men appeared out of nowhere before killing the Na'vi and freeing their world. Not only that, he had even made him the High Duke of the planet.

Oliver immediately fell to his knees and prostrated before the man in silver.

"It would be my honor, Sir! May I know thy name?" Oliver asked respectfully

"Baldur Canek," Baldur replied before standing up. "We have killed most of the Na'vi while forcing the few that remain into whatever hiding spots they have found. You are to ensure that they are all exterminated by the time we return."

"Yes, Sir! Your will shall be done!" Oliver agreed, not even asking for the exact time limit. His savior and benefactor had given him a task. He would do his upmost to complete it.

"Good. I shall also be taking most of the Imperial Knights with me but I shall leave you 3. One Castigators and two Crusaders," since they were now his vassals, Baldur didn't mind leaving them with a few knights but until they earned some accomplishments, he would only give them the bare minimum to help defend themselves

"Thank you, Sir!" Oliver thanked Baldur once more as he watched Baldur and his 3 Grey Knights walk out the door, not even caring that they had damaged it. In his mind, he was already planning on expanding every door on Pandora to allow their saviors and new ruler to fit through easily

Baldur left a squad of 12 Grey Knights and 50 Knights in order to help assist Oliver in securing his position and power on the planet, though he was sure that few would try to go against Baldur's orders after seeing what his army was capable of.

So after loading up his forces and the new Imperial Knights, Baldur's fleet took off to pick up their first detachment of the Imperial Military and Navy.
