1 Ninja's Quarrel

"Who's next?" A young girl's voice echoed through the room as a dozen bodies fall on the floor. "Seriously? If you guys can even beat a little girl like me you don't stand a chance in an actual battle".

"Hanabi!" A stern voice said

"Yes, master!" Surprised by her mentor's sudden appearance, Hanabi stood straight and bowed

"Being boastful about your skills will only lead you to your downfall." He spoke with a harsh voice scolding Hanabi for her behaviour

"But master! What I said was the truth. I have always surpassed my peers. I don't think I should be scolded for stating mere facts!" Hanabi explained while clenching her fists

"....." An awkward silence filled the room. No one dared to speak. Hanabi just talked back to the Supreme Grandmaster, her own mentor. The other ninjas didn't even dare to look at the situation occurring in front of them and just stared dumbfounded at the ground.

"I am very sorry master. I didn't mean to be rude. I will think about my actions from now on." Hanabi said, clearly embarrassed and regretting what she said

"Very well. You may go home and rest" The Grandmaster said as he turned around facing the door

"B-But it's too early for me to-" Hanabi paused, recalling something very important

"If you remember, tomorrow is a special day. You should save your energy" And just like that, he left the training building.

Tomorrow was the day the Scarlet sect and Shadow sect introduced their best ninja to each other and have them battle for the first time. Hanabi was representing the Scarlet sect, chosen and mentored by the Supreme Grandmaster himself.

The next day came the two sectors met in the middle of a field at noon. Hanabi was standing infront of a handsome tall boy with black hair and sharp eyes. The tension between them becoming unbearable.

As the match began Hanabi dashed quickly to attack the boy but he easily dodged.

The boy ran behind Hanabi, kicking her feet causing her to lose balance and fall to the ground.

"He's fast" Hanabi thought to herself, surprised at her opponent's skill in combat

Hanabi got back to her feet and aimed for his stomach but once again the boy blocked the attack with his arm. Every time Hanabi charged, he would always dodge. The match finished with the the boy uttering the words "I hope we can battle again soon."

Hanabi dropped to the ground in awe, "...I lost...?"

Later in the evening, Hanabi kept traning till her limbs became numb, knuckles becoming red and her energy quickly draining

"I didn't get to ask his name..."

Hanabi was always a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield. Her agility combined with her natural talent in fighting resulted in her peers fearing to fight her. Just now ,that Hanabi experienced the loss and agony of defeat.
