Divine Sky College

"Listen, Lod, you can still choose not to go. Don't you want to go to the academy to study next year?" Mother said to Lod. Even though she was sad, she was not trying to force her son.

"Mom, don't worry too much. I just want to see how it works, that is all. If it is not possible to become a celestial, I will just return to the village in a year," Lod said as he packed his clothes and books in the bedroom.

Chief was silent the whole time; he was sitting in the hall listening to his son's words. Those celestials gave them two hours to pack and bid farewells. They only get a chance to meet again after a year.

Mother sighed heavily and shook her head, "It is very dangerous. Celestials don't hesitate to kill us, commoners. You know that too." She still didn't want to give up. She didn't want her son to get killed by them.

Lod only smiled, his silence speaking volumes. He walked out, knelt, and kowtowed. "I bid farewell, Mom, Dad. Take care." His voice boomed as an old man entered. "You too should take care of yourself, Grandpa." Seeing his grandfather, he smiled.

The grandfather, eyes wise with experience, nodded. "You should take care of yourself too. This is going to be a hard journey for you." He didn't even try to stop Lod. He knew that once Lod got to understand the reality, he would return here.

Chief nodded and helped Lod to get up. "I don't know what they are trying to take you with them. This is very suspicious, son. If you sense anything wrong, just run away." He patted on his shoulders.

Lod nodded; he already knew that. How could a big college like Divine Sky College lack workers? But he still chooses to go there to try his luck because of many reasons. He felt that there was no harm going there. Also if they wanted to harm them, they would have just kidnapped them.

After some more time, Mother took out a paper where she drew their family. Whenever she got time, she used to draw. Now she took the family drawing and gave it to Lod.

"If you feel alone in the college, look at this and remember that you have a family here waiting for you," she said with a smile and hugged him. He nodded, placed the drawing in his pocket, and promised.

"I will, Mom."

"Time to leave." Celestial in the middle said in a low voice, but everyone in the village heard and came out of their houses. It was night time and moonlight fell on them as the people who wanted to work in college gathered in space. A total of 23 members were willing, some were young, and some were middle-aged. Those four looked at the group and nodded, they didn't show any expression on their faces.

Everyone in the village watched as a rainbow-colored cloud started to form under the group and carried them through the air following behind the four celestials. The village was silent the whole night, Lod's parents were also silent and hoped their son would be safe.

On the cloud, every villager gasped because of the cloud and how they were moving very fast. Since they all know each other and started talking about how they would live and all. Those four celestials ignored them and didn't even bother themselves to stop them from chatting.

Lod was sitting beside a middle-aged man who was his father's age. His name was Blurd, a farmer. He actually very much wanted to leave that small village but never got the chance and money to leave. But out of nowhere, this opportunity came, so he didn't want to lose it.

"Uncle Blurd, if you come here, what about Aunt Bexe and Kab?" he asked him.

"Even without me, they can live a good life for some years. I felt I don't need to worry about it" Blurd said, he worked his whole life. Even though he didn't save a mountain of money, he had enough for two to live well for some years.

Lod sighed, there were many like Blurd in the group.

"Lod, do you believe commoners like us can become celestial? I never heard of it" another young man beside Lod asked.

"I have no answer to that question. We should ask them that, but I think we can still try! So what if we can't do it?" Lod declared, that he not only saying it to them but to himself as well.

"Indeed," the young man nodded, his name was Eman. 24 years old living alone in the village, but left behind everything he owned and came here.

While they talking to themselves, time passed and a few hours later they came close to Divine Sky College.

"What…"

"This… unbelievable"

In front of them, there were endless buildings and people. They couldn't see the end of the landscape and they were in the sky! People were moving fast and slow, but no one even spared a single graze towards them. They only salute the four celestials and flow away.

They were still in a daze as four of them took them into the servants' section. Everyone in the servants section noticed them and gathered around.

'Sigh'

Suddenly a sigh echoed in the minds of 23 people who snapped them out of daze.

"What was that?!"

"I felt someone spoke in my mind?"

"Yeah… I felt that too"

Everyone who came out of shock was shocked again.

"Heard voice in your mind?" four celestials who were about to drop them asked, they didn't hear any sound.

"Yes." Everyone in the group nodded.

Those four looked at each other's faces. "Anyway, this is where you will be living. Work hard" they said and the cloud came to the ground and left them in the servants' section. Those four left without looking back at them.

Lod looked around and saw a very unfamiliar place and people. Never in his life, has he left the village. So seeing so many buildings and people made him a little uncomfortable.

"Hello everyone." An old man spoke calmly, he was so old almost everyone could see he was surrounded by an aura of death. He wore brown clothes which were for servants in the college.

"My name is, Fang Robb, I am the head of the servants section. I thank you all for coming here. Follow me, I take you to the place you will be living" he said and turned around.

Everyone looked at each other and followed him. Other servants were silent and just watched them leave without making a sound. They were not being hostile nor they were showing any hospitality. They were just neutral in their actions.

While walking the old man explained rules and important details to them. It was indeed a big college. Even servants' had separate school where they could try to learn how to become celestials. If anyone had enough talent they would give a test and officially become a student of the college.

Lod's eyes and everyone's eyes started to glow when they heard the old man's words. They came here to see the outside world and… try to become celestials. Everyone had their own thing to do here.

"School starts in the morning after work and goes on for 3 hours. You shouldn't miss it" the old man said with a smile that was not a smile when he saw the glow in their eyes. "Anyway this is where you will be living now" he pointed at the three store building.

They entered the building and saw that no one was in the building. It was built with a material they had never seen before! It was not some mud and cement.

"This whole building is for you, choose a room and stay in there. Now I am taking my leave. If you have any questions come to my cabin. Goodnight!" The old man said and moved away from there.
