5 Plans and Pimento: Part One

Waking up Next to Alex was Amazing. She slept adorably her makeup had smeared on my chest a bit and she had bedhead but she couldn't have looked more I don't know... Natural. It was at least as attractive as she had been at the bar if not more. It was only six a.m. so I gave her time to rest and got to work on breakfast constantly checked on her so she didn't wake up I cooked with magic.

Flipping bacon, Cracking eggs and pancakes with wandless magic I bet it would have been easier to just use a spatula but I'm getting better I can flip three pieces of bacon at the same time. I hear her stirring it has bit around 7:30 as the smell of a hot breakfast reaches the corners of the apartment. It's such a beautiful day maybe I should tell her about magic this morning.

I mean she is trusting me to go to her grandfather's wake which is really intimate. I put it onto a plate and put it on a breakfast-in-bed tray with some orange slices. I walk in to see her on her phone sitting up when she sees me she looks shocked that I'm bringing her breakfast in bed.

"G'morning," I Say as I Put it down next to her and give her a light kiss on the forehead. Her grandfather's wake isn't until around Three PM. She gives me a smile and reciprocates the sentiment. She pulls the tray from the table beside her into her lap and starts to eat and I'm trying not to stare but she made it really hard she starts moaning from the food which was Hilarious.

"Are you sure you're not a professional Chef?" She asks as she practically licks the plate clean. After she's done she puts on a serious face and leans forwards and drops the tray to the side of the bed.

"The project your starting..."She started then stopped finding the words then after a few seconds she continues," Do you want me on it because of this or...?" She motions at the bed and plate.

I take a second to answer this is one of those types of questions that women ask that they don't realize is a mind field if I say no then she might think that I just want her for her mind and the last two weeks were my way of stealing her from her company If I say yes then she could think I'm just using her for her beauty. The Truth is that I think that she would be a great asset I think she's amazing both body and mind. I don't see a way out of this without being completely honest she won't trust me otherwise.

"I want you to work with me because I think you are brilliant just listening to your mind work in regular conversation is a privilege but I think it would be great to work alongside of you. I was hoping that you would work on this with me because its kind of a side project of a much bigger more complex issue I'm working on It's a bit Secretive Right now not because I don't trust you but because it's kind of dangerous, The reason for all of this"I say as I motion towards the bedroom and food."Is because even though you are undoubtedly brilliant I think you have a nice personality your Funny and interesting, Your nice and kind when you want to be and you are strong and dependable which I really admire and that doesn't even mention that you are one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen...Though your breath is killing me"

I say the last part playfully it doesn't really stink smells like syrup even as I say it I pull her in instead of pushing her away. She playfully blows into my face as she pushes me back. I still have my legs underneath me so I'm in this awkward position with her on top of me. Not in a dirty sexual way though her face is right above mine giggling and blushing. I buck my hips and playfully push her off and roll over and now I'm on top. We have a slow kiss and a few less slow ones.

"I'll Join," She says when we settle down a bit she stands at the doorway."Are you sure about matching my salary you do realize what they paid me right?" I feel a little guilty about that question. She was signed with them for 200,000 grand a year with a 20,000 signing bonus getting her out of her contract would normally cost her her signing bonus. Though I know that I would barely have to pay anything for her to join. In a moment of whimsy.

"Yeah, Plus I'll be giving you a Starting Bonus that's double what your Hydro Dynamics paid you. You will get to design your own lab and I'll give you scouting bonuses if you complete people that are good for the project But are you ok with relocating out of Los Angeles close to secure a facility the top contender it's in Brooke, Georgia just outside of Atlanta. It's too expensive to get what I'm looking for here I need a large privatized facility working on more projects than these two a few of which will go try to positively impact the farming world but for testing, we have to have various self-sustain ecosystems on the grounds I also wanted to be self-sufficient." I say. I notice how she clearly hasn't mentioned her grandfather and I know she must be trying to compartmentalize. She probably wants to head to her apartment I know even though she is working with me she would be respectful and put her two-week notice in. I don't really like that two-week notice rule but Alex thrives on rules at my words she gains this deep contemplative look and slowly nods her head.

She starts to head out probably going to her apartment for a shower and change of clothes.

"I'll be back in a little, I have some people in mind, that would be perfect for the project I'll make some calls," She tells me. As She Starts to head out I get a call and I look over at her before I answer.

"What color is a school bus?" I say to her then put my phone to my ear."Yellow" She turns away with an exhasperated sigh but I can see a tiny smile pull at her lips.

"Hello, Mr. Swift Sir," A high pitched female voice says on the other side."Mr. Grier wants to finalize the purchase of the facility in person at 10:00 today will you be available."

The woman on the phone was a respected property broker named Ms. Koffner that usually handles sales between large companies I had first contacted her Three days after I first woke up I actually called many property brokers but most of them didn't call me back she didn't contact me back until four days later thinking that my offer for her services was a joke. But for the last week, she had been scouring trying to find a business that fit my criteria. For 12% sale commission on what would be a 30 million dollar deal. well, let's just say, 3.6 million dollars really put some pep in her step. She struck gold with the property nearly immediately. The only instruction I'd really given her was I wanted it to be as close to self-Sustaining as possible. The cost of an acre in Georgia in 2011 was 12,000 so I overpaid a bit but I also got all of the buildings on the property that Mr.Grier had bought.

The grounds Were in a clearing in a thickly wooded area kind of in the boonies but Access to a major interstate was 1500 acres. There was a small lake on the property that took up half the Property. There was already a 50-acre farm on the property that Mr.Grier Honestly depending on this meeting if he seemed nice and instead of asking him to vacate I'd ask him to instead work with a few botanists to optimize his farm and to have him clear another 150 acres to grow it further. If it was done right 2 acres if specially calculated 2 acres was enough to feed a family of four true self-sustainability isn't really possible but if I had 400 people on the property I could use 150 acres to feed people and 50 acres for trading. That would probably be the first six months to a year after that It'll probably need to expand if we were to bring more people but the land is perfect for that and the wall will go around the entire property so it should be fine. My budget for it was 5 million but I knew It would at most run me three for the agricultural Id maybe need 5 people to work the land.

The main reason I bought the land was that included 30 Semi- abandoned Catskills resorts vacation homes, but there was so much more there was an old hospital and brewery on the grounds. The resort had lasted until the early 90s before it went bankrupt the owner had to sell and the new buyer Mr. Grier bought it for a pittance of what it was worth He believed that the reason it failed was because of lack of access He fought to get a highway built near the grounds of his land for 15 years so more people would have access to it. As soon as the highway was built, he refurbished most of the building and homes on the property and while he did succeed eventually he flushed the rest of his money into opening it back up when he reopened, he was met with the cruel reality that the Catskills business model wouldn't work with the family-based clientele anymore with most families wanting to visit more exotic places on family vacations. He was able to keep it afloat a few years but now was scarily close to bankruptcy. So, 30 semi-large vacation homes with enough room to fit two families. I could have them outfitted to solar power inside of two money alongside. Other than that I had plans to Build a sturdy 15 Foot Wall set in concrete That took six hours' worth of calls The initial outlook turned out that for 1500 acres that's a six-mile perimeter. I had to hire 4 different construction teams for 10 million dollars a piece to have it done within 2 months and I need it like that because I need to install the surveillance cameras, perimeter alarms motion detectors, and wards.

The land I bought had a large old hospital that shut down 10 years ago Ms.Koffner had made some calls to a respected and reliable construction and renovation company that said they would turn it into a state-of-the-art facility within two months. They were expensive though They wanted 60 million dollars for such a rushed job after everything was done with it would be it would sort of be modeled after wake University tech facility but a little bit less since I want to keep some of the old hospital elements. That got her a million-dollar scouting bonus. After settling the deal Ms. Koffner made a deal to install backup generators in each building on the property. She also made a deal with a solar Installation company I knew that to operate everything I'd only really only need About an acre of solar panels but I got 2 acres for just under a million dollars.

My plans for the brewery were to change them into barracks/ training grounds. The training grounds will need a shooting gallery and archery range. I would also put all my transportation I planned to get three helicopters( 2 Million a piece) at least 4 buses for quick evacuation (500k a piece) 10 standard vehicles(500K altogether) 2 18-wheelers for large transportation(100k a piece) 3 tanks( A tank took down the prison better have and not need than need and have not 1.5 million), And I would get Six boat fishing boats (20,000 a piece) and an 80-foot yacht (800,000 I know It's only a 750-acre lake but who doesn't want a yacht) for the lake, for gas, I would need to buy 20 fuel trucks for(12500 a pop plus 12,000 to fill them plus 550 bottles of fuel stabilizers to keep fresh for two years) each can hold 3500 gallons even if a hundred people are using a full tank a week we'd be fine for 550,000 dollars.

I know Someone In my position would usually buy The underground tanks but those are 50 grand I may have money now but I still have my poor sensibilities plus it would be easier to leave in a hurry with a truck if the facility falls apart. Plus all the houses will need gas for backup generators. I may be able to use one to save the CDC At least long enough to get all the research on the virus it could be helpful to have so my team that I will have will be able to add on to their research and maybe make immunization if not a cure. I had made some inquires and near the Brewery I planned to build a modest motel near the old brewery some they are pretty inexpensively built and depending on how many rooms it would be a perfect place to bunker down in emergency situations. It only cost about 3.5 million to make a 40 room motel but under the circumstances I end up throwing 15 million at the project for two major reasons one the time to build the motel and two the security of the motel under dire circumstances the motel, the brewery, and the hospital will turn into bunkers. The size will be enough to keep all residents of the oasis in even though it would be a bit crowded 60 rooms, 3 stories built in 2 months.

Speaking of necessities I was looking into buying for 4 million a small security firm that only had 600 employees only 200 or so maybe more or less would choose to relocate going off their personnel files, and even if they do about half will insist on leaving when the apocalypse hits I'd have to choose those with no ties and protect myself if they decide to pull a military card and start acting they are the boss like the military in fear the walking dead. It would be good to have some protection though I would only take maybe 30-60 It will be much better to have someone who is battle-hardened from the outside when everything happened don't want to end up like Alexandria where pretty much everyone that was there before rick and his squad shows up ends up dead. I see the budget for that at 10 Million for the facility for getting people to relocate.

The brewery is a godsend though their storage facilities will be perfect for the ridiculous amount of supplies I'm going to hoard for the next two months. the plan is to get a 5-year supply of food that would last 25 years enough for 400 people It will cost 20 million. 15 million budget for toiletries will be enough for two years for 400 people. That seems like a lot but toilet paper alone is 3.5 million a year for 400 people.

The only thing left in my initial plans was surveillance and landscaping. The surveillance budget would be 15 million no cutting corners on that There would also be proximity sensors to tell where anyone is coming from. Landscaping I sat at 12 million which was pretty expensive but for the level of speed I was asking 600 acres of work in 2 months and I was paying for their discretion as well I wanted to be able to walk down to the farm on a well-lit path. I could see it now this place would be a true oasis if my plans go the way I hope. I would spend the last 55 million making last-minute changes and collecting personnel and any other supplies, Guns and ammo, Bows arrows, crossbows, knives, explosives, and other gear that will be important. I also found the nearest ammo manufacturing machine it's about 15. It's unessesary now but I could

I'm Going over my plans in my head and don't realize that Ms. Koffner is waiting for my reply.

"Babe, They are calling me about the facility if everything goes well we can start construction on Friday. Can we Meet around 3 At the bar for a drink before we go to your parents?" I ask her

"Yeah can't wait I have some work to do too," She smiles and gives me a kiss on the cheek since I have the phone still on the side of my head. Probably happy that I asked her before I made any hard plans.

"Ms. Koffner I would love to meet with him at ten.," I tell her.
