Waking in the world of Teyvat

Mathias Emmit, a 26 year old male, multi-talented Omni-vert is suddenly stricken with depression. Struggling to enjoy life, Mathias finds comfort in one last activity. Sleep. Before to long he begins having a reoccurring night terror , where he falls from some enormous structure only to wake up screaming right before hitting the ground. Mathias’ life is forever changed when one night during his night terror… he doesn’t wake up, instead he breaks through the ground as if it were glass and is greeted by some unnamed entity. The Entity explains that Mathias died in his sleep. Heart attack. And his soul was stuck from passing on. The Entity mentions that there is a way out of his situation, but with a condition. The entity could only send his soul into another realm’s life-death cycle. Upon agreeing to the Entity’s terms, Mathias is sent with a few ‘blessings’ to the realm of Teyvat, a world of magic and monsters. However this ‘benevolent’ entity is a befallen god. A god of chaos. A god of chaos with a grudge against the ‘Usurper’ of Teyvat and her heavenly principles. With a new name and body to go with his new life, what has Mathias un-willingly agreed to? What perils await him in a world with living gods? *** DISCLAIMER! *** I do not own rights to Genshin Impact, nor it’s characters. Chapter: The Girl in White.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

After sitting against the mystical angel-

like statue I felt my eyes growing ever so

weary, and was unable to fight the

compelling urge to rest. Then a profound

sense of safety washed over me, if I didn't

know any better I would think it was some

sort of magical influence the statue

possessed. What ever the case, this warm

safe feeling was comparable only too being

held in a lover's embrace. I'll surrender

myself to this compelling sleep… and in the

morning… To Mondatadt!

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

The timid tangerine sun peaked over

the ocean amidst the cotton like clouds just

beyond the falcon coast, tolling the start of

a new day. For some, it was just a regular

day. for others, adventure beckoned

turning them into stalwart adventurers. But

for Mathias, this was the first day waking up

in Teyvat.

For the first time in a long time, Mathias awoke

not to the sound of his own screams…. But to

the songs the birds chirped, and the rush of

running water.… Aside from being back in his

teenage body, and being sent to another world,

a peaceful rest was the best thing to happen to

him! Ready to face the new day Mathias

stood up, dusting blades of grass from

his pants. He raised his arms above his

head interlocking his fingers; then

quenched his insatiable need to stretch as

he tightened the muscles in his abdomen

followed by his lower back. From the bottom

he contracted the lower and mid section of

his back, then retracting his shoulders, and

pinching his shoulder blades together.

~Ssck~

The center of his torso let out a soothing

crack, which led to mathias leaning as far to

the left as he could then right

~sk~khk~khk~khk~

A few of His vertebrae followed suit,

crackling as he stretched.

"That's. What. I'm. Talking about!" He

exclaimed full of vigor, looking northwest

towards the supposed city of Mondstadt.

With some pep in his step Mathias

made his way towards the hills, jogging

passed the statue to the dirt road that

looked too lead where Mathias was

heading.

He walked the trail and saw an assortment

of birds, some flocking together,

others searching for their morning meal. He

also saw a small reddish-orange fox like

creature, that wandered onto the dirt trail.

"Hey there lil' fella" He softly greeted, slowing

his pace to a sloth's crawl.

As soon as the fox like creature noticed

Mathias, it scurried away, dashing in a

serpentine pattern.

"Ya, I don't blame you." Mathias rhetorically

remarked to himself as he continued onward.

Taking in his surroundings as he walked the

trail, Mathias began hearing a whirling

noise. To his ears it sounded like an

industrial fan spooling up. Then for a split

moment there was silence, followed by a

blast of air.

"The hell is that?" He wondered.

With his curiosity piqued yet again, Mathias

turned his leisurely walk into a brisk jog.

He followed the intermittent whirling sound

off the trail, past a few hearty trees.

indistinguishable chatter could be heard

coming from in-front of him.

Before too long, two figures came into

view; The first was that of a floating child-

sized person with whitish hair wearing a

gold hemmed white bodysuit with black

streaks stylishly strewn across, paired with

white boots. The other… a dazzling, petite,

blonde haired young women who wore a

white slit skirt with blue trim, white stockings

and boots to match.

Mathias was absolutely captivated by

the young blonde women; so much so, that

he hadn't realized he had stopped jogging

and was now idly starring.

He observed the young blonde

women brace herself, assuming a long

stance, a meter between the heel of one

foot and the toes of the other. Resting her

weight on her hips and knees, she raised

her left hand, palm open. The young women

took in a deep breath and held it as she

narrowed her brows focusing her

concentration. Bracing the raised arm, the

young women held her forearm and exhaled

sharply. Curling her fingers, the young

women tried to catch the wind! As if it were

an orb that fit her hand

~vrrmmshs!~

Amidst her palm, the wind swirled like a

vortex, pulling everything within a short

distance in-front of her, towards her.

She held the vacuum like vortex for about 6-

seconds before it dispersed, and she

collapsed to the ground on her knees,

exhaustingly panting.

"Hey! You did it!" The flying child-like figure

squeaked, praising the young women.

Out of breath, the collapsed young women

nodded her head, acknowledging the praise

of her floating companion.

Mathias overcame his awestruck, and

slowly began to approach. He tried to

quietly reveal his presence; as to not alarm

them. However, his cautious antics would

work against him; when he carelessly

fell for thee oldest of stealth clichés… the

thunderous: twig snap.

With his attention ahead of where he was

walking mathias failed to notice the plethora

of sticks and twigs that littered the

wilderness.

~Snap!~

He instantly froze, the sound alone had petrified

his muscles.

"!!!"

The young women and her floating

companion instinctively turned their

attention towards the sound that interrupted

the peaceful ambiance.

With no difficulty The young women saw

Mathias standing amongst the flourishing

shrubs and sprouting trees.

Her gaze met his.

It just occurred to Mathias just how

suspicious his approach seemed, and tried

salvaging the situation before it became

disastrous.

Mathias reflexively raised his empty hands

to his chest, bending at the elbows. It's a

gesture mathias found himself often using

back in his old world, which meant: I mean

you no harm. As he walked out of the

wooded area and into open view.

The young women's floating companion

shrieked as mathias entered into open view

"Eek! A TREASURE HOARDER!!… No, wait he

doesn't look like your run-of-the-mill bandit…"

The young women nodded in agreement as

she staggered to her feet.

Mathias didn't retain anything the floating

companion said, he couldn't get past how

SHE sounded like a toddler… no! A child.

"Hhhhhuh?! Paimon thinks he could be part

of the Fatui!!!" The floating child companion

shockingly exclaimed, flying behind the

young women.

"Be careful Lumine!" She added softly from

over the young women's shoulder
