4 Chapter 4

"Thank you for saving our country, my lord!"

I release a sigh and rub the bridge of my nose before looking at the man in front of me.

"Tell me who you are and why you call me Lord?"

He straightens when I address him, beads of sweat forming on his brow under my gaze.

"My name is Silas Paulakis, my lord! The reason I address you as such is because of your title as Campione!"

"Ah, I see," I reply, rubbing the back of my head as a headache begins to throb.

"You're welcome, I suppose. I happened to be in the area when she decided to attack me, so I had no choice but to defeat her."

"I understand. Um… May I know the identity of the Goddess you killed, my lord?"

I raise an eyebrow at him skeptically. "And give you insight into the power I've gained?"

I'm already aware of the authority bestowed upon me as a Campione, granted by Hecate, and its role in returning me to my previous world, as Cyl informed me.

He shakes his head fearfully. "Of course not, my lord! We would never presume such a thing! We simply need the deity's name recorded so that should another Heretic God descend, we can narrow down their identity."

I regard him for a moment before a new Divine Protection manifests—[Divine Protection of Anti-Deception], granting me the ability to discern lies from those I converse with. It confirms the man's sincerity.

"Very well. Hecate is the Goddess I killed."

"Thank you very much, my lord. Please inform us if there is anything else we can do for you."

"Could you arrange a hotel room for me? I'm quite fatigued and could use some rest."

"Of course, my lord! Please wait a moment while we take care of everything. Follow me, and I'll escort you to the car."

I nod, following him to the vehicle he arrived in. With a sigh, I close my eyes. Today has been overwhelming. I need to unwind before addressing this issue further.

|3rd POV|

"Silas. How is it?"

Silas looks at the old man next to him and releases a sigh.

"It is not good but not bad either. He did not say anything other than the name of the Heretic God he killed, which is Hecate, the Goddess of Magic, Crossroad, and Ghost. The bad news is that we did not know what kind of person he was. He only says that he needs to sleep and will talk to us tomorrow morning."

"I see. Does that mean his highness obsession is laziness?"

Each Campione has an obsession that defines them. Sasha Dejanstahl Voban, the oldest living Campione, has an obsession with hunting. He only wants to hunt strong prey and nothing else. Luo Hao, the second Campione, has an obsession with martial arts. She declares that she is the embodiment of Martial Arts. Madame Aisha, the third Campione, has an obsession with helping people. She even breaks the law of time to help people in need. Alexander Gascoigne, the fourth Campione, has an obsession with stealing something. He will go around the world to steal what he fancies. John Pluto Smith, the fifth Campione, has an obsession with Justice. They will go around their country playing masked vigilantes. Salvatore Doni, the sixth Campione, has an obsession with swords. He will challenge anyone he deems strong to a fight to prove that he is stronger than them. Godou Kusanagi, the seventh Campione, has an obsession with being normal. He still thought that he could live a normal life with his title as Campione.

Silas shakes his head and says.

"I did not know. It would be great if his obsession were laziness, but I have a feeling it is not."

"Right. Then please take care of him for now. We will make sure to take care of the problem here."

"Then I shall inform the hotel to prepare their best room for him."

"You do that."

Silas nods and takes out his phone. After a couple of minutes of talk, the room will be ready in a few minutes. Just in time when they arrive.

He returns to his car and sees Reinhard closing his eyes. He is careful not to wake Campione, but sadly for him, Reinhard opens his eyes.

"Are we going to the hotel now?"

"Ah, I am sorry to wake you up, my lord. Yes. We are ready to take you to the hotel."

"Don't worry about it. Also, I want to ask you a few questions regarding your group while we are on our way."

"Of course, my lord! I am more than happy to answer your question!"

Reinhard nods his head and says.

"What is the name of your organization?"

"We are called the Silver Aspis, my lord. We are the only mage association that stays in Pylos. We take care of any supernatural problem in the area."

"Oh? Are there a lot of supernatural problems around here?"

"Yes and no. Depending on the day, my lord. There is a Grimoire at the bottom of the sea, not too far away from here, and it summons a Kraken every now and then."

"Why not take the Grimoire or destroy it?"

"We cannot do that, my lord. This Grimoire is Divine in nature. We cannot destroy it in a normal manner. Not only that but as it is at the bottom of the ocean, it is also at its peak power. That means the protection around it prevents us from getting closer, or we will get cursed and die."

"Right. I don't mind taking care of the problem for you guys. However, in return, I will claim this city as mine."

Reinhard says that in a joking manner. He only wants a foundation for his base, like a house or something, but he does not know that Silas takes that seriously.

"Of course, my lord! We are more than happy to have Your Highness as our king!"

Reinhard can only look at Silas in shock and can only nod his head. He will not reject their willingness to serve if they offer their service. At least he now has someone to help him if his first try fails.
