12 Chapter 12

I look at the people busy reconstructing the building and ensure nothing is out of place so the civilians can return to their lives. The fight between Sobek and me is more destructive than the time I fought Hecate. I fought her in a relatively empty location and did not cause too much destruction as she only focused on me.

On the other hand, Sobek releases many AOE authorities that destroy the surroundings.

Speaking of Sobek, the authority I get from him is unique. It is an active and passive authority. The activate part is called [Golden Scale of Sobek], and it increases the already high durability and also creates an invisible force field that can block a weaker attack without a problem or block one very powerful attack before it gets destroyed. However, what makes it dangerous is the invisible water image that will appear next to me that mimics my movement. It has the same strength as me, and the stronger I become, the stronger the clone will be.

The passive ability of this authority is called [Lord of River]. It increases my strength, durability, and regeneration when I fight near freshwater sources like Freshwater River and Lake. It also gets my entire body to its peak once a day when I submerge my entire body inside a freshwater river and lake for ten seconds.

The only downside of this authority is that it consumes a lot of my mana every second. Normally, this authority only lasts for ten minutes at most, but because of my perk called [Inexhaustible], which makes me never run out of mana or any mystical energy like qi and spiritual energy.

I release a sigh and look at the people working. The Council of the Sands is almost done with rebuilding the destroyed city.

"I am sorry for the wait, Your Highness."

I look to the side and see Liliana, Silas, and a beautiful woman with two different hair colors. Not only that, she also has beautiful light green eyes. She gives me an apologetic smile and says,

"Thank you for asking your people to help us. Their expertise makes the process faster."

"Don't mention it."

"If there is anything you want from us for helping us, please tell me."

I look at her for a few seconds before saying.

"Magic. I want copies of all the magic books you have. Also, I want a mansion in Faiyum or at least near that area. That place is where Sobek worshiped, right? I want a mansion there."

She looks at me in surprise and hesitates for a second before saying.

"Yes, Your Highness. We shall gather all of them."

I look her in the eyes and say.

"And make sure you did not try to fool me by not giving ALL of it. I only ask for a copy, and that is enough respect I show you guys."

I might sound harsh, but I don't care. I need all the magic I can get to help me return to my sister.

I can see her get pale at my word and quickly bow her head.

"O-Of course, Your Highness! We will not dare to fool you."

"Good. You can go now."

After she leaves, Liliana looks at me and says.

"Your Highness, can I ask the reason why you are so harsh on her? I am sorry if I stepped over the line, but I know that you are not like this."

I look at her and say.

"That is because I did not like the people who watched me fighting from a distance."

"Watching you?"

"Yes. Do you see the group of people watching the fight instead of helping?"

"Ah, I know them. From their clothes and the way they put themselves, I think they are from high-ranking families."

"Yes. You might not know it, but they try to attack me while I am in a fight. They try to bind me using magic to give the Heretic God an advantage. They want to kill me. For what? I did not know."

I am lucky that I have a [Divine Protection of Binding], which gives me immunity to any binding spell. The only reason why the other did not notice was that Sobek was blaring his divinity so much that it masked the powerful spells they cast upon me.

Sobek's divinity might mask it, but I can feel how powerful that binding was, and while I don't think it can hold me, I know it can hold me for a few seconds. Enough time for Sobek to deal good damage to me.

"And it did not happen only once. It happened three times, and if not for Sobek's presence, I would have blasted them using Reid."

Silas looks at me and says,

"Should we inform them about this, Your Highness? We can punish them."

"No. I will leave this to them."

I look at the ceiling and say loudly.

"Make sure to tell your boss about this, and make sure no one is sneaking near me! I hate when someone eavesdrops on me."

A second later, a man wearing all dark clothes gets down from the ceiling and kneels in front of me.

"I am sorry, Your Highness! Thank you for your mercy."

"And this will be the last. I did not want to destroy this city after you guys rebuilt it."

He nods and says.

"I shall inform the elder."

"Also, tell them about my first warning. I want ALL magic books you guys have."

"Yes!"

"Leave"

The man quickly left the room, leaving us alone. I look at Liliana and say.

"Do you guys want to eat something? I want to cook something for the three of us."

I chuckle a little when I see Liliana drool at the mention of me cooking some food.

*PAH*

"You fool!"

An elderly man looks at the group of young men in front of him with so much anger that if anger can kill, they will die and turn into ashes. The old man takes a deep breath and shouts.

"Do you know what kind of trouble you get us into!?"

One of the more bold young men stands up and glares at the old man in front of him.

"We are only doing what is right, Elder! We did not need him! We can defeat the Heretic God and become a Campione of our own!"

After he is done saying that, the people in the room, other than the group of young men, look at them in shock and disgust. The old man looks at them in disgust, anger, and pity.

"You do all this because you want to be a Campione? You want to anger a Campione just because you want to become one yourself. Even if you manage to kill him, you cannot defeat the Heretic God! I know your power, and I know that you guys cannot even defeat the people he brought from Greece!"

The old man kicks him in the head and watches him go unconscious. The old man sneers and says.

"You cannot even stay conscious with that weak kick, and you want to fight a Heretic God? Pathetic. It is a good fortune that your attack was so pathetic that His Highness did not mind you guys attacking him."

The old man looks around and says.

"Go and gather all the magic books you guys have. We did not want him to get even more angry at us."
