10 Chapter 10

"Oceans deep, and rain that falls,"

"Heal the broken, mend the walls."

"Water, healer, in your embrace,"

"Grant wellness and peace in this space."

My hand glows a little, and I have healed the bruise on Liliana's legs. I can see my healing spells quickly heal Liliana. My healing spells are more potent than the others because of my nature as Campione. If it is a regular mage healing her, it will take a minute or two, but it is done after a few seconds when I am doing that.

"I think that should do for today's training, Liliana. You have grown stronger."

"Yes, my lord! It is thanks to you, my lord. Your teaching is easy to understand and lets me learn very fast."

That is because of my new Divine Protection called [Divine Protection of Training], which boosts all my training and anyone I train. This ability is a Godsend to me because I can learn all the spells in all Grimoire the others give to me.

Speaking of Grimoire, I can learn magic in this world because I have a magic core alongside my defective 'Gate,' the thing that lets me cast magic in the Re: Zero world.

I need to thank the company for choosing something that lets me use magic. I might have been a Drug Lord in my previous life, but I still love reading fantasy books like Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. Magic is something I want to try and use.

"That is good. Tomorrow we–"

Before I can finish my sentences, Silas runs toward me with a face full of sweat. He takes a deep breath and says.

"Your Highness! I bring bad news."

"What is it?"

"One of our allies, The Council of the Sands, asks for help."

"Why? Why do you ask me instead of sending someone there to help them?"

"Because it is a sign of a Heretic God descending to Egypt!"

Ah, that does it.

"What kind of Heretic God descended there?"

"We did not know yet. However, they say that this Heretic God has a connection with the Nile River."

"Many Gods and Goddesses are connected to that river. That description did not give us much."

I shake my head and say.

"Anyway, let's go. Tell them that I will give them help and also tell them to make sure the civilians are already evacuated. Lastly, prepare the fastest plane you can get. We cannot delay this any longer."

"Yes, Your Highness!"

I look at Liliana and say.

"Go and gather as many deities with connection to the Nile River and Egypt."

"Yes, Your Highness!"

Seeing the two of them leave me, I take a deep breath and enter my pocket dimension. I also need to prepare.

|3rd POV|

Cairo, the capital city of Egypt, looks like a graveyard, at least the area near the Nile River. All the members of the Council of the Sands are working extra hard to ensure no one gets close to the center of the city.

"Create the barrier! Make sure no one can get inside!"

The leader of the group, Hamed Koury, shouts at the people around him as he makes sure there is no hole in their barrier.

"Sir! Sir!"

"What?! Can't you see that we are busy?!"

"I am sorry, sir! However, I will bring news from the HQ!"

"What is it!?"

"The Campione have arrived and are currently driving here."

"That means they will arrive in a few minutes, huh?"

Hamed looks at the dark cloud above the river and the bubbling water not too far away from him. He releases a sigh and says.

"I just hope that they will come here before the Heretic God appears."

As if the world were mocking his wish, the water in the river shoots up to the sky, and the dark cloud gets even more intense. A second later, the water pillar exploded and let the people on the ground see a humanoid creature with the body of a human but with the head of a crocodile. He is holding a Was Scepter in his right hand and an Ankh in his left hand.

"Sobek."

That is the only thing Hamed can think of. Sobek is the God of Earth with domain over the River, Crocodile, Cycle of Life, and with a hint of God of Steel as he also has a domain as a protector of the pharaoh of the past.

"Hmph, at least you know who I am. Then you shall be grateful for the time of cleansing shall commence! Let the water of the Nile wash away the past sin!"

Sobek raises his scepter, and suddenly, the water of the Nile River rises to twenty meters high. Hamed widens his eyes and shouts.

"Barrier! Block that water!"

Hamed shouts that word and starts to chant.

"O Benevolent Tefnut! Grant us your protection! Give us the warmth of your embrace! Protect us from disaster!"

Sixty barriers appear in front of the massive water wave and block it from entering the city. They manage to block the water because it is not an authority but rather a simple order from Sobek, the Lord of the Nile River.

Sadly for them, Sobek looks at their attempt to protect the people of Cario in hatred. Madness grows in his eyes.

"You dare?! You dare to use the name of my niece to block my blessing?! How dare you?! You dare to reject my blessing?! That's it!"

Sobek raises his Ankh above his head, and it shines in power. Hamed widens his eyes and shouts.

"Run away! Run away as far as possible!"

Sobek opens his mouth and activates his authority.

"From the depths of the Nile, ancient and wide,"

"Rise, O crocodile, with your fearsome stride."

"By the power of Sobek, mighty and strong,"

"Answer my call, to where you belong."

A second later, a twenty-meter-long and five-meter-tall crocodile appeared from the Nile River. The crocodile has golden scales and fiery red eyes. Its mouth is full of teeth that rip apart even a God.

"Go! Go, my familiar! Show them the sin of their way! Let Anubis take them to Duat!"

The crocodile roars and charges at them. Hamed slams his hand on the ground and says.

"O Geb! Grant us protection! Raise the Earth to protect us! Harden the earth to halt my enemy!"

Twenty walls of earth appear in front of the golden crocodile. Hamed wants to hold the giant crocodile as much as possible while his people run to safety. Sadly, the crocodile smashes through the wall like it is made of paper.

Hamed is ready to distract the Crocodile, but he can hear a loud voice before he can even chant.

"In depths unseen, where shadows dwell,"

"Where Davy Jones's secrets swell,"

"I call upon the ancient might,"

"To bring forth terror in the night."

After the chant is over, a gigantic octopus appears from the river and grabs the crocodile who is charging at Hamed. The middle-aged man widens his eyes when he sees someone land in front of him.

Reinhard arrives after running through the streets of Cairo without waiting for the others who drive a car. Reinhard takes out his sword and looks at Hamed.

"I will take it from here. Go and rest."
