Chapter 2

Before I start my walk, I stop and look at my body. I'm wearing a simple shirt, leather armor that protects my chest, and a leather vambrace that protects my arms. I look down and see I am wearing long pants with leather gloves protecting my shin and knee.

However, no weapon is in sight, which is a problem.

I take out my phone and see if there is a map for my portal. To my surprise, there is one on my map. I searched for the nearest one, which was only a few meters away from my landing spot. I walk to that spot and see a two meters tall portal appear in front of me.

When I get inside the portal, I can see a massive building in the middle of the island floating in space. The island is around one hectare, and at the island's edge is an infinite space full of stars. It is quite beautiful, to be honest.

I shake my head and get inside the three-floor building. As I get inside, I can see it already comes with furniture complete with electronics like a TV, a computer, and a phone. If the CYOA is true, then the internet can only be used in the world with the internet, and I cannot access Earth's Internet from this world.

That means the computer will not be as useful. Oh, well. The computer is not the reason why I come here. I walk to the basement, where a giant room full of many kinds of weapons is sitting inside the room.

I smile a little, take the belt and put them around my waist. With this, I'm ready, and if something worse happens, I can take out the big gun using my company phone and blast my enemy with hot lead.

I nod and walk away from my home base. I walk to the portal and get out of my pocket dimension.

After all the preparation is done, I start following the map to Estrise. As I follow the pathway to Estrise, I hear some movement from my left. I quickly take out my sword, take a step to the left, and thrust my sword at the thing that pounces at me.

I can see now that it is a wolf and is dead from my attack. Before I can do anything, my instinct screams at me, and I quickly jump to the right. As I land, I can see three more wolves growling at me.

I dash forward and thrust my sword at one of the wolves. It dodges my attack, but before it can go far, I already move and change the direction of my sword. I quickly swing my weapon down and slice the head of the wolf.

After that, I quickly kick the corpse of the other wolves and distract the beast with it. With them distracted for a second, I dash and thrust my sword. I kill the third wolf and quickly kick the last one away before throwing my sword at it.

I can see my sword hit its target and see the last wolf fall to the ground. With them down, I take out a knife from the armory and start to skin them. As a wandering knight, Chrodechild knows how to skin a good number of animals and monsters.

Among them is the Shadow Wolves, the one I just killed. What makes them different from normal wolves? Their size and their claws.

Shadow Wolves' average height is around a meter tall, and their claws can tear apart a tree.

It takes me ten minutes to skin them all and even separate the bone and meat of the Shadow Wolf. I store the skin and meat inside my inventory and bury the bone. I get up from the ground and continue my journey.
