CHAPTER XI: Revealing Secrets and Good News

~Casimir's POV~

"How did you know that my magic force has been developed to magic pool, Lady Arriah?" I asked still not satisfied what she said earlier. Even though, I know what's magic pool.

Magic pool could be a great advantage for us knights, even those people with a class that involves in close-combat technique in fighting.

"It's the possible result from your personal trainings. Your great efforts molded your magic force. Everyday, practicing on circulating your magic force. I guess, you unconsciously done it, right?" She said while eating some of the small square-shaped chocolates.

"Yes. You're right about that. I just unconsciously made myself use my magic force every moment I train, though in my mind, it was just a way for me to move my body longer than anyone else. Maybe...it was like me showing them the leader that they look up to." I replied and sighed lightly.  Then help myself to drink new tea served by my wife. For a short moment of talking, I felt that my throat has been dried up.

"That's quite amazing. Unconsciously developing and molding it was a great advantage for you. It will also help you to reach the next stage of your magic pool. You have an iron will, you not only shows what your land was called. But you also live what it was called for." She said, more like a compliment? Though I felt embarrassed for such praises, but then...I also felt relieved. Relieved that my position, the title that was given to me was not merely for a show. It was also like a result of my efforts and determination to live a life with the people I care and love.

"And the answer of your question earlier was, I know it because I've used my magic. Mystic eyes. Familiar?" She added after a moment of silence.

"Mystic eyes. I heard that it was the most rarest skill that a person can have. Even a healer mage dreamed to have it. But also researchers of magic system that was created by the Transcendental Persona, has given up looking for answers on how to obtain it." I said then I realized what she meant to say. I looked at her in my serious expression, waiting for her to affirm what I've realized.

Maybe...She's a transcendent. I said internally, as I bowed my head, clasped by hands above my lap. I felt a chill run down my spine.

"Then...may I confirm what I've been thinking?" I said, I raised by head and looked at her. She just stared back at me and nod. "You are the Transcendental Persona who...w-who made the magic system of this world, the only transcendent who fought for hundreds of years against the demonic realm. Am I... correct?" I said and control my trembling hands under the table. I don't know of why I feel such nervousness that it makes me tremble. It was like I'm eaten alive by a beast just knowing the truth.

"All of it are...correct." She responded shortly and plainly. Like saying, it was a normal thing to know that she was what I thought. "That's the only thing that most of you here knows. But you didn't know the reason why the Transcendental Persona, vanished just like a passing air." She added and she then leaned her back to her seat. She sighed lightly. Taking a pause from speaking. Both of her hands hold on to the cup of tea, just looking at it while thinking deeply. "I lived for hundreds of years. I actually died from another world. Reborn on this world, acquired the greatest power to survive and a power to save the people I cared. Both you and Lillian became part of my past journey, but both of you are still young. I could still remember clearly your cute faces." She chuckled for reminiscing her old memories.

Both of us, just quietly listen. "I'm sorry. I felt tired when I lived for hundreds of years and taking the role of fighting against the demonic realm. Even though I completely annihilated them. They can still rise again. Why? Why did they keep on invading and rising again? Every after 50 years, they will multiply themselves again. Again and again, I as the transcendent, will fight again against them. The funny thing is, because of fighting them again and again until I lost count of how many times it was, I achieved immortality and even had 20 eternal cores." She said revealing everything about her life. Her life as the Transcendental Persona.

Her life sounds like an agony for her soul. She smiled bitterly and continued. "For those hundreds of years, it was only giving  me loneliness, exhausted emotions, and agony. The feeling of wanting to die like you mortal being was the only thing I could think of in those years. I'm aware that part of it was also my fault. It was the desire of protecting whose dear to me— the main reason I lived and keep myself from fighting against the demonic realm." She said and her tears flowed, running continuously on her cheeks. "Oh...tears? I thought I forgot..." Her words makes me felt a sting that bore to my heart. The words that she uttered was just loneliness and exhaustion from everything she done for hundreds of years.

Lillian reached out to Arriah's hand and rubbing it through her fingers. It was to show of comforting Arriah. Both me and Lillian smiled to her genuinely.

"You know...even though I felt those exhausting emotions, I never forget such joy when I met the two of you. When you are still cute little kittens." She laughed, but a true, happy laugh. And she wiped her tears using the handkerchief given to her by my wife.

"Lady Arriah~" the words that my wife said as she was red as a beet. Flustered? Cute. I said internally.

"What do you mean by that, Lady Arriah?" I asked as I was curious for I don't remember that we met before during our childhood years.

"Of course, you don't remember. Because every 50 years, I changed my appearance. But when I met you Casimir and Lillian, you're the only two precious people I met in my 630th year of existing here. Both of you were five years old that time, now that I'm back, it was 20 years ago, I think." She said and smiled to us, genuinely. "I'm glad that I came back here and we arrived perfectly on time. Of course, it was because of your strong feelings and the need of help, Lillian. Though, my friend Alice was the one who desperately convinced me to try the magic circle that I thought I had disposed." She added.

"So... do you mean, you're the lady who had an ash-gray hair and a galaxy-colored eyes that I vaguely remembered?" My wife said and she was surprised when Lady Arriah nod at what she asked. Lillian covered her mouth as she was amazed with her mouth expressed an "o".

As for me, I couldn't remember the hair color and eye color that my wife described that supposedly the appearance of Lady Arriah.

"But...Lady Arriah, I couldn't remember that appearance you had, as what my wife described." I said as I was curious of her answers.

"Mmm~" she hummed as she was like thinking the reason why I can't remember her appearance before. For a few minutes, she suddenly like raised her point finger leveled to her head and say, "Oh! I remember. When we met in a city market somewhere in Andrea, I changed my hair color. When you bumped on me in the busy street, the hood of my robe that time fall off and as to avoid attention, I changed my hair and eye color between 0.8 to 1 second before anyone could see it." She said as it was the most probable cause that I didn't remember meeting her wearing ash-gray hair color and a galaxy-colored eyes.

"What's with the changing of color before 1 second? It was amazing that you could even change your hair and eye color." I said as it was also an unbelievable words I could hear. She's truly amazing.

"Thanks for the compliment. But I've done that, to avoid those annoying nobles who are seeking attention from me. They freaked me out, stalking and knowing wherever I go. They wanted to gain favor and has hidden agenda of using me to their own interests. Disgusting nobles. Tch." She said as we witnessed how disgusted she felt for those nobles who are always making troubles to the kingdom or even to the empire. Those nobles always, exists.

She rolled her eyes, crossed her arms, and sighed heavily after remembering those nobles. She then switch to happy mode then looked to the both me and Lillian.

"L-Lady Arriah?" Me and Lillian unconsciously said together.

"Anyways, did you already thought a name for your child?" She said like the excitement was evident to her voice.

"C-C-Child? What do you mean by that, L-Lady Arriah?" My wife said as she stuttered and flustered to the question thrown to us.

"Ohh~? So you didn't notice. Your pregnant, Lillian. As what I've seen using mystic eyes, you're 3 months pregnant. I just accidentally check on you while I'm using my mystic eyes from checking Casimir." She said and smiled genuinely like congratulating us.

We fell silent for a moment, and then realized that it was the best thing we always hope for. Having a child while we are still alive and young.

"R-Really? I mean...you are telling the truth, Lady Arriah? I just can't—" Lillian said as she touched her belly and with a teary eyes.

I, as the husband, also can't believe to the great news. I was completely stunned and can't make the news sink into me completely.

"Ehhh~? You don't believe me? I'm not lying though. My mystic eyes can tell me, show me everything beyond the surface." She said while leisurely drinking and eat the remaining sweet snacks on the table.

"Lil...we will now have a child to take care of. A child that we always hope for. For 2 years of being married." I said and immediately stand up from my seat, walk towards Lillian, and kneeled in front of her while hugging her, and putting my left ear over her belly.

"For now, you can't feel its kick. When it reach 5 months, Lillian's belly will be possibly obvious that she's carrying your child." she said and stand up from her seat and stand near Lillian. We also stand in front of Arriah, as we wait what she will say. "Now, let me give you a gift. Think of it as my advance congratulatory gift for giving birth. This will also served as a protection to you and your child Lillian." She said smiling genuinely caring to Lillian's health and condition.

Lady Arriah gestured to Lillian, to give its hand. She make a little star symbol putting on Lillian's wrist. It was small that making it unnoticeable for anyone, except if one will look for it intentionally. The symbol lighted and glittered like the color of the night skies. For a few minutes, its color changed to gold.

"There. Done. It will protect you, as long as I'm alive...this symbol will stay." She said and smiled genuinely to the both of us. "I hope your child will grow healthy."

After that moment, we decided to have dinner. So, we started to walk outside the room.

As we walk through the hallway, as Lillian enjoyed talking to Lady Arriah, I just walk following them at their back. I look at the window panes of the hallway as its multicolored patterns shines, reflected through the floor.

The moon shines bright today. I said at the back of my mind as the joy I've felt from the news I heard from Lady Arriah, lingers in my heart. I can't help myself smile from the thought of Lillian and me, having a child.

What a great news, indeed. What a great day.

The words that makes my day end, filled with joy.
