39 Reminiscent

Cheng Xiu felt the Qi in her thrum with vigour but there was a part of her that was not satisfied.

Towards the end of the battle, Lu WenXian was about to quit.

His use of the White Fire barely counted for anything.

How disappointing.

Cheng Xiu pursed her lips. She should be feeling lucky that he did not use the White Fire again! But it couldn't be helped. A large part of her mind was stuck at the fact that her opponent had given up in the end.

He was an expert in this world. He had more experience than her. He had a better understanding of the rules and the skills involved in this game.

It didn't matter that he was pulled down to Level 10! He should be able to do better than her.

Her mind went to someone she hadn't thought a long time.

He wouldn't have quit, she thought.

Her eyes sparkled for a moment before they returned to their calm sheen once more.

But it did make her excited to play this VR game more than ever.

Playing this game was more than just a means to accompany Gu Shu, to stop the pink-haired girl from getting into trouble. It was more than a means to get the feeling of what it felt like to have Qi.

The Other World was becoming her obsession.

As mad and illogical as the thought was, she wanted to play against these experts at their Level. The Other World's level cap of Level 70.

She wanted to pull them all into the Grandmaster's Arena the way that they did her and defeat them all.

She knew it was a pipe dream but Cheng Xiu found herself looking forward to the next match.

She opened her eyes. She was back in the White Room.

[Ding!]

Cheng Xiu blinked. She had another point added to all her stats.

"Status!"

[Ding!]

A virtual blue interface appeared in front of her.

Cheng Xiu raised her eyebrow at the detailed Status Window.

"Now that I think about it, didn't I have a title about being master of True Qi Cultivation or something?"

[Player Titles with advantages are automatically activated in place of titles that do not give the Player anything at all.]

"How did all my stats become 5? Weren't only Int and Wis at three when I levelled up?"

[Ding!]

[Would you like a summary of your point gain?]

"Yes."

[Ding!]

[First point to all stats are +1.

You had +1 added to Int and Wis during your Qi Cultivation Method learning period.

+1 to all stats for defeating Emperor Forest Spirit.

+1 to all stats after Leveling up.

+1 to all stats as a reward for victory against Lu WenXian.

Total Stat Points in each attribute = 5]

Cheng Xiu looked at her Character Sheet again. For the first time, she felt that she was a bit overpowered for a Level 2 player.

Her eyes went to the Weapons section. "Explain Weapon Mastery grades!"

[Ding!]

[Weapon and Skills Mastery Grades: Beginner 1- 10

Apprentice 11-20

Journeyman 21-30

Intermediate 31-40

Advanced 41-50

Master 51-60

Grandmaster 61-70]

Cheng Xiu hummed. "70 again. Does the Devs of this game have a thing for the number 70?"

She closed the Character Interface and opened the Arena Market.

She looked at the various weapons on display. More specifically those that were effective against throw weapons.

She kept a lookout for anything that had to do with Primordial Online. Though she didn't know what the connection was between the two games, she was sure that she would be able to cope with the weapons that The Other World had that were even remotely similar to Primordial.

She couldn't find any and was about to randomly choose a shield with disappointment when her eyes fell on the name wedged in the second last section of the List.

Cheng Xiu grinned. "I knew it had something like this!"
