126 Emotional Support Elf (ESF)

At the very start of the fight, when no dragon had yet to start throwing enormous spells and no one had yet to start getting unjured in the slightest, Aliara witnessed a swarm of flies come down and take the form of a disheveled man.

She had stepped forward to fight him but she hadn't quite realised how faint and weak his presence was, he was a sin but it didn't seem like he would be dealing any damage.

He looked incredibly sad as he pulled out a small piece of sharp glass and stabbed in his own hand, the wound appearing with the same severity on the dark elf's own hand.

He gritted his stained teeth in anger as he saw his wound disappear in an instant, in fury, he as about to try again, seemingly oblivious to Aliara's presence.

"Wait, stop!" she cried out and that got his attention as he looked toward her.

'If he reflects damage done to him, then fighting is useless' she thought, she didn't have much faith in her negotiation skills but the lesser sin seemed to be confused by default.

She also didn't notice any malice coming from him, he wasn't hurting himself to activate his ability but rather, it seemed like it just activated on its own.

"Huh, what is your name?" she asked him, having no clue what else to say but despite the out of place question considering the situation, he answered.

"Me? I am Suicide..." he responded awkwardly, giving a look at the shard of glass.

"I am Aliara, pleasure to meet you!" she thought herself to not be sounding very convincing but the lesser sin didn't seem to notice a thing.

"W-Well, nice to meet you too but I have to continue harming myself, the others asked me to do so" he responded and nonchalantly placed the sharp end of the shard in front of his face.

"Hold on a second, they told you to do it but don't you want to do anything else?" she pleaded and once again, the sin dropped the dangerous gesture and without needing to think about it-

"I would rather be dying right now" he blurted out.

'He is true to his namesake, I guess...'

"No matter how much I stab myself, how high of a place I jump or how long I stay in lava, I don't die, I was cursed with immortality..." he added sounding as if he was going to start crying any seconds.

Raising her hands in front of her with a wry smile, Aliara tried something.

"Well, maybe you need to die a certain way? Let's talk, maybe we'll figure it out!" she said and Suicide eyed her suspiciously.

"Are you trying to trick me? I don't have anything to give you" he said while pointing at her, he had put the shard back in his pocket, so at least she had managed to get his mind off of that.

"I don't mean to trick you! What makes you believe that?" she said in a friendly manner.

"Because everyone who has ever been nice to me did" he responded flatly, seeming more enraged than sad about it.

"All?"

"All"

"Not even a single exception-"

"None"

"Well, if you don't have anything that I could want, then there would be no point in me tricking you, right?" Aliara maintained her composure as the lesser sin thought about her words.

"You'll really help me die?" he asked with stars in his eyes.

"Of course!" not mentioning the fact that it wasn't what she said she would do in the first place, nor letting the fact that this conversation was beyond lunar show on her face.

"Just tell me about yourself" she said as she walked up closer to him.

He seemed to hesitate for a few moments, his mannerism was incredibly easy to read, like that of a child.

"Well, it all began the day I was born"

'Good freaking lord, that's far back!'

"I was put in some room and none of my father's wives would say that they were my mother, I think it was because I was cursed from birth or something, anyways, my father didn't seem to really mind all of that, he looked elated..."

'How does he remember all of that?' keeping her question to herself, she continued listening to Suicide's absolutely batshit crazy story.

"He said that it was perfect and none of his wives really understood what he was going on about, he picked me up and carried me to some sort of altar, there, he left me for quite a while, I got quite hungry, babies need attention you know? Him and a lot of other people, I would guess that everyone in the village was here, they started some sort of ritual..."

Aliara listened closely, the more he spoke, the weirder things seemed to be getting.

"I wouldn't know until the last moment but this ritual was meant to pass on all of the people's sins, onto me directly, however, it would take years before the sins were properly passed on and if I died during that time, the sins would just flow back to the original sinners..."

"The day the sins became one with me, I felt the animosity of god on my shoulders, the second I got their sins, all of them killed themselves, without exception, with the ritual still active, it seems that even that sin of ending their own lives was given to me and they all died as sinless beings, while I was left behind with more sins that probably anyone ever had..."

'Surely, it can't get any worse...'

"I kept on living for a while but I was met with nothing but cruelty, it must have been the effect of the sins I carried, everyone seemed compelled to go out of their way to harm me, so I decided to follow the example of the villagers and ended my own life, but I guess the gods weren't too happy with that, I remained conscious, alive for many years, unable to move an inch of anything..."

"Until the cardinal sins awakened, after a while, I was given the sin of suicide and given a new form but I retained my immortality, preventing me from truly ending it, I heard that the gods hadmuch less influence, so I thought that perhaps it would be possible but no"

The dark elf had no words, he had said all of this so simply, it didn't even make him flinch a little to recall his past.

"I-I see... How about you tell me about everything you tried? That will narrow things down" she said and he happily obliged.
