17 The Truth

" What are you two live birds fighting about"- Jeremy teased trying to make light of the situation.

Everyone has noticed how Maitreya and Chris were behaving towards each other. Everyone had also noticed that they were the last two to arrive at the hospital, both flustered, creased clothes and a very red mark on Maitreyas shoulder.

Maitreya tried to signal to Katy that something wasn't right and to stop Jeremy from starting this conversation. Jeremy was still annoyed that Chris had caught him cheating and wanted to stir trouble, especially because he knew something was going on with Chris as well.

" love birds ? " - Chris turned around and questioned

" Did I give you guys any indication that Maitreya and I were together? ... or in love for that matter ? " - he continued with an attitude.

Ofcourse they haven't went out as an official couple but Chris and Maitreya hung out alone quite often. There was evident chemistry between the both of them, they had their own inside jokes and got each others sarcasm, not to mention that they both just slept together a few hours ago.

Chris' statement definitely hurt Maitreya. She was still upset with him that his being lying, she did see him at the University with some girl and Jeremy had confirmed that at the hospital but she knew that Chris had feelings for her and was never this rude.

" Bro, there's no need to be this rude " - Owen said as he noticed the hurt that was displayed on Maitreyas face

'' No offense Maitreya. Sorry if that was harsh but just stating the facts " - he replied looking towards Maitreya

'' Jeremy, you saw Chris at the University last week right ? " - Maitreya asked and walked over to her friend Ella.

Jeremy took a deep breath and gave her a death stare warning her not to mention anything that she might have heard.

" Why are you bringing me into your fights " - he said trying to get away

'' Well, I know you did. You confirmed it at the hospital. Chris was at the University with a blonde girl. " - Maitreya states causing a little gasp from the other girls but no surprise from the guys.

" must have been a fan " - miguel quickly replied

" yeah, most probably " - Elijah nodded

" wait!! why are you guys trying to justify who I was with ? Neither of you even know who she was and why I was with her. Why do you feel the need to explain it to Maitreya as if I'm obligated to tell her " - Chris said in a very harsh tone

" So you did lie to me. You were at the University with someone " - she said slightly embarrassed and disheartened

" Look, we're friends right ? That doesn't give you the right to question my every action or demand to know my whereabouts " - he screamed

Friends ? You literally just tore the clothes off my body and drooled over my naked body. Yet he has the damn audacity to call me his friend in front of the band - Maitreya thought to herself.

" Just friends huh ? " - she sighed and everyone had noticed the heartache in her trembling voice.

She dropped her head down in embarrassment and walked towards the couch to grab her phone and car keys.

" hold on May, I'll come with you " - Ella said and left Owen's hand.

She lifted her head up to smile at Ella and mouthed " Thank you "

" I'm sorry, I can't leave her alone. I'll call you later " - Ella whispered to Owen

" I'll come with you " - Owen said and grabbed her hand

" No stay, stay with Chris and find out what the hell is going on. I'll take care of her " - she said and opened the front door.

" Look Maitreya, I'm happy that you and Ella both got accepted at the University. We got to build a friendship and hang out, I didn't think that you'd become this obsessive or stalk me " - Chris said

She knew that if she had said anything, she would only create a bigger problem or say something that she didn't mean. Chris on the other hand didn't seem to have a filter and purposely said things to hurt her.

Ella and Maitreya quietly walked out Chris and Owen's home and drive off to their apartment.

" Please tell me you didn't sleep with him " - Ella softly asked as she handed a cup of hot chocolate to Maitreya

Maitreya sighed and her eyes began to fill with tears.

" May " - Ella sighed and sat beside her

" It's Chris, I've always been a sucker for Chris " - Maitreya cried

" Yet you knew the type of guy he is. Even if you did sleep with him... You should have known better not to attach feelings to this. His got a reputation " - Ella continued

" It wasn't like that, not at all. He cares about me, I know it. I just don't know why his acting like this. If he wanted too, he would have have sex with me on the first night. We were alone in the woods together in our own tent.. Why would he wait a few months and be so gentle with me" - Maitreya said while taking a sip of her hot chocolate

" well, I'm glad that I'm here or else you'll be buried between your pillow right now under the sheets and crying like there's no tomorrow " - Ella laughed

" Let's chill and enjoy a girl's night after so long... just Ella and Maitreya. Besties for Life " - she continued and giggled

After a couple of drinks, Maitreya was finally in a good mood again. They took a few crazy selfies and decided to post some on their instagram stories.

Maitreya captioned it " The story of us looks alot like a tragedy now '' ( a lyric from Taylor swift's song )

After posting she scrolled and stopped at a picture of Chris kissing a blonde girl. She stared at the phone screen in shock causing Ella to pull the phone from her hand. It was on a News Fan Page about Chris and it captioned.

" Chris with his new girlfriend ' Abigail Rein ' at the Ireland University last week "

Ella then clicked on the account and found multiple pictures of Chris with this blonde girl at different locations and on different days.
