Viserys Fulgrim Targaryen

(Soul POV)

"Does it have to be Viserys III Targaryen? The Beggar King? I mean, I would take his father if you give me that or even his older brother. But Viserys ... that's not a very good premise for a new life is it? Aren't you going to watch me and try to be entertained?", I ask.

"First of all, you got the wrong idea here. I am not responsible for your death and neither am I looking for entertainment. I don't owe you anything. This is a chance for you, should you take it. It is the only one you will get. I won't grant you any powers which will allow you to go and create a harem of swooned maidens or some BS like that.", the ROB tells me.

"I was never looking for a harem of maidens anyway. But I was hoping to get something that would help me in a world as dangerous as ASOIAF. Just some reassurance would be good. I am not keen on going to that world, no matter how interesting it is to read about it, and then suffering until I get molten gold on my face."

"Hmm ... Very well then. I guess there is something that would help you greatly. It even fits into the world. Well, maybe it's a bit much, but what do I care? I won't watch you anyway. Alright, do what you want with your life, I shall grant you something."

"Thank you very much. What would that be?"

"I will not tell you that. What I will tell you however is that you will be called differently from now on.", the ROB says.

"What do you mean? Viserys III Targaryen won't be my name?"

"You will be called Viserys Fulgrim Targaryen.", the ROB says.

"Fulgrim? Who is- WAIT YO-"

"Goodbye."

(3rd Person POV)

Prince Viserys was born in King's Landing in 276 AC to King Aerys II Targaryen and his sister-wife Queen Rhaella, their first child to survive in the seventeen years since their son Rhaegar's birth, after multiple stillbirths, miscarriages, and infant deaths. The celebrated Viserys was small but robust and beautiful. The constant r*ping and abuse seemed to have brought something to the world. The ugliest tree brought fruit to one of the most beautiful things in the world, but that would only be realised years later.

Aerys's paranoia made him fear for the infant's life beyond reason, however. The Kingsguard watched him day and night, and Rhaella was forbidden to be alone with her son, not that that was seen as bad, by the infant. Aerys insisted that his food taster drink from the breasts of the prince's wet nurse, to make sure she had not smeared poison on her nipples. The King burned gifts sent by Westerosi Lords, thinking they might be cursed. Lord Tywin Lannister, the King's Hand, hosted a tournament in honour of Viserys's birth in Lannisport, but only Aerys and Rhaegar attended from the royal family. When Rhaegar married Elia Martell in the Great Sept of Baelor in 280 AC, Aerys refused to allow Viserys to attend.

Viserys was only a young boy at the time of Robert's Rebellion, and Queen Rhaella sheltered him from King Aerys's madness as much as she could. When his brother Rhaegar was killed at the Battle of the Trident, Viserys was named his father's heir, passing over Rhaegar's and Elia's infant son Aegon. Viserys was sent with the pregnant Rhaella to the fortified island of Dragonstone, where they stayed for the rest of the rebellion. After news of Aerys's death and the deaths of Rhaegar's children in the Sack of King's Landing reached Dragonstone, Viserys was declared King by his mother Rhaella.

In 284 AC, nine months after they fled King's Landing, Rhaella died while giving birth to Viserys's younger sister, Daenerys, during a storm which destroyed most of the Targaryen fleet, which had been anchored at Dragonstone.

Stannis Baratheon, the younger brother to Robert Baratheon, was about to set sail with his new fleet for the assault on Dragonstone, and the garrison of Dragonstone was prepared to turn Viserys and his sister over to him, but Ser Willem Darry and four loyal men smuggled the children to the Braavosian coast.

Viserys and Daenerys lived under Ser Willem Darry's protection in a house with a red door in Braavos. While they lived in Braavos, Willem signed a secret marriage pact with Prince Oberyn Martell of Dorne, with the Sealord of Braavos as a witness, agreeing that Viserys would take Princess Arianne Martell, daughter to Doran Martell, the Prince of Dorne, as his bride in exchange for Dorne supporting his claim for the throne.

However, Viserys was never made aware of this pact, as he was an immature child when it was decided, and he was not ready for the information ... or so it seemed. Willem fell ill five years after fleeing from Dragonstone, however, and eventually died.

- 289 AC -

(Viserys POV)

*Sigh*

To think I would regain my memories at this moment ... well I better get serious otherwise Daenerys and I will seriously lack any funds.

In the story, the servants stole what little money Daenerys and Viserys had after Willem's death, leaving them impoverished. We were put out of the house in Braavos soon after that. But I don't think I will let that happen. Ser Willem died a few minutes ago, leaving us without the last man who cares about what happens to Daenerys and me. So I should deal with this before the servants steal our remaining money.

I stand up from my bed and walk across the room I share with Daeny. I take the short sword which Ser Willem Darry gifted me and then move out of the room. I have already packed up everything of value. I walk through the house and into Ser Willem's room.

I see him lying on the bed with Daenerys holding his hand and crying. When she hears the door open, she looks at me. I see her puffy and bloodshot eyes as well as her tears. She is really sad to have lost Ser Willem. It makes sense because Ser Willem was the grown-up who protected and kept us safe. Now that he's dead, she will feel vulnerable and scared.

I walk towards her and take her into my arms. I hug her tightly. She is my sister, and I love her like a brother would. I didn't transmigrate into Viserys but was born as him. I just got my memories and my drive now. My body was always stronger, smarter and just overall better, but no one noticed or cared. This resulted in me also not caring about it. However now, that I have my memories back, I will take my role seriously.

"Shhhh, it's going to be alright Daeny. I will make sure we are going to be fine. You don't have to cry. I will protect you, believe it.", I tell her as I hug her tightly.

"Believe in your brother. I will make sure we are taken care of and that you are safe. No matter what life throws at us, I will never leave you.", I continue. She looks up at me.

"P-promise?"

"Yes, Daeny, I promise. Now come, we have to get ready. Any moment now, the vultures will come and try to take away the last of our money. Help me pack everything please.", I tell her and let her go. I walk around the room of Ser Willem and take everything of value. It may seem hard or unfeeling, but this is necessary and he is dead anyway.

There is very little money left. We have about 14 Gold Dragons left and a few Silver Stags. That may appear as much, but we are going to have to live off of this for the time being. Meaning we will have to disappear and find something else as soon as possible. Thankfully, I have an idea about this.

For my plan, I will need a starting capital. I hope that these 14 Gold Dragons will be enough. If not, it doesn't matter. I'll find another way.

.

I gathered everything of value in the room. I even took the armour Ser Willem had and his sword. Imagine my surprise when I find out, that the master-at-arms, or the former Red Keep's master-at-arms for King Aerys II Targaryen, owns a Valyrian steel blade. I almost laughed out loud when I recognised the blade ... it was Fireblade.

[Picture]

Fireblade was crafted by Ferrus Manus, the Primarch of the Iron Hands from the Warhammer 40k Universe, as the "perfect weapon". His brother FULGRIM in turn built and gave Ferrus the hammer Forgebreaker. Fireblade was a Power Sword capable of generating immense heat. And now, I recognize it again in this world. I know that it isn't a Power Sword but instead a Valyrian steel blade, making it weaker but still powerful in this world.

I understand now ... everything makes sense. My increased strength, intelligence, height ... everything. I am even considered beautiful by the Valyrian standards. Oh, man. So I was granted the abilities of Fulgrim, the Primarch of the Emperor's Children. That ... fits remarkably well. At least in terms of looks.

This opens up so many new possibilities. But for now, I will stick to my plan. It is the best option now.

I put Fireblade back in its sheath and then grab Daenerys' hand.

"Come Daeny. It's better if we leave now. I have a bad feeling if we stay here.", I tell her.

"But I don't want to leave! I want to stay here, brother. Please *sob sob* ... please Viserys... I don't want to leave ... where will we go?", Daenerys started to cry again. She was scared and confused. She also just lost her father figure and is lonely. I was not a good brother to her until now, but that will change. It breaks my heart to see her like this.

"I will protect you Daeny. We will always be together, did I not just promise you that? Think about something you wish the most and close your eyes. I will handle everything else.", I tell her and take her in my arms. He does as I say and closes her eyes. I smile and pick her up in my arms as well as the other things.

I open the door and see the 'servants' coming into the hallway. I don't want to start a fight here, so I better try to find another way out. I close the door again and look around the room. I walk to the wall and open the window. We are on the second floor, but it should work. As far as I can tell, I have just started to unlock the Primarch's full biological potential and I feel myself growing stronger by the minute. I will also grow stronger until I reach maturity.

"Remember Daeny. No matter what you hear, you keep your eyes closed until I tell you. Do you understand?", I say.

She nods her head and I jump out of the window.

"Aaaaaahhh", Daeny squeaks like the little girl she is but follows my instructions and keeps her eyes closed.

*BOOM*

With a heavy thud, I land on the ground. I feel the pain in my legs at this new sensation but continue. I simply ignore the pain and start walking. The gazes of others don't bother me in the slightest. As I walk, I can already feel my legs healing. I am impressed. I remember that Fulgrim had stronger healing capabilities compared to his brothers ... that and beauty. Yeah, he was not my favourite.

I move through the busy streets of Braavos with one goal in mind. I am walking towards one of the biggest smithys in the city of Braavos. Why? Because as soon as I regained my memories and my body seemed to change, I got the idea of working in a smithy and making my way up the ladder. Similar to how Fulgrim did it in his world. Funny how that works.

.

I navigate the streets of Braavos as the sun slowly begins to dip. One more corner and I reach the smithy. I see they are just about to close for the day, so I speed up. Daeny has fallen asleep in my arms. The stress of the day has worn her out. She feels so light in my arms and so small too. Finally, I reach the smithy and address the big burly man who is closing.

"Excuse me, sir. I was wondering if you have a second to spare for me.", I ask him in a friendly tone. I am the one who wants something, so I better use my charm and charm him.

He turns around and looks at me and then at Daenerys. He seems to connect some dots and then shakes his head.

"Sorry lad. There is no place for you here. I'm not a hotel and I don't have enough money to spare to feed two additional mouths.", the blacksmith says and is about to close the door.

"Please, sir. I beg you. I am not looking to waste your time and money. I am not looking for scraps. I am strong and willing to work. I will do anything for you, no matter what it is. I have a special talent for smithing and I wanted to propose a deal you will be very interested.", I quickly say.

"Huh? Listen, boy, I don't-"

"I guarantee you, you will be interested. Don't you want to make more money?", I say the magic word before he closes the door. He opens it again and looks at me with interest. It's as I thought, money is something no one would refuse.

"Go on."

"Me and my sister are alone. I can work for you. I have a special talent for smithing and I will prove it to you. My deal is this one: I will work for you for 6 months. During these 6 months, you will not pay me anything. Not one copper coin. The only things me and my sister need are a small place to sleep and some food. That's all. During these 6 months, I guarantee you, that I will double your profits. Should your profits not double ... my sister and I will leave and never bother you again.", I say and he seems sceptical but also interested.

Again the magical words, 'no pay and small space' were the important parts. I could kill him and take over the shop, but that would only lead to unnecessary problems right now. I don't want to deal with assassins. Even if I can't be killed so easily in the future, Daenerys can. To take care of my sister, I will eat dirt if need be. I'm not sure where this love is coming from, but it feels like the gates of love were suddenly opened when I regained my memories.

"Hmm ... I don't see any problem with that. Very well, I agree. But I want to see results in 4 months, not 6. If you agree to that we have a deal.", he tells me. Of course, he would argue about that. But the joke's on him, I already planned for this and said 6 months on purpose.

"We have a deal, good sir."

"Very well. Come in."
