Chapter 54

In a dark room where many cloaked figures were gathered. A winged figure which was in the center of many people suddenly spoke.

"Hmmm, it has been a long time since I've been to the mortal realm. The air here is better than the demon world."

As he was reminiscing the feeling, one of the Demon God's follower step up and spoke as he kneeled.

"Oh lord Orias, we were very honored by your presence. We were very grateful that you heed our wish to summon a high ranked demon."

Orias smirked at them as for him, a demon earl, humans were insignificant presence that shouldn't be cared at all. However, the Demon God's followers mistook it as his affirming their gratitude.

He then walked up to them as he then said.

"Now my summoner, what can I do for you?"

His descent was different from the planned return of the demons to the mortal world. In truth, the Demon God's Cult occasionally summons a demon to make a follower who had high merit to form a contract with a demon in exchange for more power.

It had been the Demon God's Cult tradition for hundreds of years and it was also a way to increase their strength as they were widely known as Tensura's enemy.

As they luckily summoned a high ranking demon earl, greed flared in their eyes as all of them as they all wanted to obtain the power of a legendary demon.

Seeing there greed, Orias simply said.

"Do you know what it means to enter a contract with a demon?"

Orias said as he grinned. As one had said, entering a contract with a demon doesn't mean just giving your soul to a demon. Many negative effects can happen as a demon was a being of ultimate greed and madness.

Once entering a contract with a demon, your life would no longer belong to you as the contracted demon can now control you however he wanted to.

"I do Lord Orias."

The leading Demon God's follower spoke as even there were many negative consequences, the intense and enormous demonic power was so tempting and alluring.

"Very well, as I don't have much time on staying in the surface, might as well fulfill the purpose of me being summoned here."

As they were about to start to form the contract, all of them including Orias heard someone's grumble.

"I thought this would be interesting but no matter how I see it, it's so boring."

Zephyr said in his monotone voice but it was loud enough to be heard by anyone. All of their eyes widened upon realizing Zephyr's presence.

'Oho!'

Orias' interests was pique as at first, he thought Zephyr was one of them but it turned out that he was mistaken. Looking at the expressionless face without any ounce of fear even looking at a legendary demon, he wondered what this puny human could do.

However, it was different for the Demon God's followers. All of them were shocked to the core as they haven't noticed a single thing about his arrival at all. They wondered what the guards were doing as none were even able to notify them about the intruder.

Understanding the thoughts in their mind, Zephyr simply and calmy stated.

"If your looking for any guard, they're gone. Probably they are now together with the Demon God you dearly worshipped."

Zephyr expressionlessly stated the truth but those words were a big shock to them all. It was a natural reaction. As the number of the Demon God's followers in this hideout was almost thousands yet Zephyr who was alone wiped out hundreds of them.

Not even a single scratch could be seen anywhere on his body as if dealing with them wasn't a big deal at all. Zephyr then simply walked forward as he ignored them as his eyes was focused on the demon.

He thought this quest was so sadistic as the Atlas Corps wanted players to deal with a legendary demon. However, Zephyr was gravely mistaken. In truth, players were not going to face Orias as that would totally have 0% of success.

Because Zephyr have came here so early, he happened to arrive on the day when a demon summoning was conducted which was actually not a part of the actual main scenario quest. Zephyr who still had no idea that what he had encountered today, would give the developers a very painful headache.

"Your quite a brave human. Maybe I..."

As Orias was about to ridicule Zephyr, he paused as Zephyr appeared behind him in a matter of a second even the distance was still a couple of meters away. Orias was surprised at the guts of Zephyr however he just let Zephyr attacked him.

Zephyr slashed twice but narrowed his eyes as Orias possessed a high amount of defense. Zephyr then took a distance as he saw that Orias immediately healed the lost HP.

"I see. Devil Slayer, now I understood why the people outside stood no chance to you at all."

Orias grinned after knowing that Zephyr was a devil slayer. He was filled with enthusiasm as he felt the threatening aura that surrounded Zephyr.

"It's been a long time since I've fought a devil slayer. Entertain me Human!"

Orias immediately appeared in front of Zephyr after roaring. Orias then attacked Zephyr with a big grin on his viscious face. Zephyr tilted his head as he avoided the claw which was surrounded by an enormous amount of demonic power.

Zephyr then used [Lightning Flame Slash] after avoiding. Orias faced the sword that was filled with fire and lightning head on. A strong collision resounded the entire room.

"That stings."

Orias said as his tail sweep Zephyr. Zephyr deflected the tail with a calm expression as he wasn't bothered by the damage reduction as he had already experienced worse than this.

Seeing his calm reaction, Orias attacked aggressively as he laughed madly at the same time. Orias was so thrilled as every of his attacks were defended by Zephyr perfectly. He was also amazed at how fast Zephyr's movement and attack speed is.

He was so amazed that a Tier 1 was capable of this. He could tell that not even the lesser demon's in hell could be this good. Suddenly, Orias eyes widened as he was amazed by Zephyr's dancing movement as Zephyr used [Saint's Sword Dance].

Admiration was filled in Orias mind as Zephyr exquisitely handled the sword as every attacks' hits him even he tried to avoid it. Zephyr narrowed his eyes as he found it strange that demon was reacting like this.

Fire and lightning immediately appeared as he simultaneously casted [Fireball] and [Lightning Blast]. Five swords also surrounded him as he then fired it all at the grinning Orias.

'Magic? Is this guy a magic swordsman?'

He guessed Zephyr was magic swordsman after seeing him being good with the sword as he can also use magic. He didn't tried to avoid it as he was more than confident he wouldn't be troubled by Zephyr's attacks.

Zephyr dealt enormous damage but it was still only 10% of the total HP of Orias. Zephyr found Orias very interesting as all he could see was a boss who possessed an insane amount of HP.

Unlike the previous fights of Zephyr, even he could see that Orias was just weakened, he didn't think much as he wasn't even going to be afraid even Orias was at his peak.

As Orias was still stunned due to the effect of [Lightning Blast], Zephyr launched [Fire Bolt] and [Lightning Bolt] as he also unleashed [Illusory Sword]. With [Sword Manipulation], the five swords didn't stopped their assaults.

After a while, Orias noticed something different. He felt that his regeneration speed wasn't as fast as it used to. He then stared at Zephyr who was about to land another barrage of attacks to him.

[Critical!]

[You have dealt....]

Orias took a step back after suffering the damages of Zephyr's simultaneous attacks. Regaining the ability to move, demonic energy then exploded as he roared at the same time.

A vicious smile appeared in his face as he was so intrigued on how Zephyr was able to hurt him.Zephyr immediately retreated as his senses was ringing for danger.

He could now guess that Orias was going to take the fight seriously. Orias then laughed loudly as he never experienced that there was a human of this calibre. He felt it was a pity that he was only a tier 1 as his fighting style was perfect.

He couldn't sense or see any gap on Zephyr's movement or any weak spot that would allow him to take any advantage.

Meanwhile, the Demon God's followers watched the intensive fight with a dazed expression. This is the first time they were seeing a human fight a legendary demon on an equal standing.

However, neither Zephyr nor Orias cared about them as the two were only focused at fighting at each other. Javelins formed out of demonic power and immediately fired at Zephyr with extreme speed.

Zephyr then stopped as he took a stance, before the javelins could hit him, Flames appeared in his sword as he slashed all the surrounding javelins and cut them all into half with [Nova Ascension].

Orias was surprised how Zephyr was able to cut his demonic power into half without any resistance. The Sword Saint was such an existence. The Sword Saint can cut everything in his way and break through. Orias then realized something.

"This....There's no mistake! This one is a legend."

Zephyr immediately appeared behind him as used [Blink] and suddenly his sword released an intense killing intent as he used [Vorpal Destruction]. Zephyr also casted a spell that would make Orias scream loudly. [Hell Fire].

Orias then roared very loudly after being burned by the hell fire and the slashed of Zephyr. As his regeneration speed was reduced by half, his HP fell to 70% after enduring Zephyr's continuous attacks.

Zephyr then retreated as he suddenly sensed that Orias was about to do something. Backing a meter away, Zephyr fixed his gaze at Orias as he was curious what this legendary demon would do.

"Kufahahahaha! Amazing!"

Orias laughed as madness was filled into his blood red eyes. Seeing that Zephyr stopped his attacks, Orias stopped his laugh as he said.

"Why did you stop? You must finish this fight as soon as possible."

Orias said as he ridiculed Zephyr. However, contrary to what he had expected, Zephyr's expression didn't distort at all as it remained calm with no change of expression. He then continued.

"Unlike us demons, we have nearly unlimited stamina and mana which won't make you outlast me in endurance."

"That being said, once your mana and stamina run out, you're no different than a mortal with no power."

Zephyr didn't bother to reply as he already knew it. For him, Orias didn't need to point out that simple fact as only an idiot wouldn't know. However, Zephyr was confident that he won't lose no matter what as he hasn't brought all of his cards yet.

Seeing that talking was pointless, Orias then held his hand together as it formed a hand sign that was pointed out to Zephyr. He then said.

"Young Devil Slayer. Let me show you what's the power of a Legendary Demon Earl."

The surroundings immediately changed. Before Zephyr could prepare to the current changes, Orias said as magic power launched at Zephyr.

"Night of Terror."

Demonic power immediately surrounded Zephyr. Suddenly numerous notifications appeared.

[You have been inflicted with 'confused'.]

[Resistance failed.]

"Huh?"

Zephyr was surprised as the abnornal resistance effect of the legendary class failed for the first time. Seeing his confusion, Orias said with a smirk.

"I am a legendary demon myself, so it's natural I could bypass that resistance of yours. Don't worry, I only casted an illusion spell on you."

He then continued as his grin became even bigger.

"But that's not a simple illusion. In that moment, I could enter your mind and change something inside then making you my puppet."

"Kuhahahaha."

Orias madly laughed as Zephyr felt his consciousness was fading. It didn't took long for Zephyr to totally close his eyes. The moment Zephyr lost consciousness, Orias entered his consciousness.

"Hahahaha that was easy."

He laughed madly after entering Zephyr's consciousness. However, before he could start what he was going to do, the moment he turned back.

A giant figure was looking down at him. It then roared loudly which made Orias confused on what was going on.
