Chapter 31

Zephyr was currently strolling around the city after hearing what Agur had said. Agur told Zephyr some tales and Zephyr didn't gain much. Zephyr could tell it was the system itself was implementing some limitations.

However for Zephyr, it was more than enough. Zephyr then remembered and thought back of what Agur had said to him.

In Tensura, there were countless creatures. Many were strong but of all, the strongest were the transcendents. Transcendents were no longer at the realms of mortals.

They are beings that have transcended mortal limit and become what can be called Immortals, Although they aren't really immortals but they can't die easily and can live forever, that is as long as they won't get killed.

They also possess tremendous power which cannot be understand by common sense. The gods, demons, dragons, titans, spirits and all other mythical beings are under this category including the transcendent mortals.

Transcendents can also be referred as constellations. They are generally individuals whose stories have been told on Tensura for aeons, mainly mythological figures.

Out of curiosity, Zephyr also asked Agur on how to become a transcendent and Agur happily answered as he thought that Zephyr wanted to become a transcendent in the future.

One can become a transcendent upon gaining sufficient achievements or stories, each of which must be legendary rank at minimum. Upon gaining sufficient feats and fulfilling the requirements, one would undergo an 'Exuviation' which was the process of transcending.

Based on Zephyr's understanding, the minimum requirement is one should reach Tier 4 and exuviation is the process to become a Tier 5 entity. Zephyr then confirmed that Tier 5 and Tier 6 were in the category of Transcendents which cannot be overcome by Tier 4 and below.

He also confirmed that there isn't only 1 god that existed in Tensura. There were many gods but still wasn't introduced yet to players as they are still new in Tensura. Zephyr concluded that the Atlas Corps wanted the players themselves to discover those gods.

As Zephyr was strolling around, he opened his map icon and decided to go to some entertaining places as it would be a waste to stay in the city when he has nowhere to go and nothing to do. A certain location piqued his interest.

[Great Jura Forest.]

It is a large woodland situated at the center of the west continent. Zephyr was also curious as none of the 4 Kingdoms took it as their territory even the forest was larger than their kingdoms.

Zephyr guessed it was inhabited by many monsters and some transcendents which frightened the humans. He was curious if he could meet some Tier 5 or Tier 6 entity there. As he was about to go to the Great Jura Forest, a city announcement appeared in all players in White Tiger City.

[Announcement: The players who had advanced their class in White Tiger City has reached 100,000. An event quest has been created.]

[Monster Tide]

Difficulty: S

Precisely 1,000,000 monters have crossed the border of the White Tiger City.

Defend the White Tiger City.

Quest Clear Conditions: Repel the monster army (0/1,000,000)

Quest Clear Rewards: Proportional to contribution.

Quest Failure: The monsters will advance to the White Tiger City. The city will fall into chaos.]

Zephyr looked at the notification as he wonder if participating in the defense war against the monsters was entertaining.

'1,000,000 monsters. It's interesting.'

Zephyr was a little thrilled as he was curious of what would be the view of looking at the millions of monsters at once. However, not everyone shared the thought of Zephyr.

(Tensura's Forum)

"Huh? Is the Atlas Corps crazy?"

"Fight 1,000,000 monsters? That's obviously impossible."

"Why don't you developers fight the monster yourselves."

"Ahhh! We're doomed!"

The players despair at the thought of fighting millions of monsters. To solo players, it was a nightmare for them but to the guilds, it was seen as an opportunity.

Many players were gathered at the same time in a closed location. Apoximately 10 of them were sitting in a round table and facing each other. All of them did not made a sound as they waited for someone to spoke first.

[Aron- Level 18 Hermit Swordsman (Growth-Epic)]

The 2nd rank player in Tensura who also possess the 3rd rank in class ranking. He possessed a growth type class which can also one day become a legendary class which is currently at the epic rating at the moment.

"Seems like we have to do something about it."

Aron spoke in a low voice and the others nodded. Currently, many corporations and companies are pressuring them to join them but they rejected as they did not wanted to be tied.

As all of them were solo players, they didn't like the idea of being tied down by an organization and make them like a dog who only follows orders or become tools for their greed. All of them then thought of a simple solution to the problem. It is to create a guild with just the 10 of them.

"So who will stand as our Guildmaster?"

Aron voiced his opinion. Even being the 2nd rank, he didn't push himself to become the guildmaster as all of them around were talented players as all of them were in the rankings.

"It should naturally be you Aron."

A calm voice resounded at the opposite side of the round table.

[Ivan- Level 17 Shadow Assasin (Epic)]

The current 4th place in the Star Rankings. They considered Ivan as the 1st rank assassin in Tensura, specializing in stealth and agility.

Ivan was a genius which everyone in the room admired as he can unleash several combos calmly. He has white skin, small lips, less developed brow bone, black eyes and silver hair.

"Everyone in this room might be skilled individually but you fitted the most as you are better in leadership among us."

Ivan pointed out a fact and no one rebuke his statement which they found was true. A charming voice was then heard as he supported Ivan.

"I agree with him, I think it would be more fun if we have someone more competent of being the Guildmaster than someone who is only skilled in individual fights."

[Miya- Level 17 Elven Archer (Epic)]

She was the one who was defeated by Zephyr on the PVP arena. After being defeated by Zephyr, she immediately went to hunting monsters and grind her level as she wanted to have the same damage output of the number 1 player.

The rest of them also nodded and supported that Aron should be the guildmaster. Aron sighed as he can't do anything if no one wanted to step up to become the guildmaster.

"Then what would be the name of the guild?"

A robust warrior spoke. He had red hair, brown eyes and a handsome face that would make some girls drool.

[Sven- Level 16 Barbarian Warrior (Epic)]

Hearing Sven's remark, all of them fell into silent as all of them thought of a cool name. They wanted it to sound majestic and something they can be proud of.

"What about Victorious Prodigies?"

All of them turned their attention to a teenage girl of average height with upper-back length yellow hair that has bangs hanging on the left side, and blue eyes.

[Lina- Level 16 Pyromancer (Rare)]

She wore a mage robe and held a staff in her hand. She smiled sweetly as she hoped her suggestion would be accepted. None of them objected as the name suggested sound good in their ears.

"Correct me if I'm wrong, does the name means that we are genuises who always emerge victorious?"

A teenage boy with a tall figure and a good looking face. He had a cherry blossom colored hair as he held a gun in his hands as he seated comfortably.

[Clyde- Level 16 Maleficent Gunner (Rare)]

"Your correct Clyde."

Lina smiled cutely as she faced and answered Clyde which made his face turned red seing how cute she is for a moment. Lina noticed and her face also reddened seing his fluttered reaction. Noticing the atmosphere, Aron then changed the topic.

"As your appointed guildmaster, does any of you object to the guild name?"

All of them shook their heads as none disagreed with the name. Aron then continued.

"With that, from here on out, we will be known as the Victorious Prodigies Guild and would instantly establish the guild once we found a guild creation token."

As rankers, they now possessed the karma required to establish a guild and just needed a guild creation token. As they now concluded what they want to do, they proceeded to their next topic.

"Now what would we do about the Monster Tide?"

All of them fell into a moment of silence as it was an S-ranked quest. All of them haven't encountered one yet as the highest difficulty was A-ranked quest except for the Nightmare Level Trial which can be considered an SS-ranked quest.

They then thought of facing a million of monsters but none of them were scared. On contrary they were excited as the mobs itself were approaching means they can gain massive experience points.

They expected they would raise their levels but they didn't thought it would be easy. Facing a million of monsters without a plan is just pure suicide.

"We should be thoroughly prepared when the monster arrives. First of all, we should focus our firepower on the magicians to cast AOE magics, also to our range dealers and physical damage dealers should act as support."

[Natalia- Level 17 Phantom Assasin (Rare)]

Natalia stated as they were about to confront millions of monsters. She told them that it's not about how they kill monsters, it's about how they last against the wave of monsters while also killing them.

If they are not in well position, they would only be wiped out as they would be attacked endlessly. The six of them then stared at the four players which made the latter froze.

"Then the strategy is now decided. We will focus our firepower on you guys.''

Aron said to Miya, Lina, Clyde and to another teenage girl of average height with upper-back length blue hair, and blue eyes. She wore a mage robe and a wooden staff in her hands.

[Luna- Level 16 Ice Mage]

She is also one in the Star Rankings even she did not possess a hidden class. Even so, none of them would say she was a bad player. She is also skilled enough to be at the top but she doesn't speak much.

"If that's the plan, then I would do my best to protect everyone."

A player with a heavy armor spoke as he resolved himself for the upcoming fight. He had brown hair, black eyes, handsome and mature face.

[Arthur- Level 17 Guardian Knight]

As a tank, he steeled himself to be the vanguard who was defending the frontlines against the monster tide. Another voice then spoke as he confidently said.

"Your not alone to suffer in frontline buddy."

[Mark- Level 16 Paladin]

Aron smiled as everyone knows their roles he doesn't need to step up to tell them about it. After concluding, they immediately dispersed as they bought many potions and other essentials they need.

Zephyr was currently outside of the walls of White Tiger City as he waited for the monster tide to come. He used his [Emperor Eye] earlier to know which side would have the most number of monsters and decided to go there.

It didn't took long enough for numerous monster to be seen charging towards the walls at fast speed. Zephyr inspected some of them and he was a bit disappointed that most of the monsters didn't reach level 25 as the highest was level 23.

However, not everyone is like Zephyr who had reached level 30 already as other players haven't reached level 20 yet which would make the monster a nightmare for them. As the monster were around 500 meters distance against him, Zephyr then held Aetherius Sword in his hand.

The magnificent sword waited for it's first fight as 2 more sword flew around Zephyr as he used [Sword Manipulation]. Zephyr controlled the Venomous Demon Sword and Frostlight Sword around him as he waited for the monsters to come.

"This is exhilarating."
