Negotioations

Max flew like a rocket towards Manchester city. His speed was something insane. The flight skill plus the wind magic power caused him to fly in a rocket. It took him only a few hours to get to Manchester city. When he got there he talked with the mage and the grand knight that are responsible for this city security. The backup forces still did not get here. From what Max knew they should arrive in around two or three more days. Generally a normal trip between the capital and Manchester city took around three weeks. With high phase it took around a week in a half. Max was in the simulation for seven to eight years. It was seven to eight days in the real world.

When Max was sure everything was fine he informed them about the meeting that was about to commence in two more days and told them to get ready for surprises. The fact that Max was present will most likely prevent any stupid stuff to happen, but his people should be able to handle things without him. He was not going to be a nanny to all the cities.

When he got all he wanted to do night already arrived and he just took a place in the residence where the mage and the grand knight resided and went to sleep. The two days after that he just walked around the city and looked at what was going on. He did visit the church with the kids. He gave the order to provide them with the money needed for the kids to grow and study and it was done well. When he came over the old women, Emmy and Elena that was still her helper and the kids met Max was open arms and a lot of hugs. Max had mixed fillings about it. He did not like to interact with people, but here it felt strangely nice. After talking with them Max went over to visit Rey and Drake. He made sure that those two were from the one thousand people that were boosted to the level of a knight and then sent them to Manchester to serve in the army as simple soldiers. The army officers were dumbfounded that the two brats were at a level of a knight and were assigned as simple soldiers and not officers like all the others that came over. The grand knight knew about the special status of the brats and did not go easy on them. He made them work a lot and prove their liability to the other soldiers before they were promoted. Rey got around ten soldiers to command after around a year and Drake got around two hundred soldiers to command because he showed his wisdom and helped the higher ups greatly dealing with a few attacks that the city faced. Manchester was the city that faced most attacks at the two years Max was at seclusion.

The army ranks in Max's country were taken from the US army ranks that were:

-Private. A simple soldier.

-Sergeant. Command a team of 4 soldiers.

-Staff sergeant. Command a squad from 8 to 16 soldiers.

-Lieutenant. Command a platoon of 16 to 44 soldiers.

-Captain. Command a company of 60 to 200 soldiers.

-Lieutenant colonel. Command a Battalion of 300 to 1000 soldiers.

-Colonel. Command a Brigade of 1500 to 3200 soldiers.

-Major General. Command a division of 10000 to 16000.

-General. The supreme ruler that control all the army.

For now both brats did not progress further and Rey was still a staff sergeant and Drake was a Captain. Rey was under Drake's command, but they acted like real buddies. Drake was now stronger than Rey because of his technique, but even with the fact that Rey was a muscle head it did not affect his ability to grow as a person with time. The army did affect them well.

When Max met them he tested them both for their progress. Like always Rey got destroyed and Drake was praised for his skill. After that Max talked with them a little about what were their plans for the future and that if they wanted they could leave the army after they will get to the age of 16. Max made it to make them obey rules and be in a system that will not let them go the wrong path. All his brats that studied in his class were given the same conditions. They did get an army pay for their duties and they could send it to their families. That way everyone were fine. After a little more chit chat Max sent the kids to continue with their duties.

In the day in a half left he just roamed the city, talked to people to get to know them better. People knew who he was and a lot of them had good things to say. In the beginning they tried to be formal, but Max just asked them to act like they will do with a normal citizen. Some people had troubles changing the way they acted, but the older generation stated to talk to him like their son and speak about life. Max did not mind. He did not have much things to do for now. He just waited for the day of the negotiations to come and it soon did.

At the morning of the third day Max came over to the city gates, where he met the empress. She did came alone. Without any guards because there was no need for them. Max could decimate her and her guards in a snap of a finger. Max went to the mayor building to an isolated room with her to talk about the future of the two empires.

The negotiations were really straight forward. When they both got sited Max did not delay and spoke: "Like I said before the country of Valeria goes to me. I do not care about all the rest. You will need to pay a big compensation to me in gold coins and magic crystals and also pay me monthly to not blow you up. If you do want to buy armors or alchemic products from me it will cost you five times more than what it cost for my citizens. Also give me a talisman that I could contact you at any time I need. Generally I don't need anything else from you. The best thing would be if I will not see you again for a long time."

The empress nodded in affirmation. There was generally nothing she could say against Max. She thought he was very generous to her. She thought he would take over her empire and do a lot of other bad things to her, her family, her countries and her empire in general. Max was a lot nicer in his conditions then she thought he would be.

As for why Max said what he said. The reason was simple. He wanted to take control over not a huge territory and just have good control over it. He wanted to give the Valeria country to Valeria as it was her country by right. It will also be a part of his empire and that's it. Having a big territory and the need to control a lot of people and land was not always a good thing. Big amounts of people and big amounts of land was a big amount of problems and responsibility that he needed to take on himself. He did not want to do that. He wanted a good territory for himself and his family that he could always call home and just take over other empires by quality rather then quantity. When his children would like to take over the Ruth empire they can do whatever they wanted. Max wanted to just live in piece and enjoy life. He would get magic crystals and gold coins for being chill. He just wanted to start a new stage in his life and it was about time to do that.
