Exam for the capital national academy part 1

After Rey's display of strength, he got a lot of attention from the masses. Many people understood that this little guy was not simple. Some of the local sellers knew those bandits and they knew Rey must be a knight apprentice to at least have a chance at survival, not even talking about a crushing win like he displayed. After the people saw the prices on the weapons most of them dispersed. They did not really get mad at the kid because most of them were thinking that he had no idea what he is doing in terms of selling or just did not want to get beaten up by an unreasonable kid. They knew from his clothing that he was no noble. The richer costumers saw that quality of the equipment and quickly took all the swords. There were few that knew a thing or two about swords and they did recognize the fact that two of the swords were enhanced and quickly swept them of the kid's hands with a big and happy smile. Even reselling the sword would give them a huge profit, but they did not intend on doing that. It will be more on a level of a local heirloom for their family decedents. 

One of the costumers came to Rey and said: "Hey kid I heard that the National Academy of Alexandria is doing an exam for new potential recruits. I think you should give it a shot. You are so young and already so strong. You should have a good chance of getting into this academy. In the case you will get there your future should be limitless. You could get a high position in the country. Even the fact that you are a commoner should not be much of an issue. Like you must already understand power is key."

Rey heard about the news and got excited. He did want to pave a way for all the other kids into a better life. If he could apply and get approved and graduate, he will get to hights he don't even understand right now. After a little bit of thinking Rey nodded to the stranger and thanked him dearly. Those kind of chances could change a life. After a short time he sold all of his weapons and ran back to his new master to ask for him to apply. In the end of the day without Max Rey would not get anywhere in life. No one will even know he had high level of aptitude towards knight training. 

When Rey came back to the gaming club Max was not happy to see him at all. "Hey brat. What the fuck are you doing here? Did I not tell you to scram and sell all the weapons to pay for your education? Did you want to slack off after all those years of doing stupid shit? Do you want to DIE?!!?!!?" Max roared. He has already got up from a happy and calm appearance to a state when he would destroy this kid for real. He was this close. This little shit just got some of his inner demons to manifest. He wanted to not see this stupid brat in the near future for his mental health to get better with time. 

In this time Rey was full of fighting spirit and did not ask for mercy. He knew that there is no point of doing that. He wanted to go and try taking the test to the academy. He knew that a chance like that may not occur again. After getting all of his courage he said aloud: "Master Max Alexandia's National Academy is making a recruitment for children at my age right not at the city near the adventure's guild. I would like you to approve my participation." It was a hard job saying this with a straight face because Max was looking at him with a mad gaze with veins pulsating on his forehead. The kid felt that a little more and something bad will happen. 

After hearing the news and thinking about them for a while Max was pleasantly surprised. After thinking for a bit more his expression changed for the better and he said: "Congratulations little shit. It is the first time you said something worth listening to. It is a progress. I guess people improve with time. Alright. Let's go and see if you can get into that academy. I don't really think it should be a problem. Most like if you won't get there I will kick you ass myself."

Rey was starting to regret what he said before because he was getting nervous. He did not know how hard it would get. He did not want to be punished. He was sure it would not be a nice beating. He will get his shit kicked out of him. It was one thing he was sure of. Max accompanied Rey to the adventurers guild. Derek stayed looking after the fighting club. When they got there they saw a big crowd gathered around a circular ring with two burly men. Those two had budges with the names of Jessy and James. Jessy was the examiner and James was watching the fight from the side and also giving his score. After each examination they gave their verdict. Not a lot of people applied. It was understandable because a lot of strong kids from wealthy families lost horribly. The weak and skinny ones from the commoner's side did not have high chances and most of them lost their will even to try. There were two groups for recruitment. For the kids until the age of twelve and for those until the age of fourteen. Generally, in the country kids started using their life force to become knight apprentices near the age of twelve. Until then they will be trained and given a good foundation to start from. For the kids from the age of twelve to the age of fourteen they will have to get through a harder test in terms of their fighting skills. All the kids will have to get checked for the ability to manipulate life force and have the ability to advance to a level of an apprentice knight. It was the first criteria. In the same location they will know their average talent for cultivating life force. It was just like Max tester, but the indicator was the light from the crystal the kids would touch. Max and Rey needed to wait for around an hour to get to James for Rey to give his try. 

When Max and Rey got near Jessy and James Max saw that the duo of the testers were at the second stage of apprentice knight. It was not bad for this country. 

James asked: "Name? Age?"

It was said almost robotically because he said the same thing for so many times already. He was tired of it for today. He thought that getting the so-called talents from here was a waste of time. Until now they got only 2 children suitable. Both were 13 years old boys. It was not very good result. Both of those boys did not have high aptitude for training life force and also as fighters. He was sure they could find the same talent in the capital. 

Before Rey could answer because he was nervous Max said: "The name of the brat is Rey. He is ten years old. Second stage knight apprentice. Don't go easy on him. If I see that test is too easy Rey I will test you myself. Now go there and don't shame me because if you do you pay for this you little retard!!!!"
