99 A visitor from the empire part 1

After taking over the country again and making sure everything was under control Max did few more things. He announced that tomorrow he will talk about the new rules of the country and the new name of the country. The people were excited because for now Max did only good for the common people. Only the fact they had a cultivation technique that had the ability to boost their powers to the third level of a knight apprentice was something they could not hope for even at their best dreams.

Max wanted to think well about what he was going to say tomorrow to make sure all citizens could understand him. Before he could enter his capsule Valeria came over with a worried look and said: "The mage from the empire capital is here to see you. Do I let him in?"

Max furrowed his brows and said: "Let him in."

Soon Graham, the mage commander from the Ruth empire that made the negotiations with Max at the Victoria country entered the room. Nothing about him really changed. He was dressed in a luxurious robe and was in a good mood.

Max said: "Hello there, mage Graham! What brings your here?"

Graham said: "Well as the new king of a country that is located in the empire you need to swear allegiance to the empire and tell me the name of the country. After that there are few things that I have to talk with you about."

Max nodded and said: "No problems."

Graham told Max what to say and Max just repeated after him: "I, king Max swear allegiance to the ruling power of the Ruth empire, the Ruth family and I swear that I will not betray it. If I will then the ruling power of the empire have the right to declare a war against me, my rule and family and all my lineage will be exterminated. I swear to follow the commands of the Ruth family."

Max said it with no problems at all. It was not a spell. Not a vow that can cause a backlash. It was just something that all rulers of the countries did. Just to say a few sentences. He was sure that the ruling family of the empire went towards him so he will stay inside the empire to reinforce it. He was not a powerhouse on the level of the empire, but he was not weak either.

Even Graham was on the same power level as him.

After that graham said: "Alright, now you are the official ruler of this country. Level one countries change rule a lot in the empire and because of that the Ruth family don't really care about what going on as long and there is no mass killing and it helps the empire grow in strength or at least hone its warriors. If it doesn't help the empire the higher ups from the empire come and just nominate one of the noble families to rule the country. It just a way to keep the different countries stable."

Max nodded. He got the point that the ruling family did not care most of the time who really ruled the country as long as they don't do some crazy stupid shit. If they will do something crazy, they will get removed from the ruling throne by their people or by the Ruth empire. Those people were like managers in a big company.

Graham continued: "I was surprised by your performance during the last few days. I was sure you will win the battle for Alexandria and the throne, but it will be a bloody win. I was ready for thousands of citizens to die and half of the capital to be burned to crisp before you win. How did you create such impressive force of elites in such a short time?"

Max said: "Well thank you for the compliment. I am an alchemist. That is the main reason. Of course, the people worked hard too."

Graham eyes started to shine. An alchemist. It was not something that you could see in this empire a lot. There were around 5 alchemists in all of the empire. It was very hard to get any alchemical products in the Ruth empire. Even Graham did not have much.

Graham asked with a smile: "Every country needs to pay a fee to the empire every year. How do you want to pay it? You can pay it with alchemical products."

Max was not sure about that. He used a lot of resources and did not have much funds to pay but he did have a lot of alchemical products. A huge amount of them. Max asked: "What products can I give and what should be their quality? I can do health, mana and stamina potions as well as potions to increase the cultivation speed of knight apprentices and or mage apprentices."

Graham frowned and asked: "Can you explain more about quality?"

Max sighed and said: "The quality of the product will increase the efficiency of the effect of this product or if it's a cultivation speed buster for knight or mage apprentices it will increase the speed of cultivation. There are 5 main levels. Low, medium, high, peak and transcendant. Low level potions are giving a cultivation speed that is two times higher than usual, medium level products give increase of 4 in the speed and better proficiency for other types of potions, high levelled products give 16 times speed cultivation and higher proficiency, peak gives 64 times cultivation speed and transcendant gives 300 times cultivation speed and better effects for other types of potions. I can only create peak level potions at best. I don't have the ability to create transcendant products yet. Because the quality is different the price is different too."

Graham never heard of such things before, but he got the general point. Graham did not wait too much and said: "Generally the fee for level one countries is 50000 gold but if you want to pay it with potions it is 100 mana and 100 health potions of low quality."

Max was surprised by the high price for alchemical products, but he did not wait that much. He took out those potions that Graham talked about and instantly handed them. When Graham saw how quickly Max gave him the potions without even thinking and he saw that he fucked up.

When Graham saw the potions, he was surprised. He said: "Why are those potions so different from what I have?"

After saying that Graham took out health and mana potions that were different from what he was given. He was given a red and blue potion. The health potion was bright red. Like the color of blood and it was transcendant. The blue potion had the same properties. The potions that Graham had were of a little different color and had some small dots floating. The dots were very small, but still visible.

When Max saw this his inner alchemist started to swear loudly. He will not take such alchemist even as an apprentice.

Max answered with a frown: "Because this product is dogshit compared to mine. It did not even reach the low level. You see the dots floating there? Those are materials that were not dissolved are bad for the health and can even be toxic. They should be part of the potion if its successful and not float as dots or other things. The person that made it did not like you much, I guess. I would throw your potions if I was you. In low amounts this potion is good for healing and restoring mana, but if you drink it more than once in a while you will harm yourself for sure."

Before Graham could answer Max continued: "As for the country name we talked about. The new name is Yin Yang. It means balance in the place where I came from. As for the capital I will not change it from Alexandria. I like the name."
