4 Dead?

In the middle of an ocean, a boy could be seen drowning rapidly. His body had countless wounds..It was like all of the blood was sucked out of his body.

As he sank deeper into the ocean, a fish brushed past his body, swimming away.

Bubbles came out of its mouth as the fish started acting weird, moving around the water when it burst into a small pool of blood.

Noticing this peculiar occurrence, the sea creatures around the dead body became curious and walked towards it with caution.

What followed after that was a scene never seen before as every living being that touched him disintegrated or burst into a mess of flesh and blood.

This however, was overshadowed with what happened next.

The red color of Caedes' skin, his wounds and even the remaining scars around his body disappeared without a trace, if not for the torn pieces of cloth that clung to his body were dyed in blood; one would even doubt if what they saw previously was an illusion.

Drowning further and further, all that followed Caedes was death.

His eyes flickered open as he gazed at himself drowning deeper and deeper into the ocean,

"Why did I not die? He screamed internally, this was not what he wanted.

Caedes wanted to die, returning to the peace that people said they would get after obtaining death.

He wanted to live a happy life, to not be looked down upon, to be loved…

Although he knew that his thoughts were naïve and even childish to some extent, it wasn't entirely his fault though.

Just like when a person is very hungry, he could only satiate his hunger by eating food or when a beggar is poor, one of the few things he wants the most is money.

It is simply in our nature, to desire most what we don't have and we least cherish what we have.

The boy felt lost, who was he or better what even was he? How can someone just revive after dying? How can someone just make these creatures die after touching him?

He didn't know…

His eyes stared blankly at the dispersing light. Like a dragonfly trying to catch that seemingly small ray of light escaping from this world of darkness, Caedes felt like escaping this world as his life and hope faded away in this increasing absence of light.

This was the second time Caedes truly felt at peace, away from that world, a world where he was a loser, a world where he was frowned upon and a world where he couldn't do anything.

'Are all these weird powers within me related to that weird dream I had before the orientation? I have heard that when a person awakens his or her bloodline, they have the chance to view their ancestral god's memories… Not like I can do anything even if I knew anyways.,' The boy thought calmly.

He didn't know what to do next, was he supposed to act like nothing happened and come back or was he supposed to go there and show everyone he is not weak anymore? There was also the fact that he could breath underwater.

Would the people care for him then? After all, Raphael's father was only influential in this country in Egypt and there are many places he could go to and start a new life…

He thought so, but he didn't want to live again. To live without a purpose, not even knowing who his parents are, not knowing if he was even of this world or was, he someone who just came to the wrong place?

Caedes knew that he was just overthinking. This wasn't a fantasy where he could just make up things according to his convenience.

It was not like something would change by this fantasy of his anyways…

Would he have parents? No! Would he go back and gain everyone's support?

No! Is there anyone in this world he knows or could even call a friend? Lol- NO!

Then why did he have to live? Why can he not die? Could it be that he was immortal? Like just now when he was sure he died but now here he is again… Alive.

A blinding light flashed across the ocean, driving away from the darkness that had shrouded the sea.

Caedes screamed as he felt a few dozen of his bones being crushed by a sudden force beside him, his body crashed deep into the seabed as he slowly got back up and looked at the huge octopus in front of him.

The huge octopus glanced at the boy indifferently before once again raising its tentacles towards him.

The boy's bloodshot eyes met the creature as it glared at him, apparently even this creature wasn't immune to this weird phenomenon of touching him and dying.

As if angry the octopus appeared in front of him and swung one of its tentacles at the back of the boy with full force, resulting in the boy's upper body blasting into a mess of blood and flesh.

The creature thought that there would be some resistance when it hit the boy but to it's surprise, it seemed the boy only had the power to regenerate and not to defend.

Being thrown back with insane speed, the flesh of his torso crazily stitched itself until the boy was completed healed again. His eyes moved around his body as he felt no pain around his body this while…

Was it because the attack was too fast to register in his brain or something else?

"You can also try your luck in killing me, you overgrown octopus…"

Although Caedes said it without emotion, his words touched the creature's sore spot as an imaginary smile could be seen on its face.

A strange glint flashed past its octopus eyes as it glanced at the abnormal regeneration of the boy's body.

" If that's what you want. "
