59 A stupid dream

Luis had to meet with his vassals as he also needed to attend to the matters of his fief. That was why he simply sent me off with the carriage that fetched me on the Ross estate. My day went on like normal once I went home, meeting Marquess Ross to reassure him my audience with the Emperor and Empress went well.

I retched, scratching my neck as I felt this scorching pain in my throat. I was famished — thirsty. More than that, I was in pain. My entire body was on fire.

'Help.' I reached out to the figure standing beside my bed. I couldn't see his face, but I could see those pairs of rubies gazing down at me.
