Start of the Academy

It's now September, Timothy has always been busy. But I didn't do anything within the months he didn't visit the marquisate.

"Sammy, what are you doing?"

I'm creating something revolutionary in this world. Thanks to my authority 「True Eye」I could see Mana and how it works with it.

I've been making a glass that could do the same. And not just any glass. With alchemy, I have used different types of ingredients to make one.

From the volcanic tortoise glass shards, Geeky night bat, and a very rare Deep Phantom squid eyes.

"Something that might put me and the marquisate in danger."

"Wha- why?!" Ophelia exclaimed in worry.

"No, I'm just kidding. I'll give this to the Marquis so he can handle it. He could handle this better than I could."

When I finally finished it I raised it and turned off my True eye, I then looked at the Glass and looked through it.

When it displayed the same thing as my True Eye I yelled "YES!" as I successfully made this item. The Deep Phantom Squid is a very rare monster that only appears once every 50 years.

If they capture one, a few things are discarded from the monster because they deem it useless.

And one of them is the eyes. Which is discarded after failing to be an ingredient for so many trials and errors over the centuries.

The reason being? The missing ingredient that's mostly glossed over. The Geeky night bat. The ingredient from this is its eyes as well, not its ear.

The geeky night bat is mostly blind. But it still has its eyes, so what's the use of it if it's mostly blind? Well, it uses it to discern the accuracy of distance.

Just like how it uses its ears for echolocation, the geeky night bat uses its eyes to discern its prey by mana.

The geeky night bat uses its eyes to know the location of the prey and it uses its ears to discern the terrain and distance.

With that, I hold the Mana glass in front of me.

"Uh... Sammy?"

"cough! Oh sorry, " I feigned a cough. "Here Lia take a look"

I gave her the glass and she looked at it curiously. Then she took a look into the glass. The moment she did, her eyes were blessed with the sight of mana and she let out a noise.

"Woah!"

"That is mana, Lia"

"These... Are?! They're too colourful!"

"Yep!"

"How does this put the whole house in danger though?"

She asked curiously, to which I responded honestly.

"People over the years tried making an item that could fully see mana. If they knew that I made one they'll try and ask me questions, even worse abduct me."

"Eh?!"

"I've made a lot of things down the line Lia, I could very well be given a noble title at this point"

I'm not lying, some of my inventions are enough to advance the Empire by a few years, leaving the competition from other countries by a large margin.

Thanks to my inventions the livelihood of the commoners got even better and in turn made their work easier, having more workforce and improving the economy.

All that in 5 years. Five years were all it took to make the economy better.

Especially the Mind easing device I made especially for Ophelia. It was rather sold to the Officials of the Empire, improving their workforce by a lot.

The mind easing item is copyrighted by the Emperor so it's only exclusive to the Empire, not letting other countries have it, it's quite selfish I know but unless the Empire could prepare for an all-out attack from the western Empire. Which is Zantao.

The Pharaohs in the West are aiming for the Empire's fertile land, it's not like they don't have one, they have the most fertile land according to the landmass.

Anyways, this Mana Glass was something I've been working on since I wanted an excuse for how I managed to learn the properties of the sword Timothy gave me.

I already knew by the first month but I needed an excuse just in case someone tries to ask me questions. And that's also why Ophelia is here, I needed an alibi.

Now that I'm done with that all I have to do is pretend to work with my present. Which I already have ready, I want the morphing ability of the sword Timothy gave me.

So I studied it the moment it was given to me. I can't replicate the part where the sword would morph into a sword that best fitted you but I could at least copy the morphing part.

The sword I made can morph into two things. Sword of course and a diadem, one that shows a bluish gem in the middle. It's like those elven diadems in fantasy movies.

"Well, Lia, why won't we do something that you want?"

"Hmm… I have nothing on my mind though?"

"Not even chess… Jenga?"

"nope!"

She seems to be bored out of her mind, well there's no internet here so it's understandable why nobles mostly have some parties.

"Well is that so? Well, we still have time before I give my present to Tim, so…"

"Now that I think about it, how come that both of you managed to get closer?"

"Oh… uh… I guess… "

Yeah, since did we get close? At first, it was the thought of Lia being pressured that I wanted to pry off Timothy from her life then we just became friends so casually.

"I don't know either… well at least"

"Mm… I feel like you're going to get snatched away before I even—"

"Huh? Why?"

"Oh, uhm…"

She got flustered when she got interrupted. It seems she is thankful she didn't run off her mouth.

"The Prince is looking for talents you know?"

"Ah! I pretty much know that."

"Eh? Then you're still friends despite that? What if he invited you to join him in the palace?"

"That's not going to happen"

Ophelia tilted her head.

"Didn't I tell you?"

I lifted her chin and my finger.

"That I would stay by your side?"

"..."

Ophelia stood silently then she smiled with a blush.

"You're learning how to sweet talk from hearing The Crown Prince, aren't you… "

She then walked away, it seems she isn't going to look at me even if I called her pet name.

How adorable.

September 6 came and I gave the Prince my present. They think it's a legendary treasure as well but I only told them that the sword only has a self restoration as an enhancement.... Sharpening, mana induction, unbreakable, and the ability to become a shield if the user is in danger. But I'm not telling all that, Tim could find the features himself.

I was almost called by the Emperor if I didn't come to the Imperial palace when they were having a meeting.

Apparently, Timothy planned that because he knows how the Emperor acts.

2 more years passed by, And now we're in academy.

oof here we are. the academy.
