16 Thin line between sanity and insanity

Purple hurriedly slipped away since her job was done.

Leo Qin remained still as though he was seeing a ghost. The woman was holding a glass of red wine between the fingers of her left hand.

The evident shock on Leo Qin's face thrilled her.

"Handsome, you look familiar. Say, have we met before?"

Leo Qin involuntarily glanced at her body. Her dress had a deep v running through her seductive breasts and outlining her slim waist.

It made one's hands itch to grab her and pin her against the wall... or floor.

The high slit at the side did nothing to protect the modesty of her legs and thighs.

This was not the kind of outfit you would see CEOs wearing to their offices.

She was obviously here to seduce someone.

It's not that it was a crime but... seriously, there was such a thing as decency!

"The way you're looking at me, are you attracted to me?" Shera's voice snapped him back.

He regained his senses and admonished. "Are all women so unrestrained these days?"

Putting her wineglass aside, Shera stood from her seat, the sudden force making it swirl away as she sashayed towards him.

She sat on her desk and faced him, running her manicured nails gently across his chest. "You look solemn. What, you're not happy to see me?"

He looked at the fingers drawing circles on his chest and for a reason, he was annoyed. Did she often do this to men? For some reason, the thought of her acting like a temptress in front of another man irked him.

He took a deep breath and asked a question. "Did you call me here... so we can fight?"

Shera cocked an eyebrow and let out a low laugh. "You are taking advantage of my dress code today to challenge me, right? Let me tell you, I can fight while wearing anything."

He was already annoyed. "I know. Attire doesn't matter to you. You can even fight while wearing nothing."

"You can really talk." Shera harrumphed. "I'm not in the mood to fight."

Leo Qin raised her chin using his index finger, in an attempt to test her. "Then we can switch to another kind of fight."

Shera slapped his hand away before nonchalantly asking, "Which kind?"

"The kind where... you lose your breath and sweat faster. And it's even more enjoyable than kicks and blows. Most importantly...Most importantly, your attire today is more suited to this other kind of fight."

Shera was more annoyed than amused. "I want to know, why is your brain only filled with sex?"

Leo returned her mocking gaze. "Is it? It's only so when I'm with you. Shera Black, will you believe me if I say that I like you?"

The woman didn't answer, but the mockery in her eyes was obvious.

He coughed awkwardly and brought up another topic. "On a side note, I want to know why you're so evil."

Shera frowned. "I'm evil? You think I'm evil?"

Leo thought it best to be honest. "Think of the things La Rose Noire has done. Smuggling, swindling, stealing, murder...

Not to mention how toxic your own character is."

Shera Black looked at him silently.

"You're such a beautiful woman, and you're so intelligent. Don't you think such a stain in character is too hurtful?"

Shera Black was silent for a long time. For a second, Leo thought she was touched.

Then she chortled. "You're yet to see 'evil'. I will show you 'evil'." She didn't wait for him to answer. "Right, let's talk business."

She got down from the desk and pulled her chair then sat on it. Despite her dress, she had switched to business mode. "How about I wish us a happy collaboration?"

Leo Qin was taken aback by the sudden change of topic. When he caught up, he started hoping the situation wasn't as he was thinking. "You really bought SMF co?"

"You are an intelligent man, or so they say. Don't you think such a question downgrades your IQ?"

No matter how he thought about it, he couldn't comprehend why one would buy a company that was in debt. It was more likely to give her a loss than profit. Especially since she still needed to spend a lot of capital on this project. It was not even guaranteed that she could revive SMF co to begin with.

"Why did you buy it?" He asked.

"CT Corporation and The Qin Empire are rivals. How else would I make you partner with me, Mr. Qin? Don't look at me like I'm being unfair. All is fair in love and business, and I don't care about love so..."

Leo Qin couldn't believe he had been fooled by a woman. Of course, this only happened because the woman changed her minute in the last minute and altered the plan. "Why do you want me to work with you?"

The woman's gaze right now was like she was ready to murder someone. "I want to destroy the Qin family, and you are an important pawn."

Leo Qin laughed. She said she wanted to destroy the Qin Empire and was hoping to use him as a pawn, and she was even letting the pawn know her intentions? "There's a thin line between sanity and insanity and you are way beyond that line."
