33 2.3 How To Be A Vampire

[Teehee, your ass.] Lu Yizhou cursed begrudgingly. He thought that being an insignificant side character was already quite unpleasant but it turned out he was wrong. Lu Yizhou pressed on his temple and struggled to sit up. The unpalatable food he shoved into his mouth earlier had managed to regain his senses and he soon got used to the painful hunger albeit it still left a bitter aftertaste in his mouth. Looking around, he was glad that Raphael had chosen a relatively dim forestation that wasn't directly in contact with sunlight, otherwise his fate would have ended up like the villain did before he even met him.

[Do you have blood or something like that? Give me one. Anyway, why is Raphael so weak and hungry anyway? He hasn't eaten for weeks?]

[666: Umm...we don't have blood packs, Host. There's only Blood Restoration Pills that cost 5 points each.]

Lu Yizhou felt the pills appear in his mouth and he munched on them like candy pops. It tasted quite alright, kinda like a leftover meat but still acceptable. Sigh, it seemed like he had to survive through blood pills for a while because he couldn't imagine himself drinking blood from a person. After he had pad his stomach, his fangs vanished by itself and his limbs regained strength enough for him to stand up.

It was only then that he realized the rough surface he intended to lean on earlier was a piece of thick tree trunk. But now it was snapped clearly into two like lightning had just struck above it. Last time, he was a fragile CEO that couldn't even climb a few flights of stairs without panting and now, he was able to break a tree trunk just with a single touch?

Lu Yizhou didn't know what to comment regarding that. A depressed, immortal vampire who longed for death. How could he be similar to this kind of person—ah no, vampire?

A few gray areas had been lifted from the system store. Lu Yizhou could see a few new items and skills that sounded a tad cooler such as Healing Pill, Bow and Lightning Arrows (expensive as fuck and what's the use of it anyway?), Blood Restoration Pill which he ate earlier, and some new skills such as Dream Invasion, Charm Booster, Time Rewinder (only 5 seconds), Invisibility Cloak and Truth Detector. Of course all of them needed a huge amount of points to unlock for a short period of time.

He glanced at his equipped skills.

He let out a sigh and finally stood up, his attention was instantly pulled toward the curly midnight blue hair that hung above his waist. Lu Yizhou gingerly touched and pulled on it, feeling the force from his scalp. There was no mirror in this place so he couldn't imagine what he looked like right now. In the first place, he just couldn't get used to the heavy feeling on his head.

[I don't know anything about being a vampire. Will I die because of sunlight or eating garlic? What about my eyes? If I go out there, won't everyone know I am a pureblood?]

That sounded weird in more than one way. Nonetheless, Lu Yizhou still begrudgingly stepped out of the dense forestation. Fortunately, the sun had begun to set thus he had no difficulty in moving out of the forest, relying on only his own intuition. It was completely tranquil with only a few small, herbivore animals scurrying around. As soon as they caught sight of Lu Yizhou, they let out a long screech and dashed away for their life. Lu Yizhou stared at the animals, gulping. Should he try to drink their blood as a last resort?

Raphael's body felt very light and full of power, completely different from CEO Lu's body which got tired easily. He even felt like he could go on for days like this. And one more thing, his footsteps didn't make any sound at all. Again, he was reminded that he was no longer a human.

[How about it? Have you got a better signal?]

Lu Yizhou suddenly paused and held his breath. His ears twitched. A faint sound of footsteps entered his ears and it was quite magical because he could sense that the source came from around a few hundred meters away. In a split second, he made a decision and walked to the opposite direction of the sound.

[Have you downloaded it yet?] Lu Yizhou asked impatiently. Without knowledge of his own body, he had no intention of meeting anybody yet for fear that he would mess things up. He didn't even know how to erase a human's memory.

In the next second, another huge wave of information surged in Lu Yizhou's mind. He spent a few minutes digesting it and finally got the main gist.

Raphael was an ancient pureblooded vampire. He was one of the strongest and almost had no weakness. He could make direct contact with sunlight but not for long otherwise he would get dizzy just like an anemic person. He could also eat garlic or other human foods, just that it tasted disgusting and he had to vomit it all out thereafter or else he would get diarrhea. He feared no cross or wooden stake and holy water could barely burn him. The only way to kill him was for someone to devour his heart—which he had to gouge out willingly. Just like how it went in the original plot.

...Getting this kind of overpowered character, Lu Yizhou got mixed feelings.

He looked no different than any other humans except for the charisma and intoxicating beauty which vampires possessed. His eyes would only turn bloody red if he drank blood, to Lu Yizhou's relief. However, the majority of the pureblood didn't really like to drink blood because they deemed it unaesthetic. Instead, they liked to charm the person who drew their interest and...have sex with them to suck their life energy.

Lu Yizhou shuddered. Fortunately, Raphael could survive without eating for years.

So...the only choice laid on Lu Yizhou, would he—like Raphael—be able to endure the hunger if he were to mingle with humans?

...Maybe not. Lu Yizhou didn't really trust himself because he knew how impulsive he was. Well, maybe this time he would really spend most of his points on Blood Restoration Pills. Afterall, a beggar couldn't choose, right?
