32 2.2 Who Am I?

"Food..." Lu Yizhou gritted his teeth and breathed heavily. "Give me food…"

[666: F—Food? Okay, okay! Let's see what we have in the system store… There's a set of lunchbox for 10 points, chicken hamburger for 5 points, hotdog for 3 points—]

[Just buy everything, damn it!] Lu Yizhou roared impatiently inside his mind. Just imagining warm rice or stir fry meat in front of him was enough to make him salivating. His stomach gurgled loudly, it felt so awful he almost wanted to take a fist of soil and chewed on it.

[666: O—Okay! Hang on, Host! Don't die!]

[System notification: You have purchased a chicken hamburger! The remaining points you have is 1670. Thank you for your patronage!]

As soon as the chicken burger appeared on Lu Yizhou's palm, he instantly shoved it inside his mouth, disregarding the thin paper wrap. However, he hadn't even munched on it yet when he spat it back out, his brows knitted in disgust. [Fuck, tastes like unwashed socks...]

[666: U—Unwashed socks??? How can Host know what it tastes like—no, how can a burger taste like socks?!]

Lu Yizhou threw up acid after swallowing a piece of marshmallow which tasted so sour like rotten grapes. [The food you have in the store is too...unique.] He thought weakly, too tired to even form a word. He sprawled on the ground like a dead fish, staring up to the sky with a pair of blank eyes. [I'm hungry…] He licked his lips but then his tongue bumped against two sharp canines growing out of his teeth. Blood instantly oozed out of his tongue and the aftertaste left Lu Yizhou stunned.

It was... delicious. Compared to the beefsteak which tasted like vomit or the sandwich that had sand-like flavor, his own blood was almost heavenly.

Stupefied, he asked. [What...am I? Don't tell me…]

[666: Hehehe, sorry Host, but 666 has just received the world's plot aaand... you're right. It seems like you're not human this time. To be exact, you're a vampire :)]

Lu Yizhou shut his eyes, exasperated. [Why didn't you tell me sooner, you useless system?]

[666: Uwaaah it's not entirely 666's fault! This world is one that doesn't support the internet and the signal is so slow! 666 has just finished downloading the world's plot!] Then without any warning, the system dumped everything into Lu Yizhou's mind.

Once again, he was overwhelmed with such a heavy vertigo that he retched. Starvation...was much worse than a heart attack, he noted. He closed his eyes, enduring the discomfort and slowly digested the world's plot.

This was a fantasy world in the Medieval Era. The continent is occupied by two distinct races: humans and vampires. Throughout centuries, vampires had survived by drinking human's blood and in exchange, hunting vampires became a popular activity among mercenaries and wandering travelers. The two races fought tooth and nail, and the human race gradually got the upper hand due to their overwhelming numbers compared to vampires.

Scared that they would eventually go extinct, the vampires learned to hide their identities and wiped the human's memory after drinking their blood. As a result, it became more difficult to hunt them down. A strange, veiled peace has formed on the surface since then.

The world's villain was Theodore, a young master from an affluent family. He was an only child and in addition, he had a pair of wealthy parents who worked as trading merchants, making him grow up spoiled and arrogant.

When he was fifteen, his parents were brutally killed by the vampires in his own house and he survived with barely a breath hanging on the last thread. After that, his life turned for the worst. He had no skills and no one to rely on. His parents' wealth and riches were plundered by his greedy relatives and he ended up being sold as a slave.

Turning from one master to another, it wasn't until he turned nineteen that he met the protagonist, Jeffrey, the leader of a well known mercenary group called Gilith which was known for their main mission to kill the Vampire King and slaughter every single vampire in the continent.

Jeffrey took pity on Theodore and redeemed his freedom. In exchange, Theodore would become his servant for life. However, up to that point, the trauma from his parents' death and his masters' abuse had turned Theodore into a submissive, weak young man, the previous haughtiness and arrogance had long been eroded until nothing was left. Growing up beautiful just made the situation worse.

Such a person wasn't well received in the mercenary group that was filled with burly, vigorous, hot blooded males. Thus started another round of Theodore's nightmare where he became the sole sexual entertainment every single night. He lived through each day with despair, disgust and hatred; both at himself and those people who did unspeakable things to him.

It wasn't until they chanced upon the female lead that Theodore's life became a tad better. The female lead, Selina, was a dhampir—half vampire conceived from human father and vampire mother. She inherited nothing from her vampire mother except her beauty and it made her become a vulnerable target in the dangerous world. When Selina was almost sold as a slave, she was saved by Jeffrey at the nick of time.

As the world's protagonists, Jeffrey and Selina felt attraction the first instance they met. Seeing how she had nobody to rely on, Jeffrey offered to have Selina join his team mainly because he was interested in the woman. Selina also befriended Theodore as they were the weaker party in the group and a sense of camaraderie formed between them. It was the first time Theodore knew how it felt to have a friend.

At first, Jeffrey had no idea that Selina was a dhampir. It wasn't until an accident happened and Selina was injured, revealing her scarlet eyes that only dhampirs could have did Jeffrey realize that the woman he loved had been the kind that he hunted for all of his life.

That was the start of a forbidden love between vampire and human. It was a touching love story filled with overcoming obstacles to break the stigma and stay together for life. And the so-called obstacles–of course–referred to the villain, Theodore.

After being abused for a prolonged period of time, Theodore had grown fragile and sickly. The turning point was when Selina developed an urge for blood for the first time right after she stepped into adulthood. Left with no choice, Jeffrey knocked Theodore out and sent him to Selina. The intoxicated Selina was unable to hold herself back and overdid it.

Theodore died…

—and revived as a vampire!

A dhampir wasn't supposed to have the ability to turn a human into a vampire. However, Theodore's unwillingness, rage and regret became the source of fuel for him to crawl his way up from Hell; to seek revenge.

Mercenary group Gilith became his sole target. He took the pleasure of torturing those who had sexually abused him in the past; castrated them and shoved their crotches into their mouth, forcing them to eat it. Then, he slowly skinned and dismembered them, enjoying as life dissipated from their eyes. His cruel ways spread throughout the continent, angering not only the humans but also the vampires as the hard earned peace was broken yet again by the massacre.

The more Theodore killed, the stronger he became. He took the head of the Vampire King for himself and sat on the throne, waiting until Jeffey and Selina turned up in front of his doorsteps. He was waiting to laugh at their appalled faces and mock their ridiculous love.

How could a vampire and human be together? The former had robbed him of his home while the latter stripped him of his dignity and confidence. He hated both vampires and humans!

Theodore became too overpowered that nothing could defeat him. He descended on Earth like a devil incarnate, bringing blood and death in his trail, vampires and humans made no difference in his eyes; he got rid of those who stood in his way. The spoiled and innocent young master grew up to be a sinister, malicious man. He gradually lost sight of his revenge and only wanted to annihilate everyone!

Due to Theodore's excessive killing, the humans and vampires came to a cooperation for the first time. A union was formed to bring their common enemies down — the bloodthirsty Vampire King! An enormous army of two races was gathered with Jeffrey as the leader. He was loved, revered and respected.

The war became one that was recorded in history. The Goddess of Night, Nyx, who created vampires was enraged and saddened by Theodore's vicious soul. She blessed upon Jeffrey a holy sword that could kill the Vampire King: Nightfall.

With that, Jeffrey finally managed to defeat Theodore. His corpse ended up being bathed in sunlight for 49 days until he turned into ash to pay for his great sins.

The war concluded and the atmosphere between two races loosened due to that. They created a peace treaty and it was further solidified by the marriage of Jeffrey and Selina. Due to his great contribution and Goddess of Night's blessing, Jeffrey ascended as the Emperor whereas Selina became the vampire queen. Both of them were a role couple that was envied by everyone until many, many years later.

Lu Yizhou sighed after reading the plot. [Do you have something against the villain? Why must you make him suffer so?]

[666: W—What?! 666 doesn't know anything about it! Everything is the will of Admin God!]

[So, who am I?] He asked impatiently. [Another insignificant side character? A newborn vampire?]

666 giggled evilly. Hearing that, Lu Yizhou narrowed his eyes. He had a bad feeling about this.

[666: No-pe, your role is waaay better than last time! You, my dear Host, are the one who's hunted by Jeffrey and killed by Theodore in the original plot, the preceding Vampire King, Raphael.]
