3 The probem and The test

After lunch, Raj's father called him to the office to talk about something, so he went in and closed the door as his father instructed and sat down. Ramachandra looked at him for a few seconds silently and talked to him finally "Raj, honestly I'm glad that you've finally woken up and want to take responsibility, but I still need to have confidence in you and you have to prove it to me from now on"

Raj of course expected this, he knew his father wouldn't handover the business empire just based on a few words. So he was prepared and said to his dad "Pack-your-bags" his father was confused and said " what do you mean, where should I go?" hearing this Raj just laughed and said "no dad, it's a company based in our state, a travelling company which started with just around 600,000$ and now it's worth 6,000,000$ in just a few years. I believe with our reach and network at ARK industries, if we acquire this company we can easily grow it by at least 10 times in the coming years as well"

Ramachandra was again stunned, it looks like my son has finally grown up and already started thinking about the future of our company. He was happy but then thought of a problem and also a test. "OK son, I will look into this company as well and think about it. But right now we actually have some problem with cash, which I'll tell you after a sort of test I give you, you see in our industry it is important to be authoritative, and intimidating at times to keep the wolves at check. And right now a wolf cub wants a share in our company for what is a penny to us, I want you to meet him and refuse his insulting offer. Remember, this is your first test."

At this time Raj's mother who came into the room at some unknown time suddenly said "Raj, it doesn't matter if you pass or fail or even if you don't go, remember that this will always be your company, you don't have to prove yourself to anyone" and she stared angrily at father, Ramachandra just sighed and backed down

Raj got out of his seat, hugged his mother and said "oh mom, you're worrying too much, I'm your son after all, just leave these trivial matters to me, you'll see a new side of me" after that he just winked at his father to signal him that he has accepted the task and saved him from his mother, to which Ramachandra just nodded and was glad.

After Raj left the office with a file in his hand he looked at the content and smiled, he already knew who the wolf cubs were, Appala Naidu's son Paidithalli who controls the port. He already had a plan to deal with them so he didn't take it to heart and just let it go, anyway the meeting was tomorrow so he can chill, before that he called some people to get some information.

Such a big industry if it has to stay ahead, information is key and the contacts for that are always present. After that he was walking towards his room when he noticed Nandu's room was open so he just went in, he saw that Nandu was just sitting there and fiddling with her phone. Her back was turned towards him so she didn't notice Raj walking in, he came behind her and startled her by saying "BOO!" she screamed and turned around only to see Raj laughing

She looked at him and snorted "why are you here?" he could see her cheeks turning red, he just replied sadly "what, you don't like me being here?" she was a little startled and said "no no I didn't say that" Raj smiled and said "good, anyway what have you been up to for 2 years I was gone?"

She said "humph, what do you care, you just left and didn't even care about me" Raj smiled and said "that's not true, you don't know how often I thought about you, why do you think I came back so early? Just for the family business? You know that will always be there with my name written on it, but I just didn't want to stay away from you for one more minute so I came back early"

Everyone in the family knew Raj was the sole heir of ARK industries so what he said was true indeed, listening to this, Nandu went blank for a few seconds and had tears in her eyes she didn't think for a second that he was lying because there was no need for him to lie. And Raj was indeed sincere with his confession because Nandu was always there for him even when he was timid and stupid, so it was only right he took care of her now. Nandu finally came back to her senses and said finally "at least you realized it now finally, you better take good care of me from now on" and then just left her own room

Raj just laughed and went out too, there's one last person he wanted to talk to before the day ends.
