Back to being poor again

Waking up from his small nap, Frost found himself still in the same room as earlier.

"I'm hungry... Do the kidnappers give food to their prisoners? I hope they will."

With hunger continuously striking him, he decided to look around the cupboard near the door.

As soon as he opened one, he immediately found weird looking cups with paper covering it. Curious what those cups are, he took one.

"Instant... Noodles? If they are noodles, it should be some type of food. But how to open this?"

Examining a cup of Instant Noodles, Frost quickly noticed a small, rounded triangle on the lid, accompanied by the words 'Tear here.'

Following the instructions written, Frost tear off the lid from the Instant Noodles.

"So, what should I do next?"

Earlier, Frost seemed to have seen some sort of illustration with instructions on the label of the cup.

"Add boiling water until the indicated line, then wait for 2-3 minutes... How to boil water? Can I perhaps use my magic here?"

Even after examining the whole well furnished prison, there seemed to be no water resources.

Then he remembered that he was a mage, as an 8th Circle Mage he could at least use a spell to create fire and water.

"Let's try putting water on the cup first," with that said, Frost pointed his finger inside the cup as he recited the spell. When his incantation worked, he gave a sigh of relief. "At least the kidnappers didn't put any device on him that restrains his magic."

As water flowed out from his fingers, Frost carefully poured the water into the cup, stopping at the indicated line.

When he finished, he concentrated his mind again in order to cast a 1-circle magic spell to conjure a small flame in the palm of his hand and directed towards the water. When the water inside began to bubble and steam, he put the paper lid back on the cup.

"Alright, now I only need to wait for 3 minutes."

He put the cup down on the table and waited while tapping his fingers impatiently. As the minutes ticked by, he glanced around the room again, searching for something to pass the time.

His eyes landed on an old, worn out thin book left on a nearby table. Curiosity piqued, Frost picked it up and began to read. It was some sort of newspaper but colored.

"Is this a colored newspaper? Those kidnappers are generous. They even provided a newspaper to pass the time."

After reading a page, he checked the cup of noodles.

"I think this is good."

Using a fork he found on the table, Frost gave the noodles a quick stir. Then, taking a cautious first bite, he was pleasantly surprised by the taste. It was too delicious, something he never tasted.

"These kidnappers are fancy, they even provided a delicious meal! If Landell ever found me, I should let these kidnappers become my chef if they want to survive."

Frost devoured the instant noodles, savoring each bite. As he ate, he couldn't help but marvel at the ingenuity of the simple yet satisfying meal. With his hunger satisfied, he leaned back.

"Hmm... there seemed to be a cabinet full of Instant Noodles like this. It seems like I would be enjoying my stay in this prison."

Having nothing to do after eating, Frost decided to try going out of the door using his Magic. Since he was able to use it, he could just blast it off towards the door.

"What spell should I use? Since it's made of metal, perhaps an explosive spell would work... though that might alert the kidnappers. Maybe melt it with a very hot fire?"

With his decision set, he used a 5-circle magic spell this time. Creating immense hot fire directed towards the door.

However, there was something Frost didn't know. The proximity of the cooking area to the door meant a gas pipeline for the stove was present.

When the fire reached it out, it caused a big explosion that sent him flying backwards.

Before Frost could realize what happened, he passed out due to the intense pain.

***

Opening his eyes, Frost found himself looking at the worried eyes of Landell.

"Landell…?"

'Did Landell save?'

The first thing that came to his mind was that Landell saved him from the kidnappers, this was the best explanation he could think of in his current situation.

"Master! You finally wake up! When you passed out because you launched yourself towards the mountain of gold, I was very worried!" Landell said as tears fell from his eyes.

"Didn't someone kidnap me?"

Confused at the words of Landell, Frost asked for clarification. He remembered waking up in an unfamiliar place earlier and now he was back in his own room.

His wide, spacious room filled with luxurious decorations (that at some point he thought of selling in order to get more money).

Upon hearing the words of his Master, Landell's eyes got bigger because of shock. Was his Master not confident in his strength? Did he need more training?

"Master, if that's how you say that I should go do some more training… I shall heed your words. I must have Master's confidence in me."

Due to the current situation of Frost, Landell didn't immediately went out and go training. He stayed with him in order to attends his needs. Currently, they don't even have any doctors. Only he could take care of his Master.

Although Frost was an immortal Half-blood fairy, he was like any other human in the first place. He could feel pain, hunger and tiredness. The only difference was that he couldn't die.

'So, that was just a dream…?'

Though he dreamed something weird, it was good that it wasn't anything real.

"How's the invasion going, Landell?"

At his Master inquiry, Landell enthusiastically started reporting what happened.

"Master, you passed out for 2 hours. Since then, the second wave of the invaders was defeated. However, there seems to be no signs of the invaders stopping currently."

"So I passed out for 2 hours, huh… I see. Did you put all the gold coins inside the treasury?" Recalling that he had passed out due to 'swimming' in the mountain of Gold coins, he hoped that Landell would have put them all on the treasury. He honestly didn't want to see any gold coins around.

"Don't worry Master! I asked the blacksmith in the immortal world to smelt those gold coins! You will never see them again. Those gold coins… how dare they hurt you."

As soon as Frost heard the words of Landell, he thought that it was better to have him kidnapped than to stay here with Landell. This loyal subordinate was making him go crazy.

Once again, the Villain, who passed out due to swimming in a mountain of gold coins, was back to being poor.

'Well, at least the gold remained... but not in coins anymore!'
