Yet one day as I woke up , what closed in from my eyes were not the cockroaches of my apartment but a luxurious room. Countless servants, meals that seemed like feasts, and elegant clothes awaited me each day. Yet not everything that shone was gold, as I soon discovered that I had transmigrated inside the body of Favian Delecroix, the first and weakest villain of the novel '' The Call's of Narain''. Unfortunately for me , the damage was already done , as upon myself I had invoked the ire of the main character of the novel, someone I had no hope to beat if I was to remain as I was. Nonetheless, I was determined to overcome the challenges presented by this unexpected opportunity, and I vowed to do everything in my power to survive the perils and make the most of this second chance at life. Chapter 69: Maalkaroth's dream

Maalkaroth pov:

The great king was on the table his white and black eyes watching the fire that danced from his open palm, when he received the new. He reveled in the power of his creations, so in awe and admiration that he could watch entire forests turn to ash, people burned at the stake like chickens, with not even a passing glance from his adoring king. The pleasure he derived from sharing this love with those unworthy unbelievers, who were only fit to be killed and consumed as supper, was unmatched.

My great king had countless ways of expressing his passion for fire. Whenever we conquered a village, town, or castle, it was the duty of the general to send 10 virgins to our great king as tribute. It was deemed a great honor to be chosen by him. But these helpless maidens never understood the true generosity of my great king. When he showed his love, he would grasp their trembling hands and showcase his fiery prowess in a display of affection.

From the first to the last of those women, my great king always offered them freedom if they could fulfill his desires without uttering a sound. His fingers intertwined with theirs as he led them to his bedchamber, promising them a world beyond their wildest dreams, and some moments later they always screamed . None of those prostitutes ever showed him the same love and devotion that he showed them. In the end, they were all cast aside and sent to be used by the vile goblins, orcs, and trolls.

However, the great king's mercy did not only extend to these lowly creatures. The prisoners of war, the strongest and bulkiest men, were also brought before our great ruler. They were forced into a match of arm wrestling against our king, but none ever stood a chance against his brute strength. Yet despite their defeat, our king took pleasure in hearing their screams of pain as they held their burnt and mangled hands.

.

Our great king was known for his unwavering love and compassion towards his sons, even in times of failure or weakness. His heart overflowed with such warmth that he never failed to remind them of his unconditional love. But as much as he desired to show this same love towards Alzaroth, the presence of that insidious worm named Favian seemed to prevent it from fully shining through.

That lowly creature dared to kill Alzaroth, the only thing that prevented me ,amongst those dogs and monkey from cutting his neck ,was the fact that when the new was given to the king , for the first time in years he smiled .

His smile was so full of love that my legs trembled in anticipation. The mere thought of receiving such an expression from him filled me with excitement. I always longed to fulfill every need of my king, and the idea that he could show such affection towards someone else made my blood boil with anger. Yet, I dare not ruin his source of joy, as he will soon come and share it with that ungrateful outsider – the fortunate bastard.

The heavy thud of horses' hooves carried us forward, flanked by two guards who were tasked with protecting me at all costs. My mind was consumed with thoughts of the king, my liege , my ruler and sun. Suddenly, one of the guards spoke up, breaking my reverie.

"My lord..." His voice was hesitant, as if he feared my reaction.

"What?" I grumbled in an angry tone, annoyed at the interruption.

"We have reached our destination, my lord. You have been on your horse for quite some time and the king has sent word for you to meet him immediately." His words jolted me out of my thoughts and I felt a surge of adrenaline.

-Thud- Without thinking, I slapped the guard on his helmet, the sound echoing through the air.

"THE KING CALLED FOR ME AND YOU DID NOT TELL ME IMMEDIATELY?" I shouted, giving him another slap for good measure. "I WOULD BE KILLING YOU IF IT WOULD NOT CAUSE ME TO LOSE SECONDS." With those words, I dismounted from my horse and started running towards my king's location without a second thought. The smell of fresh grass and earth filled my nostrils as I pushed myself harder, eager to reach my destination and fulfill my duty to my king. His gaze was the only thing that gave me purpose in this world.

The castle's dark walls loomed like giants, terrorizing the horizon. Inside, whispers of my name echoed, and I could feel the eyes of others upon me.

As I approached the throne room, the halls and rooms were filled with the whispers and laughter of his other servants minions. They all knew of my love for their king, and they feared me for it. But I saw them as nothing but obstacles that stood between me and the fulfillment of my king's wishes.

With bated breath and quivering hands, I finally reached the grand doors of the palace. Taking a deep breath to steady my nerves, I rapped on the door and spoke in a respectful tone, "Your majesty, you have summoned me?" A coarse and authoritative voice responded from within, causing my entire body to tremble at its sheer power.

As I entered the throne room, I immediately locked eyes with my king's striking white and black gaze. Without hesitation, I dropped to the ground and pressed my forehead against the cold floor in a show of submission.

"I apologize for my actions, my king," I spoke with a trembling voice, fearing his punishment for any supposed transgressions against him.

However, he did not answer me right away. The oppressive silence hung heavy in the air until his gracious voice finally broke through once more.

"How was he?" His words were directed towards me but there was no need for clarification. I knew exactly who he was referring to.

"He is a worm who is too arrogant for his own good,"I replied without hesitation, knowing that honesty was expected of me. "He dared to insult Alzaroth and myself. He even boasted about using Alzaroth's skull as a bowl to clean his teeth. His insolence knows no bounds."

For a few moments, an uncomfortable silence filled the room before my king spoke again.

"Your grace," I said softly ''One words and I will pluck his head from his neck''

''Not yet, he is still not ready and I shall be the one to do so, he Is still not ready , let him nature a bit before the ripe...''

As he spoke, I could feel the weight of shame pressing down on me. How could I have misunderstood our great king's wishes? Death should be my only companion for such a mistake.

But deep down, buried beneath all fear and shame, a small ember of ambition burned within me. One day, I swore to myself, one day I would be the one to receive that intense stare from my king. No one else was worthy of such an honor but me, not any other servant and certianly not that worm.

One day, Maalkaroth, you will be the one that our great king shall love for all eternity. That was my ultimate goal and I will stop at nothing to achieve it.
