6 The Clan Genius

Once they arrived at the village gates Erik and Erling quickly headed for Sigurd, who was already on standby. Sigurd had Erling lay the passed out Erik on the bed he cared for his patients in. While examining Eriks' body and found the boy had several broken ribs and dislocated his arm. Sigurd treated Erik the best he could and told Erling that it would take at least a week for the boy to awaken and another week for him to heal completely.

Several days went by and Erik had finally been awoken by an excruciating pain. He had started to cry and after a few moments Sigurd came in and told Erik to bite down on a soft rod that had anesthetic on it. Five minutes later Erik had fallen back into his slumber.

Now another week went by and Erik was finally able to be awake without the excruciating pain that had awoken him before. The first thing he did was ask VICKI why had he been in so much pain.

{Sir, the bloodlust skill negates all injuries but when its effects are over all injuries pain levels are doubled due to the backlash of the skill} responded VICKI.

{I advise heeding my warning next time when telling you to evacuate.} said VICKI in a condescending tone.

He ignored the sly remark of VICKI and tried to sit up but he couldn't move. Erik then asked VICKI if she could do anything to help him heal faster.

{I am here to make sure you stay alive and that is all you must be wary of obtaining injuries but don't be disappointed because humans in this work heal fifty percent faster than those of your previous world.} said VICKI.

{Host will completely heal in four more days.} explained VICKI.

(What a relief.} Erik thought.

As he finished him conversation with VICKI, Sigurd walked in to see that Eriks' pain had substantially decreased. Sigurd then sent for one of his apprentices a young lady named Mist to fetch the Jarl. After around twenty minutes Erling came flying through the door and was about to give him a great big hug but Sigurd stopped him reminding him of his sons' injuries.

"How are you feeling little Tyr." Erling said jokingly.

"I feel better father but still cannot move." Erik said gritting his teeth.

After checking up on his son he turned to Sigurd and gestured him out of the room. The next thing the Jarl did shocked Erik, he thumped Erik so hard on his forehead that he almost passed out again.

"What you did was brave little one but never go out on your own like that again until you grow up and become proficient in weapon handling." Erling said in a strict tone.

"Yes I promise I won't do it again father but I couldn't sit Idle and watch mother die like that." retorted Erik.

"What do you mean? There is no cure known to man for this Illness known as Reaper." said Erling in a sadder tone.

"There wasn't but I did research and I found a cure for mother. Once I use the DragonLeef I collected and mix it with honey she will be better than ever.' responded Erik.

"NONSENSE!! BLASTPHEMY!! NOW STOP THESE LIES!" said Erling as he stormed out of the room Erik was in.

Erik who was now slightly confused now started to think of why his father acted the way he just did. He didn't really have time to think about that, first he had to heal up and get out of the infirmary. Now that he was awake the next four days went by so slow that he thought he was going to die from boredom. Sigurd brought him three meals everyday since he couldn't move that well but on the fourth day of being awake he felt like a whole different person.

Erik now rushed back to the longhouse and start the process he thought up for the cure for Reaper. He knew basic science from his previous life so firstly, he crushed the DragonLeef up in a mortar. Next, he added it to water and started the process of dripping and once the dripping was complete he added it to the honey. Finally, he crystalized the mixture so his mother would be able to swallow it easily.

"VICKI will this drug work to cure Reaper?" Asked Erik curiously.

{There is a Ninety-Four Percent Chance of Success} said VICKI.

Now that it had been confirmed by VICKI that the drug would work, Erik dashed towards the Infirmary. He arrived at the Infirmary and pushed passed Sigurd and his apprentices, he slowly walked over to his mother and put the pill in her mouth. He then told her to swallow and she did.

Freyas' skin was no longer pale and her breathing had slowed down. All Erik had to do now was wait for a few hours and check up on her then. Since he had no concept of time he had VICKI set a alarm for fours hours. After, the alarm went off he told his father he wanted to visit her with him.

Erling had some business to handle but afterwards he grabbed Erik and they set off for the Infirmary. Once they got there Erling fell to his knees and Sigurd told all of his apprentices to go home for the day.

Infront of Erlings' very eyes was Freya sitting up in the bed now full of color and life.

"How is this possible? How are you well?" Asked Erling breaking down once again.

"It was Erik he gave me something and after a few hours my eyes started to open and I was no longer feeling ill." Freya responded.

He turned and looked at Erik and hugged his son. He then asked Erik how he did it and Erik explained to him once again how he did it.

Meanwhile Sigurd, Freya and Erling now looked at this three year old and thought that he was no normal child. Erling and Sigurd knew this already to boy could speak full sentences as if he were an adult and he was always reading. What three year old fluently speaks and reads a language. It was like they were graced by the gods with this boy.

VICKI now spoke once again {Sir you have now unlocked the knowledge for basic guns, cannons and medicine with System Level 2 along with technology from that era. More skills have unlocked for the young master to explore through.}

Erling shouted,' Once again my boy has done the impossible and now we celebrate the recovery of one of my most treasured loved ones."

"Our boy is a Genius Freya and he shall lead the Phoenix Clan into new heights." said Freya.
