Vidraru Lake

In the place where Lake Vidraru is now, there used to be a village community, whose inhabitants were engaged in forestry, tourism, trade, or were simple animal breeders, as stated by the former deputy mayor of Arefu commune, Gheorghe Buzoianu. When the dam was completed, the builders began to fill it with water, which led to the evacuation of all those who lived in the small community located on the bottom of the lake. Some locals were relocated, while others wanted to dismantle the houses and rebuild them, near the village of Campana. There are legends circulating in the area, according to which many people refused to leave their households and died underwater. Moreover, several locals in the area said they saw them often, crosses coming to the surface and floating on the water. Note: This place exists in real life, but the action has happened here is just a myth or a rural legend.
