Flashback

The boy sat at his usual table in the cafeteria with his head lowered as everyone else ate their lunch or just left. He was alone today. The other people around him had been so kind to him during his first few weeks here, giving him food, laughing with him on their walks, being nice to him. But it didn't last. They soon forgot about him and they all decided to treat him like an object and not be nice to him, instead making fun of him for being such a cry baby. They made fun of his hair because of his big, dark eyes, and they made fun of the colour his hair was. They'd laugh as if it wasn't even there, calling out things like "look what we have here Victor", or "you're lucky you're black, otherwise your hair would be green". That's when it started to get really bad.

Victoz never wanted to admit it, but he was bullied. He couldn't help himself. His parents always told him that he should be proud of who he looks like, but it wasn't true. If anything it only reminded him more that others were better than him. It was all too easy to forget the bullies when his friends, whom he considered his best friends, weren't around. Then, one day he met a girl. Not a lot of people came from rich families so meeting someone new was exciting. Her name was Katsuki Yuuri, and she was kind, beautiful and funny. Victor immediately felt drawn to her, although he still didn't know why. She had a soft voice and bright, beautiful brown eyes. He thought maybe they could become friends after a while but she quickly turned into a bully and called him a freak. At that moment, Victor lost all faith in humanity. Sure, some of his classmates were mean, but they didn't make him feel any worse. And sure, the bullies at school were mean but they weren't exactly good people either. Still, seeing another person treated badly just pushed Victor over the edge, and he lashed out against them, telling people what he thought of them. As time passed, he grew increasingly close to Yuuri, and he found himself looking forward to his next class and wanting to walk home together.

As his friendship with Yuuri grew closer, Victor began to see her less often until he hardly saw her anymore. In fact, almost every day, he wouldn't see Yuuri at all. Even his friends stopped talking to him, saying things like "You can't talk to your friends anymore because we don't want you hanging out with those losers anymore." This hurt him more than he let on. He was sure Yuuri cared about him, but he couldn't stand to be seen with such awful people, especially by her. So, without a second thought, he cut ties with his only friend and tried to get used to the fact that he was alone again. But before long, he realised that he hadn't changed much since they were little. Instead of finding happiness, he found anger, bitterness and resentment towards the world around him, which only made everything worse. He was angry at everyone for being mean to him; at his family for letting him down so many times; at Yuuri, for not understanding how lonely he was and for treating him like dirt.

But despite these feelings, Victor continued to live as normal. Despite all of the terrible things happening to him, Victor knew that he wasn't evil. He may have done stupid things to others, and yes, he got angry at the wrong people and did some horrible things, but he always managed to overcome this anger and return to what had once been. Victor had learned to forgive, but he was nowhere near being okay. Still, the pain and hatred he'
