was able to keep quiet the entire time that his mom kept fussing over him and his sister while making little comments and comments that would usually make the younger boy laugh. Victorz found it difficult to remain awake and focused as Alex and he spoke in hushed whispers in order to avoid being overheard by their family. After an hour of this, his eyes began drooping. He closed his eyes and leaned his head back against the couch cushion. He could barely hear his brother talking to Alex as his eyelids became heavier and heavier. After what seemed like less than five minutes, he felt the familiar pull at the bottom of his stomach, signaling that he was ready to travel back to wherever the hell it was that they were headed. Before he even had a chance to say goodbye, his body felt lighter than it ever had, and without even really realizing it, he drifted off back into unconsciousness. For the remainder of the night, his dreams went on the same path as before: waking up in a cold sweat, staring at the dark ceiling above him for a few moments before falling back asleep. Eventually, however, he found himself starting to feel more relaxed and more comfortable sleeping. The images that flashed behind his eyes began to fade away, and he finally allowed himself to fall into a peaceful sleep. The first thing that Victorz woke up to was the sound of his alarm going off, and the sight of light coming through the windows of the bedroom he was laying in. He groaned slightly, pulling the blanket further up to cover his head before he opened his eyes again. He didn't really feel like getting up. He'd slept a whole lot more than he usually did, meaning that he had slept deeply enough to wake up refreshed but also well enough to stay asleep. He had to admit that he was very grateful for that. As he lay in bed, he contemplated what had happened yesterday. A lot had changed. He had lost control over everything, and it was the best thing that ever happened to him. But it was also the worst, for the worst always happens in the end and in every scenario that he had dreamed of, the outcome had always ended in a painful death or a broken heart. He hoped that it wouldn't come true this time. He hoped that they would manage to escape alive with their lives. If only. He thought that, in the end, nothing truly matters except happiness, for he knows that his life is better off as long as he feels happy. If anything were to happen to him and his siblings because of him, then there was no point in continuing living. He got up and slowly walked out of the bedroom and started searching for breakfast to eat. When he came across the kitchen he stopped briefly to see if he could find anything else edible; nothing was left on the table, so he decided to just start eating from the box that his mom had brought home from the grocery store yesterday evening. He put it in front of him and took a deep breath before opening it. When he was able to find two pieces of toast on one of the plates, he took his time to chew on each one slowly in order to savour each bite. His stomach growled loudly in response. He finished quickly and washed his plate and the empty box with cold water. With the dishes clean he went back to his room, put on a pair of grey sweatpants, a loose fitting black T-shirt, and grabbed his favorite jacket. After closing the door behind him, he started walking down the corridor, heading to the staircase. Once he reached the stairs he began climbing them as quietly as possible. Although his mother and brother were still asleep he didn't want to wake them up just yet. After all, it was too early for breakfast and he didn't want to risk ruining his appetite. Once he reached the landing he glanced up and down the hallway.
