9 Chapter 7

A soft yet chilling voice echoed through the room that made Yu Yingyi's hair stand straight up.

"Who is there?" asked the voice.

Yu Yingyi didn't know what to say and stood still in front of the entrance to the room, she didn't know whether to walk in or leave. She couldn't even see where the voice came from.

"Why're you just standing there? Are you going to come in? It's not like I'm going to bite you, torture you, or kill you or anything." said the voice.

However, that only made Yu Yingyi more cautious considering the voice didn't have to be extra. As she walked into the bright room, there were a few clicks that could be heard and the room instantly brightened.

The room was completely different from the palace, the walls were white giving everything a bland atmosphere. There wasn't anything luxurious in the room, instead, it was filled with things everyone had.

Yu Yingyi could tell this room wasn't well designed, the shelves, the drawers, everything was placed randomly in the room. It made her really wonder if this room was actually part of the palace cause it seemed too different.

"Are you going to keep staring around?" asked the voice.

Yu Yingyi immediately focused back on the voice, she was now able to locate where she was, and never expected this was her.

The woman in front of her was Song Liya's twin, Song Feng Mian.

In the novel, Song Feng Mian only appeared when it was ending. When Song Liya finally became empress, that was when Song Feng Mian finally showed herself.

It was said that Song Feng Mian always isolated herself from everyone due to her always being in her sister's shadow, which was what everyone thought.

Song Feng Mian was forcefully isolated by her mother, Song Diayu, the empress. Her mother always made Song Feng Mian stay in her room and made her study countless books.

Song Liya was already a renowned genius when she was only eight years old, however, Song Feng Mian didn't have anything like that, she didn't have any talent in anything. But she was fine with it, but her mother wasn't.

Song Diayu wanted both daughters to be praised by everyone, however, only one of them was praised and the other one was kept in a room studying endlessly.

Nevertheless, Song Feng Mian listened to her mother and didn't complain since she knew how her mother could get. Ever since then, Song Feng Mian has always stayed cooped up in her room, away from society, and studied all the time.

Yu Yingyi never thought she would run into her this early into the novel, perhaps getting lost was a good thing. However, she seemed more social than what was said in the novel.

"Hello? Are you okay?" asked Song Feng Mian.

"A-ah! Yes, I'm fine. I'm just surprised cause..."

"Cause of how my room looks? I get what you mean since it's different from the palace itself and looks really bland," said Song Feng Mian as she pointed around the room and added, "And I look exactly the same as the first princess. We're twins."

Yu Yingyi's brain stopped working for a moment, she didn't expect Song Feng Mian to be so blunt about everything.

"I see, I'm Yu Yingyi-"

"I know who you are, you're my sister's future bride, aren't you?" asked Song Feng Mian.

"Yep, I'm surprised you knew who I am," said Yu Yingyi.

"Haha! You'd be surprised at how fast information is passed around the palace, it even made its way here in this room no one ever passes by," said Song Feng Mian as she stared at Yu Yingyi.

Yu Yingyi felt like needed to say something and said, "This was my first time coming to the palace so I got lost. I tried asking the people but they didn't even look at me."

"Pfft! Hahaha!" Song Feng Mian laughed.

Yu Yingyu was confused and asked, "What's funny?"

"Of course they won't look at you! Look at the way you're dressed and you're also a commoner." Song Feng Mian teased.

Yu Yingyi looked down at herself, her clothes were all dirty and tattered, she should've asked Song Liya where her clothes were before running away.

"Anyways, I'm Song Feng Mian, I'll give you a makeover and give you a map of the palace," said Song Feng Mian.

Yu Yingyi already liked Song Feng Mian better than Song Liya, she was much more nicer.

"But it's not for free." Song Feng Mian added.

'I should've known better...they're twins after all.' thought Yu Yingyi.

"Is there anything I can even give you?" asked Yu Yingyi.

"Of course, just let me play with you and our deal will be secured." Song Feng Mian replied.

"Play?"

"Don't worry about it, since our deal is now made, I'll give you a complete makeover," said Song Feng Mian.

Before Yu Yingyi knew it, she was now sitting on a chair while Song Feng Mian was doing her magic. Yu Yingyi couldn't even see what she was doing since there was no mirror, she could only hope Feng Mian was actually making her look good.

"And there!" Song Feng Mian said as she added the last few finishing touches.

"Thank you, but how am I supposed to see how I look like?" asked Yu Yingyi

"Right, I forgot about that."

Song Feng Mian went towards her bird and pulled out a small mirror from under her pillow.

"Here you go."

Yu Yingyi took the small mirror from her and started checking herself out, surprisingly, Song Feng Mian did one hell of a makeover, she looked as if she came from an imperial family.

It turns out Song Liya was right when she said her beauty could rival one of the heiresses!

"Did you do this before cause something like this couldn't be done by even professionals," said Yu Yingyi.

"Of course not, I have plenty of time to do research about these things since I'm always in my room," said Song Feng Mian.

"Amazing..." Yu Yingyi muttered.

"As I thought," Song Feng Mian said as she grabbed Yu Yingyi's chin, "Your beauty really could rival women from imperial families," she added.

"Huh?"
