Chapter 1: Transmigration

Lu Jun found himself in the world of Versatile Mage.

"It's quite a predicament. In this parallel world, much like our Blue Star, there are demons soaring the skies, and magic is at its peak. Even though humans are at a significant disadvantage, they're still entangled in internal conflicts, making it one of the riskiest worlds," he sighed, lowering his head.

Touching his necklace pendant, he gazed at a metal ornament made of white gold. It resembled a white tiger lying down, emitting a radiant glow and feeling cold and solid to the touch.

This pendant was a souvenir from Lu Jun's trip to the White Tiger Ridge Linjun Tomb Scenic Area in Bashu.

In the legends of the Blue Star, the four sacred beasts—Azure Dragon, White Tiger, Black Tortoise, and Red Vermilion—held the highest significance, especially among full-time mages. These creatures were considered friendly to humans and were thought to represent the pinnacle of power in the world.

The original timeline's protagonist, Mo Fan, possessed an azure pendant that resembled a sleek black loach. Over time, it evolved into a significant advantage, combining the power of the Red Vermilion totem to save the world.

Interestingly, the Black Tortoise Totem had long been in decline and was inherited by a supporting character, but the White Tiger Totem had never made an appearance until now.

"I only wanted a replica to show off. Who could have guessed that I'd receive the real deal?" Lu Jun mused. Mo Fan had obtained the Azure Dragon Pendant before his time-travel adventure, and now Lu Jun found himself with the White Tiger Pendant. It seemed like this pendant might be the key to his success, granting him the power of the White Tiger Totem.

Thankfully, in his previous life, Lu Jun had lived comfortably and had no pressing concerns. So, when he found himself in this world, he embraced the opportunity to wield supernatural powers and magic without hesitation.

"That White Tiger Pendant... Mo Fan started with the Azure Dragon Pendant and eventually challenged an unfair world. Why can't I follow my own path?" Lu Jun breathed a sigh of relief. Mo Fan might have had his flaws, but he always carried a sense of justice, even if it led to trouble.

"Lu Jun, it's time for dinner!"

A gentle female voice echoed from downstairs, momentarily stripping Lu Jun of his pride and enthusiasm. It was time to get accustomed to his "family."

Lu Jun pursed his lips. Unexpectedly, he had gained a non-blood-related sister due to his parents' combined family. Both of their parents had been junior magicians and died during a demon mission seven or eight years ago. This sister became his anchor and nurturer.

However, their personalities, thoughts, and daily habits were nearly identical due to their shared position. He was the same person, but he now possessed the memories of his past life.

At fifteen years old, having graduated from junior high school, Lu Jun gazed at his reflection in the mirror. His black hair framed a somewhat youthful face that hinted at future handsomeness. He wore a black and white short-sleeved shirt, along with the white tiger pendant around his neck.

"True charm comes from within. Even after transmigrating, I'll remain as handsome as I was in my previous life."

Lu Jun smiled to himself and responded to his sister, "Sure, I'm coming down."

After a quick check in the mirror, he carefully tucked the white tiger pendant into his shirt and descended the creaky wooden stairs. His parents, both magicians, had left him a three-story, 100-square-meter house and some savings, ensuring they were well taken care of even after their passing.

Without their support, Lu Jun, who was only seven or eight years old when they passed, and his sister, Lu Mei who was five years older than him would have faced great difficulties. But now, he was determined to make the most of this new world and its magic.

Over the years, as Lu Mei grew into a junior magician, her fear of having nothing while joining the city's demon-hunting team diminished.

When Lu Jun descended the stairs, he found his sister lounging on the sofa. She possessed a mature and alluring appearance, a tall and curvaceous figure with a slender waist and well-defined buttocks. Her outfit couldn't conceal the enticing contours under her delicate collarbone, and her ample bosom was almost on the verge of being revealed. She had long, slender legs resting on the armrest, showcasing their pristine whiteness, with dainty, crystal-clear toes and beautifully manicured red nails.

Witnessing this, Lu Jun momentarily lost his composure, swallowing hard before hastily sitting down at the table to prepare a meal.

Lu Mei shot her brother a quizzical glance. Normally, he'd come over and massage her legs when he saw her in a bad mood. Why was he acting differently lately? She was the one who cooked daily and brought in money, so he should be treating himself for a change.

A thought crossed her mind as she recalled her brother's preoccupation over the past few days. She seemed to understand now. She leaned on the sofa, resting her chin on her hand, a strand of black hair falling beside her beautiful face. Blinking her captivating eyes at Lu Jun, she asked, "Are you worried about your magic awakening?"

Lu Mei reassured him, saying, "You've been accepted into Tianlan School, the top magic high school in Bo City, with outstanding results. Even if you can't awaken your magic, the worst-case scenario is that I take care of my little brother for the rest of our lives."

Lu Jun looked up from his rice bowl, his gaze once again drawn to Lu Mei's alluring figure. No girl can resist the words "I will support you," and no boy can resist the support of his older sister.

However, his worries weren't about awakening his magic. The White Tiger Pendant was connected to the supreme power in this world, capable of nurturing magical talent even in the absence of innate abilities. What truly concerned him was the impending disaster that would strike Bo City three years from now.

Lu Jun's current residence, Bo City, was the starting point of the protagonist's journey in the original timeline. He had learned that a young man named Mo Fan, who had entered Tianlan High School through unconventional means, would be in the same class as him. The gears of fate were beginning to turn.

Bo City, a small southern city on the outskirts of the Yangtze River Delta metropolitan area, had a population of nearly one million but only a handful of high-level magicians.

However, in three years, it would fall victim to a demon invasion. Lu Jun knew there was a secret behind this catastrophe, a conspiracy orchestrated by the Black Church, one of the overarching antagonists in this world.

The Black Vatican consisted of fanatics hell-bent on world destruction, irrational and devoid of logic.

This impending catastrophe marked Mo Fan's most vulnerable moment, and even Lu Jun couldn't see a way to avert it entirely.

Nevertheless, Lu Jun considered that three years were a long time. He would take one step at a time to prepare for the impending disaster.

With a reassuring smile, he responded to his sister, "Don't worry, my parents were both magicians. There's a good chance I'll awaken."

Lu Mei nodded with an understanding look and said, "You don't need to stress, little brother. I'm on the verge of becoming a mid-level magician. I can provide you with more support than those naturally gifted students entering university. Supporting you will be a breeze."

Lu Jun smirked inwardly, secretly thinking about who would be supporting whom when his White Tiger Pendant gained power. The future was uncertain.

Of course, he knew his sister was merely lightening the mood

with her joke. Tomorrow was the opening ceremony, the moment of awakening.
