1 Ch. 01

"These last two months, everyone has been working hard in honing their magical abilities. Mu Bai in particular" Xue Musheng stated "He's already started training his magic control" other students showered him with praises.

The door slid open, silencing them "Ah here is our new member of the class, she might be late but be kind and welcome her. Please introduce yourself" the girl had a fierce aura, she looks around before speaking.

"I'm Zhao Shengsi, a water element. It's my pleasure to be your classmate"

"Waah I thought she would've been a fire element"

"Right? Right? She's also really pretty"

"Look at those rack"

"Shh she might hear you"

"Hmp she'll probably be under Mu Bai's charm"

"You can sit in front of Zhang Xiaohou" the said name waved enthusiastically at the girl.

Class started, Xiaohou tried conversing with the new student but only earned a few nods 'This guy is shameless' Shengsi sighed and zoned out of the lesson.

'Huh? Is this girl sleeping?' Xiaohou subtly faced Mo Fan "Hey hey, look she's sleeping already" they looked at her and indeed her eyes were shut but it doesn't seem like she's in slumber 'Meditating during class, how daring' the dual elemental smirked.

Time went by like a breeze and class was already over. Shengsi was never even caught with her ritual "Hey, Zhao Shengsi?" the stoic girl stared at Mo Fan "Yes?" blushing at the close-up view of the beauty he timidly says "I know a nice place to meditate. Would you perhaps want to come with?"

"Loser, stop bothering the pretty lady. You'll probably scare her away" Zhao Kunsan laughed.

"I'm sorry about that, is he bothering you? You see Mo Fan really has a reputation of being a troublemaker. To disturb you on your first day" Mu Bai tried to act all gentleman and setting up Mo Fan 'This prick is making me look bad!'

"I-" Xiaohou was instantly cut off

"Mhh? Does it concern you? But you should be asking who is bothering me" Shengsi gave a pointed look at Kunsan "Ah he can be such a blabber mouth sometime" Shengsi nods as she picked up her bag "Mo Fan, right? Lead the way" bewildered by the girl's words the boys took a second to process the situation.

'The hottie probably got love struck the first time she saw me! Such good faith have really been bestowed upon me' Mo Fan smiled kindly trying to cover up his thoughts.

"Hey! Mu Bai is the number 1 in class and a part of the Mu family! You aren't even greatful enough that he's talking to you" Kunsan rudely pointed at the girl that ended up him getting him nudged roughly by the Ice mage "I see, he comes from a reputable family but that doesn't mean everyone should bow down to him and I would only be greatful to those who are worthy"

"Why you!-"

"And stop being such a pleaser it's an eyesore and truly it also hurts my ears" Dumbfounded, the two were left behind.

"Wow! Zhao-jiejie! You were so cool" Xiaohou was grinning "What's so good about that Mu Bai? I don't see it"

"His arrogance, narcissism, and family reputation" Shengsi listed out making the two laugh "You really are amazing sister Zhao. You could've atleast mentioned his element" She shrugs "It got outshined by the things I said"

They ended up at the rooftop where it was empty and quiet "Zhang Hou be quiet or leave, okay?" Mo Fan glared at the energetic fellow "Hmp! Who said I wanted to be bored like you guys anyway. I just wanted to know where you guys were heading" he declared and storms off.

Weeks have passed and Shengsi kept hanging out with Mo Fan and Xiaohou, earning hear a slightly bad reputation especially when she talks back to Mu Bai or his minion. Xiaohou seems to be always busy with a girl that would leave Shengsi and Mo Fan to meditate together. This led to Mo Fan telling Shengsi about him being dual element, she was unexpectedly nonchalant about it.

"These are the star elements. They'll appear in your spiritual world after the awakening. There are 7 star dusts in it, which are rotating in random manner. And when you concentrate while using your will to control them, you cam arrange them to form a star path like this" Xue Musheng gestured at the image projected "This will mean your magic is ready to be released. You must arrange them in one go, failing at it you'll have to redo the alignment" He proudly looks at his Ice element student "Mu Bai come here and demomstrate"

Mu Bai smirks and started his demonstration, a few seconds later he manage to align 5 stars "Teacher, actually...I'm already at the 5th star" Xue Musheng puts a hand on his shoulder "Students, Mu Bai can be considered the fastest among you all"

"Pfft fastest he say" Shengsi mumbled "Like you can do any better! You haven't even controlled a single star" Kunsan gave a haughty laugh "He's right, Ms. Zhao. You should see Mu Bai as an example" She only rolls her eyes at them "It took him a while to align them. In an actual experience, you should be quick" Kunsan fumes at the unfazed girl "Like you have room to talk"

"Then why not demonstrate to us the, Ms. Zhao"

She put her right hand out and just a second had passed she completed her star path "As a water element, being the defense means one need to be on time, just a second late can lead to injury or death" she extinguished her star path leaving the students at awe.

Xue Musheng coughs "I see you've diligently done your practice and study. You can release magic now" Shengsi only nods and started conversing with Xiaohou. Ignoring the fact that she caught everyone's attention.

Mo Fan and Shengsi finished their meditation and are on their way to the park near the school.

When they got there a timid girl was sitting on a swing "Xinxia!" The two walked up to her "Mo Fan-gege...er" she hesitated at the sight of the girl with him "This is Ye Xinxia, my meimei. Xinxia, this is my classmate Zhao Shengsi" the two girls exchanged pleasantries. Mo Fan looks around and caught sight of the hooligans "Those bastards again" he took a step forward but Xinxia stopped him "Forget it...they have us outnumbered today" Shengsi saw a couple of guys and a wheelchair not too far, she immediately understood.

Shengsi accompanied Mo Fan and went to the gang "You bunch of cowards!" They towered over the two "Trying to be a hero? She should be thankful I'm into her even if she's crippled" the gang kept blabbering unpleasant words "Taking us all on? What do you think we're made of? Might as well take that other beauty from you" Mo Fan punched the guys square in the face "Stay the hell away from them" he muttered.

They charged at him and Shengsi, the girl was surprisingly defending herself well but Mo Fan had a bit of difficulty "Mo Fan-gege! Zhao-jiejie! Just let it go!" the guy grabbed Xinxia's face "Guess you're smarter then those two"

"Get your hands off her!" Mo Fan yelled.

"You shouldn't be looking away" one of the gang member was swung his bat.

"Water Defense: Guard" Shengsi's water wall was just in time to block the hit, this gave Mo Fan time to complete his star path "Lightning Magic: Strike!" the gang's boss was struck by Mo Fan's lightning leaving him unconscious "Th-They're mage!" They carried their boss and ran away.

They brought back the wheelchair and helped Xinxia get on it "Mo Fan-gege, you were able to release lightning magic! How amazing!"

"Hehehe Of course!"

"Zhao-jiejie, you were quick to react it was unbelievable"

"Shengsi is fine. Want me to protect you from all the bad guys?"

"Shengsi! That's my line!"

"Sheng-jie, thank you for helping us and especially protecting my gege"

"It's no problem at all, he had a good intention"

"Hear that Xinxia, I'm really a good boy and I don't boss around people like Mu Bai" he then slightly bows "Thank you for your help"

The three continued to idly chat with each other until it was time to go their seperate ways.
