5 Missing Gift?

Kopi wondered for a while and finally concluded to find out what the Gift of his Father was.

Of course, he wouldn't extract it… he was not treating his Father like a lab rat.

Kopi extended his arm, reaching to touch his Father.

He cleared his mind with a long exhale, tossing those unnecessary thoughts at the back of his head.

But one thing was necessary he kept… he was anticipating his Gift would ring in his mind once again just like before.

Who knows how he could be so optimistic to the point of disregarding negative thoughts such as… It was delusional.

Nonetheless, those negative thoughts were proven wrong.

[Detected the host's intention. Searching for the Gift the person's the host in contact with…

It has been detected that the Gift is nowhere to be found.

Investigating the reason… It has been observed that the core is broken… The cause could not be determined.

Conclusion… It has been concluded that the person the host is in contact with possessed a Gift, but somehow, due to the core being broken, he had lost it.

There is also a possibility that it has been extracted too…]

Kopi was too stunned to think. Under the illusion of deep contemplation, his body sweated uncontrollably while quivering.

He… he didn't know when he was so infuriated. He was earlier, but this time… this was different.

Previously, he desired to scold his Father and to hate him for his actions, but now… he desired to kill.

To kill those people who dared to steal the Gift from his Father.

'Who are they?' He mulled to himself as he finally regained his senses.

Wiping the sweat from his forehead, he gazed at his Father with pity and unwavering desire.

'Should I ask Father? He must have known a single thing or two. There is no way he doesn't know about it.

I mean. Who would not be aware of losing something so precious?'

Kopi pondered the possibility of who could have extracted it.

'The Mayor? It should not be. If he did, it would have escalated. Such a vile act could not be concealed.

Argh! Just who are they?'

He gazed at his Father and ruminated, 'And why was he hiding it? Since when?'

Kopi recalled his past. He recalled when he shared his desire to become an Awakener with his Father and asked him about his Gift.

All he received was… it was ambiguous. Regardless, all he could remember was his Father's smile and his reply:

"It is a strength-related Gift, my son. There was even a day where I lifted tons of boulders and threw them at the beasts!"

Liar!

That was what he believed.

However, there could be a possibility.

After all, his Father always performed tasks that were above average normal humans could execute.

For instance, carrying 300 kg of brick for more than ten meters in ten rounds for a single day.

Although his Father always returned home with weary expressions, there was not a single day his Father took a day off.

Staring at his Father, he ruminated, 'Just what happened to Father? There is no way a person without a gift could perform a task as he always did!'

Kopi perceived a massive headache enveloping his head.

He rubbed his temples and contemplated for a while.

He sighed.

'What do I have to think? I should ask my Father!'

He exclaimed on his mind as he began to walk to the wall, where the bed was glued and his brother near at it, and leaned his body over to clear his head.

For some reason, an adult smoking with a cigarette emerged in his mind.

'I wonder what the taste of the cigarette is? Ah, forget about that. I wonder if it can help me clear my head.'

Kopi was obviously elated about today's event.

However, when he contemplated clearly, there was just so much adversity that happened on the same day.

He lost his friends, he got bullied by a despicable tyrant, he became the center of ridicule, he discovered his bony little brother almost on the brink of death while screaming for help to help his Father's misfortune, the call he received, and lastly, there was the discovery of his Father losing his gift.

Much worse, his Gift surmised it was extracted.

Kopi scratched the back of his head in exasperation.

'Forget about that. It's not my nature to spend my time on problems. I should focus on what I received today that could topple all the problems at once.'

Whenever the occurrence of his Gift manifested, he perceived all his problems suddenly vanished.

He believed it was a blessing to receive his Gift. Even when it was peculiar and the most enigmatic Gift he knew, the fact he finally had it enlivened his spirits after the problems he received.

'I remember, I can talk to my Gift. According to some philosophers, a Gift is a spirit that has been nurtured by the soul. They integrated the philosophy of Ancient Greek Philosophers and surmised that the Gift came from the Idea realm. Since the soul that should belong to that realm and the physical body are attached to one another, there is a possibility of touching the Ideal Realm, or somebody called the Immortal Realm.

And the Gift is a bridge for that…'

Kopi has always been mesmerized by the notion of the recent rising philosophers. Of course, they were Awakeners, and through the help of their Gift, they theorized their Gifts origin and their purpose.

It was also them who offered Kopi some superstitions of how to awaken the Gift.

Kopi even deduced Elder White Beard was a philosopher after his recent conversation with him.

'If that is the case, I should try communicating with my Gift.'

Kopi nodded and closed his eyes.

He pondered, 'Should I talk with my mouth or mind?

Let's start with the mind, then.'

'Gift, Gift, can you hear me?'

[It has been detected that the host is trying to communicate with the Extraction. Replying… Yes, the extraction can hear you.]

Kopi furrowed his eyebrows.

'Can I request the Extraction to please stop conversing in a passive manner? I preferred to converse with the Extraction like a normal person.'

Kopi tried to be as polite as possible.

[The Extraction is trying to implement the host's request… It has been detected that the Gift lacks data on how humans conversed with each other. May the Extractor extract the knowledge from the host?

Yes/No?]
