Night Attack

"So? How may I help you, Vergil?" Jean asked Vergil in front of her.

"I'm here to give the heads of the Red Skull bastards." Vergil replied and threw a bunch of sacks in front of Jean's table.

"You do know that it's hard to clean up blood, right?" Jean said with an annoyed tone.

"They're already dried, no need to sweat on stuff like that." Vergil said making Jean rub her nosebridge.

"You can give this to the guild counter downstairs. They'll give you the rewards for their heads." Jean threw the letter to Vergil who caught it easily.

"On second thought, is there anyone here who can make a clothing with defensive enchantments? I want one of that instead of the reward money." Having the bet of not being hit once by an enemy, Vergil knew it was time to get serious.

"There is someone who can make that for you, do you want the same design as your clothing?" Jean asked but Vergil shook his head. He needs to get serious and a yukata will not make him fight efficiently, he needed a battle outfit where he can move in anyway he wants and he knew just what outfit it was.

"I want this design. I want a top quality enchantment in it." Vergil said as he handed a bunch of papers to Jean. It was his Classic blue coat outfit. He will use that outfit until Hajime gained the creation magic and ask him to make the optimal battle outfit for him.

"This... I'm afraid your reward money isn't enough." Jean said after looking at the intricate design in front of her. It was so detailed that even the color of the buttons were mentioned.

"Then I'll bring you two operatives' head tonight." Vergil said with a smirk. The two red skull operatives thought that he didn't sense them. In fact, Vergil used the time he looked at them to study what magic they were using to conceal themselves. He got an idea but he still wants to have another look closer.

"Aren't you too confident of your abilities?" Jean said with a narrowed eyes. Even she could not declare that she would be able to catch a Red Skull operative alone due to their weird skills.

"Confident or not, you'll see it soon." Vergil said as he left Jean.

"Interesting." Jean said as he threw the heads of the Red Skull bastards in the trash.

Night fell and the two robed person started their plan.

*Boom*

A sound of explosion woke the residents of Horaud up. Many people got up from their bed and started helping in putting out fire. Jean, lead a few mages to stop the fire from spreading.

*Boom*

Another explosion rattled the citizens of Horaud as they did their best to stop the fire.

Vergil, watching the explosions from the windows of his room, started to move. He took his Yamato and walked out of his room.

Few more explosions startled the citizens of Horaud. Jean knitted her brows as she cursed the Red Skulls for doing something despicable like this.

"Looks like they are all distracted, Haga." The robed man said to Haga, his partner.

"Don't be too noisy, Jugo. I need to concentrate or they'll find us." Haga said as Jugo shut his mouth and didn't bother his partner anymore. They made their way to the infirmary where three heroes were ripe for the picking.

When they were about to open the door, a phantom sword flew towards them. Haga immediately moved away with Jugo as they stepped back.

"You guys might be concealed, but in front of my eye, nothing is hidden." The robed men looked towards the direction of the voice and they saw the brat who noticed them earlier. What's peculiar about him is his left eye with a tattoo of a snake eating its own tail with a bunch of triangles inside it.

Staring at the two robed men in front of him, Vergil noted all of their flaws with his eye. He then used thought acceleration to form the perfect battle plan and figure out the other person's magic. The one who could use concealment doesn't really conceal themselves, rather he was bending the light so that the light won't reflect them and make it seem like they are invisible.

"Brat, I admit, you've got some nice instincts there, but its not enough to defeat us." Jugo said as he rushed towards Vergil, Haga then bent the light to make Jugo concealed.

Seeing an opening, Vergil gripped the hilt of Yamato with his right hand and used his speed to come closer to Haga. To others, it seemed like a blur and Haga was caught off guard.

Even though he was caught off guard, a malicious glint passed by his eyes as he compressed a ball of mana in front of Vergil and made it explode, blinding Vergil. With a vicious smirk, Haga thought of finishing Vergil but Vergil casually swiped yamato.

Haga's head rolled down to the floor and removed Jugo's concealment. He had foreseen the future and the future he chose is Haga's head in exchange for temporarily losing his eyesight. Not only would he reduce his troublesome enemy by one, he hoped that it would take the attention of his partner and aim for him and not his classmates.

Seeing Haga's head rolling down, Jugo frowned but it didn't stop him from completing his mission, to kill or capture the heroes. Taking advantage of a blind Vergil, he waved his hand and little portals appeared, it dropped boxes of explosives.

Even if blind, Vergil could still feel and hear. He used his other senses to locate Jugo, he felt the changes of mana in the air. He felt small pockets of compressed mana, it then dropped a small crystal full of volatile mana.

Noting that it was the explosives they were using, Vergil let go of his grip on Yamato and held the force edge hanging on his back.

Phantom swords started floating to Vergil's side as he sent them towards the crystals. The phantom sword sliced the crystals in half and stopped them from exploding, with the volatile energy gaining contact with the mana, it neutralized itself. Vergil was curious about its materials but decided to set it aside for later.

Seeing that his last ditch plan on exploding the infirmary is gone, Jugo knew it was time to withdraw, he used his hands as he ripped the space open. Before he left, he looked at the young man in front of him who destroyed their plans and stopped them from killing the heroes. In the eyes of Red Skull operatives, it doesn't matter whether they captured or kill them, if they captured them then they can sell them or taste them or even make them their slave, but if they can't then killing is the last option.

Vergil regained his vision and saw that Jugo was about to escape.

'Teleportation magic, huh.' Vergil thought as he gripped Yamato. The space closed and Jugo felt relieved. His escape was cut short when a katana pierced his chest out of nowhere. Confusion was written on his face. He didn't know how the young man stabbed him.

"Don't be too surprised, Yamato can slice through the fabrics of space. Meaning I could cut you even if you entered another dimension or place to protect yourself." Vergil's voice rattled Jugo from inside the space.

"You... monster..." It was Jugo's last words as Vergil pulled Yamato out and sliced the space. Jugo's dead body fell down and Vergil resheathed Yamato before putting Force Edge back to his inventory.
