310 CHAPTER 310: So He Opened His Mouth

"You do know we support you no matter what right?"

Vermilion Bird and Lily came out of her when she reached the center of the forest.

Lily looked at her worriedly and spoke.

"..."

Saphira didn't say anything as she raised her head and closed her eyes.

She was facing the sky but her brows were furrowed.

"You are not the only who is being conflicted at this moment."

She opened her eyes and looked at Vermilion Bird.

"Qirin already knew, he became aware of it after he had accepted the things he couldn't in the past. Causing him so much confusion when the answer was already right in front of him."

Saphira looked at Vermilion Bird in shock.

"I already told you, he already has his thoughts. The reason his brat was still unable to even think about it is because they were already closed off to other reasons why things happened. Even if they say that they are open to listen, once your mind is already set in believing one thing. It will take you more than just speaking to make them believe that they were wrong all along."

After a short pause, he continued, "And I can assume that the rest are now close to coming up with the answer."

"Am I being selfish right now?" she asked afterwards.

"Yes," was Vermilion Bird's blatant reply.

"Because just as what some people would say, they deserve the truth and they deserve to know it as soon as possible…"

Saphira lowered her head.

"But each and everyone has the right to be selfish from time to time. It is just that the selfishness wasn't of the same capacity. What you are being selfish right now is just bigger than the rest."

Saphira knew, Vermilion Bird is trying to comfort her in his own way.

"Well, it will not be hidden for long anyway. It will still be revealed, you just have to be prepared to save them then."

She nodded her head, this is what she had been preparing all along.

"Then…"

*****

Vermilion Bird opened his eyes.

He was perched up in a tree, he didn't return inside of Saphira, as if he had been waiting.

Qirin appeared before him followed by the rest.

All the other's faces were grim, Qirin being the only exception.

"I have a feeling that it is indeed on this day," he spoke.

The talk they had with Saphira was two days ago.

During this past two days, they were fighting and killing all those dark forces that remained inside the barrier.

He looked at each of their faces.

"Can't we… really tell them?" Black Tortoise asked.

"With the way you look, it was already obvious that you don't want to believe any of this. Do you think they will be as mild as you?" Vermilion Bird asked with sarcasm.

Black Tortoise was left with no answer.

It was already obvious with their faces that everything was still surreal, if they are to think about their hosts then surely they would be even more affected.

"And with that, we are giving you a task…"

All of them looked at him.

"Saphira needed you to be stronger in your hearts when the time comes. Because surely we are to retreat once that time comes."

They knew why he said it in such a negative way.

Once shaken, everyone will be in a vulnerable state.

With that, it will be easier to kill them.

"Is that why when she just took up her position, she made sure for them to keep in mind that when she calls, they are to retreat? That retreat is not defeat? Not only because she knew that the real enemies are the people they look up to but mainly because of this?"

Qirin was the one who asked this time.

Vermilion Bird simply looked at him but his look was already the answer.

All of them sighed, it was seriously grave and heavy.

"Is she fine?" White Tiger asked referring to Saphira.

Vermilion Bird shook his head, "Obviously not, she is conflicted even though all along was she really at fault?"

Each of them shook their heads, the answer to his question was already obvious.

She was the one who was hurt the most, the one who suffered the most, so why is this her fault?

Being hurt again because no one would believe her, wouldn't that just another suffering?

So why should she speak?

Remembering her as a child, they felt pity even more.

She carried such a heavy burden.

Seeing their grave look, Vermilion Bird couldn't help but to scoff.

"What you are aware of was only half of her suffering, if you knew exactly what happened, would you still look this way? You may even be unable to know what to feel."

"Then tell us, now that we already have the answer, tell us. What is it that happened back then?"

Vermilion Bird was prepared to tell them everything if they were to appear today and tell him that they have the answer they'd been searching for.

As the one who was in the forefront of everything from the start to end, Vermilion Bird was the one who knew the story as a whole, from every perspective.

And so he opened his mouth…

The story of everything that had been hidden for a decade and everything that Saphira had experienced.

"She stood strong even after everything?" Roc couldn't believe his ears after hearing the story as a whole.

"Strong? Not just strong, very strong. She wasn't only coping up on her own but was helping me as well. Over the years, who in our hosts had such a heart before?"

They didn't answer because when they thought back, then it is indeed the truth.

If Saphira while suffering herself was actually helping Vermilion Bird in coping up with his own injuries, not just physically but of his heart as well.

"And she even had to suffer from the people around her," Qirin added.

"How many times do you think I wished I could burn those brats of yours?"

No one could look at him.
