290 CHAPTER 290: Hi There Little Lambs

Nixon broke into cold sweat when they got close to the center of the empire.

He can see that most of the people in this empire were women.

And his body has involuntarily shivered at the thought of having more chances in bumping into them.

He enveloped his whole body with a thin layer of water to have a bit of protection. But it didn't help much for his mind was currently about to go blank.

"Stormie, Felix, Ridge and Nixon, go and check the outskirts. See if you have to help in anything. Willow and Drake, check the town and get information of what is the current condition of the whole empire from the mouths of the people. Hunter and I will meet the emperor."

Saphira's command came just in time.

He couldn't wait any longer for him to leave.

"Be sure to call us the moment something else were to happen," she added.

Her words were directed at Felix, who has the communication orb of his kingdom.

"I understand."

"There is one thing I have to remind you all. For the past months- No, to be more precise, from the get go, the Dark Lord is attacking us emotionally."

No one showed shock, this meant that they themselves came to understand that this is indeed the case.

"Funnily, in every land we got to, he will send people to attack us. If not, he will take away people who become close to us. It was as if he was laughing at us saying that we are nothing. That he can attack us even without him appearing in front of us. Still, all I want from you is to stay strong. That no matter, always guard your hearts. Because the moment you lost control of it, you will surely lose more than losing your powers."

All of them answered at the same time.

Then they went on their own way.

"Do you feel that something else will happen in this land?" Hunter asked her as they made their way to the palace.

"The Dark Lord is obviously following us, with Chester and Samuel being unable to get their revenge, it is obvious that Samuel will be following us from now on. Then surely they have something else up their sleeves. And that something could happen anytime now," she answered.

Hunter had thought about that as well but he just asked to confirm whether it was indeed the same as her own thoughts.

"Right now, we are in a battle of emotions. And it amazed me that the Dark Lord actually thought of this kind of attack," she added.

She had been thinking about this all along, the Dark Lord had existed since thousands of years ago.

There are predecessor of light ability users that faced him other than her and her predecessor.

Did he come up with this because of all his experiences?

She did remember the glimpse of the moments of the past where her predecessor was breaking down. But unlike her who became better after doing so, she can feel that her predecessor became even more recluse.

Did the Dark Lord used this tactic on her?

Saphira was thinking about so many things but nothing could be answer with the little amount of information being given to them.

She knew the past of her predecessor holds something that awaits them or her in the future, that is why she always focus whenever a glimpse would happen. But to no avail, she couldn't get any information at all.

As made their way to the palace, the others were close to the distant shores of the land.

Other than the demonic beasts and a few other dark forces, they haven't met anything else.

"It feels like it is the calm before the storm," Stormie commented as they rested.

Even though everything went easily and they were able to defeat those whom they encountered.

"Stop those words," Ridge instantly said after hearing her words.

Sometimes those words actually calls for trouble.

"The trouble is here," Nixon gravely said.

When they turned to him, they saw his dark face while he was looking at another direction.

There on that side, Samuel and Flora were walking towards them.

"I told you not to say those words," Ridge whispered to Stormie.

"You know, I didn't mean any of that right?" Stormie replied.

Though they still had the energy to joke a bit, their faces speak of seriousness.

They had battled with Samuel already but this is the first time they are meeting Flora and they have no idea if things had changed for her.

They remembered that her ability was flowers.

But they weren't simply flowers, these flowers could be used as a barrier.

A barrier where it could hide the presence of a life force behind it.

A good protection when they are in grave danger where no one could fight as of the moment.

Flora smiled seductively at them and they couldn't help but to shudder at the way she acts.

They remember her being the bookish looking one among the elite team, yet here she was smiling like a seductress. It was both shocking and hair raising, especially for Nixon.

This is the type of woman that he hated the most, the type who throws themselves at him as if they have no respect for themselves at all.

"Hi there little lambs," Flora started.

Without delay she raised her hand and different types of flowers appeared behind the four of them.

Samuel rushed forward and, just as the fend off the flowers, he used his wind to attack in front.

Roc and the rest came out to defend them.

"No, that's not quite right. You should play with something else, don't you think?" Flora spoke and just as she did, demonic beasts appeared all around them, together with dark forces.

"No wonder there were only a few demonic beasts and dark forces that faced while scouting the place," Felix commented looking at all the enemies.
