Chapter 17: Weird feelings.

Kiara returned to their base and prepared everything according to the plan.

The next day, they were supposed to rescue the people who were kept under those people for spreading terrorism.

They were here for already here for four days and had been planning their final plan. They saved some of the people for nearby places but their main plan was yet to be plotted.

It was already 10 PM at night but Adrian didn't return that made everyone worry but they knew he was capable. When Kiara heard it, she was a bit worried as well so she decided to go out and look for him.

"Queen, don't go out", someone called out. Kiara turned and said coldly, "I'm not weak."

No one dared to stop her after that. She walked out with a torch in her hand as it was too dark outside and there were no lights either because the place was practically near the forests.

She looked around and tried to call out for Adrian but got no response. Suddenly, she heard some noise so she immediately turned to find Adrian standing behind her.

They were only a few inches away from each other and their nose almost touching. Kiara felt her heart beating fast inside her chest that made her a little angry.

"Where were you?", she asked coldly breaking the uncomfortable silence that was eating her inside looking away from him. "Why are you here?", he asked matching her tone. "Why should I answer you?", she asked arrogantly.

"Then why should I answer you?", he returned the question. She turned and glared at him.

"Can you answer without questioning back?", she asked angrily. "Can you do the same?", he asked. "Ugh", she gritted her teeth in annoyance. "Forget it", she waved her hand at him.

"Okay", he shrugged and turned. She held his hand and asked, "Where are you going?"

"Why do I need to answer you?", he asked coldly. She immediately let go of his hand.

"Why do you always act so arrogantly?", she asked angrily. "Don't you do the same?", he asked sternly. "You! Fine, I do. So what? What can you do about it?", she asked glaring at him with her cold emotionless eyes.

"I don't wanna talk to you", he said in a bored tone. "You have to; because we have a mission tomorrow", she said emotionlessly. "Why do I disgust you?", he asked suddenly. She fell silent hearing his question.

She didn't actually felt disgusted by him. In fact he made her feel safe around him. The thing is that she never felt these things so it's new for her and she is not able to accept this fact because she had gone through a lot.

"I...", before she could say anything he pulled her aside and a dagger passed from their sides. "We need to fight", he said in a serious tone and she nodded knowing such situation very well.

Some men came out with their face covered. Kiara and Adrian stood in their attacking positions. The men started attacking them but it wasn't easy to beat the King and Queen.

Kiara took out her gun from behind her back and started shooting each man. She kicked a man who was coming towards her and shot him but soon her bullets were over so she had to fight physically.

Adrian punched a man really hard then took his dagger and stabbed his throat against the tree trunk then took that dagger to kill other men. He saw a man coming towards Kiara, quickly he threw the dagger towards the man.

After fighting off all the men, Kiara stood beside Adrian. "They were no fun", she complained. Adrian glanced at her admiring her beautiful face under the moonlight.

She looked like a delicate flower under the moonlight but she was tough.

"Don't ever come out in the middle of the night. It's dangerous", he said in a dominating tone. She turned to look at him.

Under the moonlight, he looked really handsome with his perfectly sculptured features shining and outlined perfectly. It made him look more manly and powerful.

"You can't order me. I'm the Queen", she humped. He didn't say anything and just gave a small nod indifferently that made her feel a bit disappointed but she didn't say anything.

She couldn't tell why she felt disappointed by his indifferent behavior but it made her heart ache. Earlier she thought he would cling onto her but he didn't do that.

What the hell? Why are you so bothered, idiot? He is just like others. You're good alone. Don't let others break you again and again. You are cursed to be alone. She said to herself and composed her cold demeanor.

"Let's go. We have to leave by 4 in the morning", she said coldly and started walking.

Next morning, by 3, Kiara woke up and got ready for the mission. She put on green camo shorts, dark green top, black military boots and black gloves. Her hairs were tied up in neat ponytail.

She kept two guns at the back along with three daggers, knives of all sizes inside her boots and the belt around her waist. She kept small explosives.

On the other side, Adrian was wearing black jeans, dark grey V neck tshirt that hugged his toned muscles and chiseled muscular shoulders and chest, black military boots and gloves. He kept his weapons.

His short hairs were perfectly trimmed in square tapper fade neckline and were messily styled up giving him a hotter look. His black diamond stud like mole shined on his left earlobe giving him a manly look.

Everyone came out and got ready to leave for the mission.

"We will go to find those people", Kiara said to everyone. Just when she was about to walk away, Adrian held her back by pulling her wrist. She looked at him. He had a complex expression.

"Take care. Inform me if you're in danger", Adrian said gently. "I can take care of myself", she said coldly. "I know but still let me know once you get inside and once you leave", he said sternly.

She rolled her eyes but nodded in the end. She turned to leave but he didn't let go of her hand. She raised a brow at him. "Why are you behaving as if I'm going to die?", she asked with narrowed eyes.

"Shut up. Don't you dare say that again", he scolded and glared at her. "Let me go now", she pulled her hand back and walked away without looking back at him. He sighed deeply.

What is this feeling? Why am I feeling as if something bad is gonna happen? Perhaps, it's just my imagination. He thought and brushed it away then left for the mission.

It feels so weird around him. No one ever scolded me for saying that I was to die. Everyone wanted me dead except this man. Why does he feels so different? Kiara's thoughts were messed up.

She had no idea what was happening with her while on the other side Adrian was getting more and more closer to her unknowingly. He felt a natural pull towards her.

Kiara and her Team C went towards the west while Adrian and Team A went towards South. Adrian had the mission to find the base in the middle of the forest and gets its proper location and mapping.

Kiara and her team marched towards an old factory where the people were kept. Those terrorists were enemies of underworld who kidnapped innocents and were forcefully training them for attacks and using them to blackmail.

Kiara was completely determined to make those bastards pay for this. She had the urge to immediately rush over and start torturing them until they begged her to let go. She wanted to kill them with her bare hands.
