4 Riff Raff

Doctor Li paused in her actions, she did not respond to Xua Ying Yue at once instead she kept shuffling the papers in front of her. It was only after she was done piling them up neatly, did she turn to look at Xua Ying Yue and asked softly, " Punished for what exactly?"

" For hurting me, this is intentional torture!" Xua Ying Yue was surprised that she even had to say something like this, it was clear that they have done something wrong. No, it could be said that they have done something that can be counted as a criminal record and she was being asked, for what they should be punished.

" Ying Yue, I know that you are upset but I will be honest with you here, the headmistress is the one who is protecting them all," Doctor Li looked straight at Xua Ying Yue and ruefully smiled at her. " You are not the first one who came here to ask for help from me, there were many before you who were injured and bullied just like you are right now."

Doctor Li paused before she turned to look away from Xua Ying Yue for a second before bringing her gaze back. " You have heard about that girl who jumped off the building, right?"

Xua Ying Yue nodded slowly as she did not understand why Doctor Li was asking her this, the rumours were flying all over the entire school of course she would have heard about it.

" Everyone knows about that girl, the headmistress, the board of directors of the school maybe even the police but they did not do anything to young master Lu, do you know why?" Doctor Li asked and Xua Ying Yue shook her head not understanding what she meant by this.

" Because he has the power and the money to shut everyone's mouth, and so do the ones who did this to you, I understand that you want to fight against them but it will all come down to nothing. We are not in a drama where the evil will be defeated by the righteous, this is the reality and in reality, those who do not have the power to fight back need to keep their heads lowered."

Maybe Xua Ying Yue's gaze was too much for Doctor Li to handle as she uncomfortably looked away and continued speaking, " I sympathize with you, Ying Yue and I will help you where I can but as your teacher, I will give you a suggestion. You shouldn't think about taking them down or anything of the sort, complaining against them will only get you suspended."

She picked up a strawberry flavour candy from the small jar that sat on the white table and stood up from the chair on which she was sitting before walking over to where Xua Ying Yue was and said, " I heard that you want to be an author of children stories right? Then just keep your mind on your studies and finish your academic years in this school. If it's too much you can always drop out after this year, but don't walk on a path that you will regret, Ying Yue. Just keep your head low and ignore everything else."

" Now go back and attend your classes, I don't think anyone else in this school will sympathize with you..since you don't have what the others do."

" Ah, Miss Xua, so nice of you to grace us with your presence," as soon as Xua Ying Yue pushed the door of the class to enter, Teacher Ke who was solving a sum on work and efficiency turned to look at her with a frown on his face. " Were you finally able to find your way to the classroom? Or are you still having trouble, maybe if you cannot find the classroom, maybe I will attend someone as your assistant?"

His words caused the entire classroom to break down in giggles and laughs, Xua Ying Yue noticed that Tan Jing was the one who was laughing the most and Su Meirong who always did what Tan Jing and Lu Biya did was doing the same, even though Lu Biya was not laughing, Xua Ying Yue could see a proud smirk playing on her lips.

She really wished she could tell the teacher why she was late but then Doctor Li's words came crashing back to her and she swallowed her words back, Xua Ying Yue was just as enraged as she was helpless. However, no matter how angry she was no fool either, she knew that she could not fight against those three and from what she has seen during her time at this school, she knew that Teacher Ke supported Lu Biya a lot.

" I was in the infirmary, Sir," she replied as she took out the note that Doctor Li has given her, the woman seemed to know that Teacher Ke would make things difficult for her which was why she especially wrote a note to ask Teacher Ke to not give Xua Ying Yue a hard time.

Teacher Ke clicked his tongue before he waved the note that Xua Ying Yue was holding away and said with disgust clouding in his eyes, " Go back to your seat," after he was done speaking, he turned around to face the board again but as he turned around Xua Ying Yue heard him say, " This is why I was against letting them allow riff raffs like her to enter the school. They don't belong here!"

Xua Ying Yue's dropped the hand that was outstretched on her side, her heart feeling heavier than it was as she walked back to her seat. Throughout the entire time, she did not say anything but if someone would have taken a closer look at her hand they would have seen that she crumpled the paper that she was holding into a ball and tore it with her nails.
