Belongings thrown out

Xua Ying Yue returned to the apartment building with her sister, as soon as she stepped out of the taxi, she was surprised to find that all of their luggage and things that she and her sister owned were thrown outside the pavement of the apartment building where the two lived. Her eyes fell on the broken tea table that was lying on the ground along with the laptop that was broken and completely unfit to use now that it had been thrown like it was trash that was supposed to be picked up by the trash truck.

She got down from the taxi and walked over to the spot where their things were lying before she heaved a sigh and then started picking up the things on the floor. While her sister who followed her from behind looked at their stuff lying on the ground with her mouth half open and eyes widened in disbelief as she exclaimed in a scandalised manner, " What the? How can they do this to us? We have been living here for years and I even paid an advance payment for the apartment where we leave ."

The landlady of this place might have been a bit greedy but she had always been cordial with her and her sister. Never going too over the top and with Xua Yenay always paying her rent on time, the landlady had never done anything like this to them before, in fact, she had treated them kindly and even shared some good things with them when she used to get them.

Xua Yenay had not expected things to become like this, she thought that once she arrives at the apartment building she will have a decent talk with the landlady and then she will get the payment that she had given in advance to the before cancelling the leash of the apartment. But she did not even get a chance to do that instead the second she arrived at this place she saw that her things were thrown out of the building as they belonged to a beggar who was occupying the place without giving even a single yuan as rent.

Though Xua Yenay was surprised, Xua Ying Yue was not. She knew that Lu Biya's father will not wait for them nor will he allow them to take their sweet time to do things instead he will make sure that they will have no chance to drag their feet in the name of rent or apartment hunting in the other cities. He wanted them out of the picture as soon as possible, in his eyes even though she and her sister had signed the contract they were liabilities that he could not allow to stay any longer in the city.

' How foolish,' Xua Ying Yue thought as she picked up the things that she could salvage and use which included her clothes and some daily necessities.

" You two are here," the landlady who was in her own apartment walked out, she was a middle-aged lady who had short curly hair and was slightly porky and wore clothes that were too big for her body that she bought from the cheap second-hand store.

With her chubby face, she looked kind and amicable but at this moment, even with her kind face, she could not hide what a terrible person she was underneath her kind face.

The landlady did not smile at Xua Ying Yue or Xua Yenay instead she looked at them like they were trash that needed to be taken care of and then said, "It's good that you are here, get your things and leave, okay? I have heard that you offended some big shot, I cannot keep the likes of you in my building."

As she spoke she shooed them like street dogs standing in her way which made Xua Yenay's face turned red in embarrassment, however, she still looked at the landlady and then said, " But I paid for six months in advance, how can you throw our things like this? And that too in a manner that broke most of them?"

The landlady rolled her and looked at Xua Yenay with an expression of looking at someone too stupid. She dipped her head a little and then in a slightly contemptuous voice, she said, " Maybe you should have thought about this before offending someone you should not have offended."

With that she turned around to leave, seeing her go, Xua Yenay wanted to chase after her but at that moment Xua Ying Yue spoke up," There is no need to get into a squabble with her, sister. She is nothing but a pawn who thinks that she has become someone important."

Xua Ying Yue looked at the old land lady's back with a derisive expression and then added, " You have the leash contract and the receipt right? Let's go and file a complaint, we cannot offend a big shot but I am certain we can offend a small landlady who owns a run-down building that is running at sheer desperate hopes and prayers."
