114 You And I Made of Fire

[KAWAI]

"... So I understand why he is weary of me… but Sire, I do not wish him harm. I love him. He is my mate," Gabe said, earnestly in his voice, shocking everyone who knew of him and the Lycan king.

He was admitting to bullying a Lycan and that too in the presence of the insane Lycan king. It wasn't exactly the best way to create a rapport with the Lycans, and that too on the first day that he was out of his palace.

"Yup, he finally lost his mind," Tamiko voiced as he looked at the werewolf who was trying to fuck around with him right in front of his father, a man who would do whatever it took to protect Tamiko even from himself.

Gabe was putting the lives of the Grealor wolves in danger with this little show he was putting on. If he was rational enough, he could have seen through the glaring red flags that were staring at him, in the middle of Kawai, but he wasn't.

He was acting like a mate in love with someone who would never choose him and he was here fucking up because a part of him hoped that if he pushed just a little longer Tamiko would choose him, that Tamiko would look at him like he did Tamiko.

"You… You love him?" King Zaffuto asked with a laugh as he stared at Gabriel. He had been expecting a lame attempt at freedom but goodness this wasn't what he had expected tonight.

"I do, Your Majesty. I am madly in love with him. He is, after all, a werewolf. I met him at the Grealor mating ball and he didn't reject me. I took that to mean that he was just not ready to embrace the royalty that came with the werewolf alpha's throne.

"Please your majesty, my intentions for the wolf are pure. I love him, I swear it in my life. He means the world to me, your majesty. Please, do not think differently of me," Gabe said and Tamiko stared at Gabe like the man had truly lost his mind.

King Zaffuto looked at his son, the boy he was slowly learning things about. He could tell that this was a heavy topic for Tamiko and the longer Gabe talked the more the king felt the dark energy from his son.

Tamiko was pissed and the king couldn't blame him for that. This was his aggression sitting here in front of everyone who probably already knew he was the outcast of Grealor, and getting claimed.

The man was provoking his son and the Lycan king was never going to let that happen to the only son he had.

He had promised to love his sound to protect him, but how was he supposed to protect his son from a measly wolf that thought the world was supposed to work around him all the time?

How the fuck was eh supposed to do that without burning Grealor to the ground? Now that he looked at Kosta, the king finally understood why the Lycan chief had not laid a claim on his son yet.

The chief was waiting for something, and as tempting as it was for the King to know what was going on between his son and the chief, or even why the chief hadn't marked Tamiko, Zaffuto knew he had to make a choice at the moment.

"So technically you admit to bullying a werewolf from your pack, and making his life horrible, then you come to the mating ball to seek permission to have him, where he flips you away and now here you are in front of everyone?" the king asked.

Gabe wasn't sure what was going on, but from the king's speech he could tell that the king didn't know that Tamiko was his son.

And Gabriel Grealor was going to exploit that, the only problem being, was the Lycan Lord and the Lycan chief going to watch from a distance or would they come to Tamiko's defense like they always did?

"Yes, sire. I am remorseful for what had happened and I hope he accepts me. Please, let me work this out with him," Gabe pleaded and the Lycan Lord scoffed. Sadako was losing in his patience and the urge to burn down Grealor was intense.

However, he had to wait and see how this would happen.

"How do I know what you say is true? Does anyone here know that Tamiko is your mate? Do they acknowledge what you did to him and your apology to him? Are you sure you people feel the same about your outcast being your mate?" the king asked again.

King Zaffuto's patience was thinning and fast. Everything was making him want to rage and burn down everything, but he had to remind himself not to ruin this day because Tamiko was the one show that had brought him out here.

If he ruined the mating ceremony then he would have broken the promise she made to his son, which was something the Lycan King valued more than life itself. He loved his son, he adored Tamiko, and wouldn't dare to hurt him.

Intentionally or not.

"The entire realm knows of the Grealor outcast," Gabe said proudly and the wolves pushed themselves to the back of the possum. They knew this wasn't going to end well for Gabe.

He was admitting to harassing someone the king had taken a liking to, and that too when the king was nursing wounds that had been made by a werewolf. This wasn't the smartest move for Gabriel Grealor but he was too dumb to see it.

"Realm?... Th… The entire team? You mean to tell me that the entire realm watched you harass a poor boy and did nothing to save him from you? The entire realm fucked up that which was mine and you are here proudly settling it?" Zaffuto growled out.

"Yours?" Gabriel dared to ask the king before adding, "Is he your son?"

Gabe was being stupid and his people were already thinking the same of him. This was the worst thing he could have done and the fact that he was proud of it was insane on so many levels and someone needed to put a stop to it all.

'You have five seconds to leave this mating ball, Gabriel Grealor. Five seconds, or I swear on my dead mother that I will make your life a living hell. You do remember that daddy dearest is still in a wheelchair, right?' Tamiko warned Gabe in the mind link.

Gabe wasn't even the least bit bothered by it.

Gabe had watched the king get on edge and he was drunk on that expression, it was like he wanted to see for himself what the world looked like on this side of the realm and now that he was in Kawai, what better way to mess up the father and son than this, right?

'You won't do anything, Tamiko. You try shit and I tell your daddy dearest that you are his son. Think of what that will do to his reputation. Imagine the big bad king being vested by a mere werewolf,' Gabe warned and Tamiko let out a maniacal laugh loudly.
