The Fall of Datu Hagat

But at this moment when victory is already at hand, this precious chance slipped away!

He felt the nape of his neck suddenly turning cold, and it slowly scattered from his neck to his back, and towards his head.

He gradually felt dizzy... the tightly clutched spear at his hand loosened. It fell out of his hands!

Seeing that the enemy before him suddenly halted his movements, the Apkon hurriedly stood up and kicked Datu Hagat in his groin.

A detestable way of fighting, only this venomous Apkon dared to do so.

"You... Deceiving me until the end..." Datu Hagat with his weakening blurry eye uttered.

Arching his body to observe the fallen Datu below his feet he again mocked Datu Hagat, "What about it? You still lost Haha There is no honorable way or detestable way in a fight. All means to meet your desired end can be used regardless of how." Narrowing his brows as his face distorted to an ugly, wicked expression, the Apkon berated the Datu. "Isn't that what you taught me?" As he added.

At that moment, Datu Hagat realized what kind of monster he created...

someone must have darted him with a poison dart from a blowpipe. That must be the case why he suddenly felt weak all over, yet he felt a different kind of pain.

An excruciating pain, like all of his insides, is being plucked, boiled, and clutched. He stared at his hands and found that it was bulging!

Some visible green dots appeared, slowly scattering from the nape of his neck to his head and to his back. Most apparent at his hands...

He felt an indescribable torment churning inside of him.

He tried taking it in but unfortunately, the pain was too great as he blurted a wail, screaming how dreadful he currently felt. "Arghhh! You are too wicked. You don't have to do this... You could've simply beheaded me."

Laughing at his misfortune, the Apkon slumped down as he placed his mouth near his ears.

"Oh that... Killing you by a weapon is too much. You don't deserve to die valiantly Hahaha"

"But as a reward for almost defeating me, let me tell you a hint why all of this is happening..."

Standing back from arching his upper body, the Apkon played with the sand by repeatedly kicking it against the face of the sprawled Datu.

"Auspicious Clouds..." Then his voice rose, "Argus! that kid! ...You thought I wouldn't know?" The Apkon fuming in anger also kicked the face of the Datu which made the Datu grimace in pain.

His eyes were hit!

"Farewell... Datu. You have served me well." Turning his back against the convulsing Datu beneath his feet, the Apkon issued an order. "Take this old man and drown him at the sea! He doesn't deserve to die by a sword or any weapon..."

When his voice fell, the warriors hurriedly abide by his order. They tied the Datu's hands and feet with ropes and carried him towards the boat.

It took them less than a minute until all forces had gathered and boarded the boats to set sail, leaving behind the pile of corpses at the island.

But of course, little did they knew there are still two remaining survivors that witnessed the earlier scene. They saw how their Datu was mocked, humiliated, and was deceptively destroyed by this Wicked Apkon Amron.

Below the bushes, two warriors discussed and exclaimed the horror they witnessed.

"Our Datu Died... Datu Hagat is no more. What should we do now?" Asked the Other warrior to his companion.

"We... we should... we should quietly report this to Dayang Haya..." And the other warrior simply answered, still in disbelief of what had transpired.

"Remember! we have to safely return! They have to know!" he added.

But upon further contemplation, they realized that they are now stranded at the island, the Apkon had taken away their boats.

It took them a long time to gather their will and wits as they buried their deceased brothers and fellow warriors. It was the least they could do for them.

They never expected to be defeated like this. Among the hundred warriors they had, only the two of them remained.

...

At the Apkon Amron's boat when they reached the highest tides, the Apkon ordered to let this Datu taste a horrible death.

"Release him in the waters, wound him with shallow cuts to make sure he won't be able to escape."

"Understood, Apkon!"

Right after that, they all busied themselves as each of the warriors made a slash to the Datu's flesh, they even laughed and mocked him in succession.

Some of the more creative ones hit upon a good idea that in their opinion might make their Apkon pleased. "Why not cut off his dong. Imagine entering Sulad without your dong?! Phwuahahahat! Haha!"

And so, before being thrown at the sea, Datu Hagat experienced the most horrible and shameful moments of his life. His Weiner had been torn off! They even flashed it to him and used it to smash his face.

That's how cruel and ruthless the warriors ruled by this Apkon was.

He created a monster!

Yes, it is due to him that this monster was created... if he never taught the Apkon, perhaps different things may have been done. But it was too late for regrets now.

All he could do is whimper and cry and think of his beloved family and tribe that was left behind.

Until...

"Alright, we had fun! Now throw him to the sea, let him be food for the sharks! Hahaha"

Along with the boisterous laughter, Datu Hagat found himself falling to the cold waters of the sea as he thought of his sworn brother in guilt and shame...

"Perhaps... this is my retribution for betraying you... Brother."

Gargling as puddles of water escaped his mouth, his body continued to fall and the tides of the sea slapped him, covered him without mercy.

He drowned under the strong waves, he drowned under his greed for power! He now understood that it was useless. But was that all? Didn't he hunger for power to protect his tribe?

He realized how much of a fool he is... A tragic end for the Datu of Lumin's Tribe.

And that's how Datu Hagat met his end.

Done!
