CHAPTER 187
Wonder Woman battled head on with Darkseid, exchanging blow for blow. Left, right, and with an uppercut, she punched him into a building, pursuing him through the air as she continued with her series of blows.
He caught her fist mid attack as he turned over in the air, flinging her by her arm as she burst out the other side of the building. Darkseid chased after her but was suddenly cut off by laser blasts the moment he came out the building.
Looking above him he spotted Cyborg who flew around the air, still shooting at him. Darkseid flew after him but was abruptly stopped in his tracks by Wonder Woman's lasso which she used to throw him into a construction site
They pursued him into the construction site as metal beams crashed to the ground. A beam flew out the dust cloud and struck Cyborg in the air, when Darkseid suddenly emerged right in front of Wonder Woman, grabbing her by the neck as he dived her to the ground, driving her along the ground with trails behind as she struggled to free herself from his grip.
Darkseid pinned her to the ground with his knee pressing on her torso as his hands pushed hers against the ground, swiftly using the back of his fist to smack her across the face.
His eyes glowed menacingly as he severed her left arm with his Omega beams. She screamed in pain as blood gushed out of her severed limb.
"Remember what I said, I always make good on my word." He said with a wicked smirk tugged at the side of his lips. His eyes glowed crimson red as he aimed to finish the job by drilling through her eye sockets with his Omega beams.
Wonder Woman struggled to get Darkseid off her but he wouldn't budge. She stared into his soulless eyes and spat on his face, knowing this might be the end of her.
"Don't worry Amazon, your fellow heroes will be right behind." Darkseid said with a menacing growl as his Omega beams charged up.
Just as he was about to scorch through her eye sockets, red hot lasers hit him on his shoulder and he was forced off of her.
He looked up to see Superman hovering in the sky, gritting his teeth in anger. That instant, Flash returned to the scene and punched Darkseid with another sonic punch which almost knocked him off his feet but only ended up stumbling backwards until he regained his footing.
Cyborg shot Darkseid with a blast which packed quite a punch, unlike his previous attacks. Superman tore through the air at sonic speed and whacked Darkseid into an underground parking lot.
"I never thought I would say this but, I am glad you're okay." Flash said to Batman who was busy giving Wonder Woman the little first aid he could provide at the moment.
"What's our status?" Batman asked, ignoring Flash's comment as he focused more on the situation.
As Flash filled him in, Superman held Darkseid to the floor of the underground parking lot, giving him three heavy blows, then proceeded to laser him on the chest with his heat vision.
Darkseid let out a grunt as he shot his Omega beams at Superman who quickly got off him in an attempt to escape the beam's reach.
Flash ran through the parking lot then punched Darkseid across the face, canceling out the Omega beams that were locked-on and in chase of Superman.
Martian Manhunter appeared from beneath the ground as he materialized behind Darkseid, He shot Darkseid with his heat vision.
Darkseid turned around to grab him but his hand passed through the Martian. Superman landed an uppercut on Darkseid, lifted him off his feet as he speared him upward, smashing him through each floor in the parking lot, continuously bashing him through the concrete until they got out to the surface.
Darkseid used his elbow to strike Superman in the back, grabbing onto his cape as he aggressively whacked him on the ground over and over again, then rammed him into a building.
Flash ran circles around Darkseid, concentrating his lightning as he shot it at point blank range. The moment Darkseid had been waiting for since all the while Flash kept playing peekaboo, finally arrived.
Before he realized it, Darkseid grabbed hold of his arm, pulled him in, then crushed his knee.
*Aghhh!!!!*
Flash cried out in pain as Darkseid moved him to the side and crushed his other knee. Martian Manhunter rushed in, and with great speed Darkseid hurled Flash his way.
Martian Manhunter caught Flash in his arms when he suddenly let out a shrill scream as he collapsed and both bodies dropped to the ground. Darkseid's Omega beams made their way to his back and struck his back the moment he caught Flash.
Exiting the debris and rubbles, Superman got even angrier upon witnessing the aftermath of what had happened, and charged through the air with rage in his eyes. Darkseid weaved to the side in a quick motion as Superman completely missed his target.
He caught him by his cape as he yanked Superman back, then smacked him through a short distance in the air as Cyborg attacked Darkseid from behind.
Darkseid viciously hunted him through the skies, dodging his blasts as he closed in on him. He caught Cyborg and lifted him up to the sky like some sacrifice as Superman darted at him, trying to stop him from completing what he was about to do.
Before he could get to him, Darkseid ripped apart Cyborg's upper body from his lower half, hurling his lower half at Superman.

[Tom Hendricks POV]
I got to the heart of the action about twenty minutes earlier, and within the past ten, I've watched Darkseid violently take down most of the League members.
I currently had the best seat in the city, watching them fight from way up in the night sky. Superman engaged Darkseid, while Batman carried the beaten heroes to a presumably safe zone, one after the other.
He shot his grapple hook into the walls of a building and zipped himself into the air, then hurled explosives at Darkseid as he swung past him.
The explosion didn't seem to phase Darkseid but Superman took advantage of it and struck him with all his might. "That's some good teamwork right there." I muttered as I remained a spectator to their battle.
I could probably drop into the fight and help take down Darkseid, but it would seem like poking my nose in hero business, we all know how that turned out the last time I did.
Call it pride or whatever you might, but I demand an invitation. Didn't know how I was going to get one though, so I decided to wait until the heroes were probably killed off or mortally wounded by Darkseid.
"Sir, you have an unread text message from Rachel." Gwen informed me. "At a time like this?" I muttered as it seemed illogical for her to send me a text when the world might get plunged into eternal suffering.
Technically this fight might lead to the end of our world if we were to lose, I guess sending a goodbye text or a love message wouldn't be too absurd.
I clicked on my earpiece and the message displayed on my now visible visor. [Hey Tommy, I know it's not the ideal time to send a text and your phone might be elsewhere. But if you're seeing this, please help humanity win this battle. I know you have the power to save our world, I've seen it, so please help us win even if you have to fight alongside the heroes.
Although I know you probably wouldn't, so please just put an end to all this already…]
I canceled the text there, I didn't feel like reading any further. I guess I have to drop in, I am already itching to clash against the guy who has sent most of the League members near their death beds. I guess it wouldn't be fair to call him the grinch because he didn't only steal Christmas, he literally destroyed it.
Well, I gotta make my way into my 1V1 sooner than later.

Batman shot his grapple hook at a building and zipped through the air once more, but unfortunately for him the building structures in the area had been weakened and the hook pulled out the wall just as he had reached for something in his utility.
Darkseid, seeing that Batman had lost his balance mid air, intensified the force of his Omega beams and shot at him. Batman quickly hurled some exploding batarang at them but they slipped through the explosion, headed for him.
Batman shot another grapple hook to change his position but the beams followed him and were about hitting him.
"Agghhhh"
Superman groaned in pain as he intercepted, quickly making his way in front of Batman and got hit in the chest with the beams, forcefully sending him to the ground, unconscious.
"Are you sure you can win against me? You know what I am. You know the doubt in your heart. You so-called heroes are false gods, all of you. And when people stop believing in you, you'll shatter like glass." Darkseid said to Batman as his Omega beams glowed with ominous energy, promising destruction.
"Don't think you've won yet. Even if you kill us, there are others who will carry on our will and will eventually bring you down." Batman replied as he stood to his feet, maintaining his stoic demeanor even at the face of death. He found himself in an open space, the buildings had been destroyed and there was nothing he could use to tank the beam.
"Let them try." Darkseid responded as he released his Omega beams right at Batman, and with no hope of avoiding the attack.
Batman looked Darkseid in the eyes as he watched the beam make its way to him, just as it was about making contact and disintegrating him to ashes, Ace appeared right in front of him.
The beam seemed to hit him right on his forehead but got dispersed both ways, Batman's eyes widened as they hit the ground behind them and exploded.
"Guess I'm right on time." Ace said with a smug tone as a smirk tugged to the side of his lips beneath his mask.
