Surviving Against The Monsters

"Huh ? Wha... Asaki ?!"

The man's wounds kept solidifying as long as Celia held his hand, the cuts and bruises covering his pale skin slowly stretching in each other's direction to close by themselves.

Celia couldn't believe her own eyes, violently widening as Asaki's limbs started to move once again, his bones and muscles retaking shape again. The burning flow of energy which was crossing the Aurora's body kept filling the survivor's, quickly, and dangerously, emptying whatever stack Celia possibly had...

... Not that she actually cared, her body violently shaking because of her sobs as a wide smile painted across her face, filled by hope and disbelief.

"Asaki !! Oh, lords... He's... He's alive..."

Laughs and cries kept strangely mixing within the girl's mind, the burning sensation keeping painfully pounding inside her chest, as her hand also started to make her grimace from pain.

With the other one, Celia started to shake the man, barely containing her tears from falling on his wounded body, some even directly landing onto his wounds.

"Please awake... Oh lords, have pity of h- Uughhh !!!"

A sudden moan of pain elevated from the Aurora's throat, instantly stopping shaking Asaki's body, grabbing instead her torso with her free hand.

A wave of pain was emerging within her solar plexus, sending violent signals of pain throughout her entire body, something strangely interfering with the whatever could be transfer of energy.

... Another warm energy suddenly pulsing with power, directly within Asaki's body, crossing his veins and so the one connected to Celia in no time, pushing away her energy.

"Aaaarrggh..."

Violent coughs invaded once again the Aurora's mouth, desperately trying to keep holding her friend's hand as an unbearable pain invaded her whole body, directly coming from the same hand...

"N-no... Why...??"

A few seconds later, at the verge of fainting, the girl angrily released the man's hand, violently shaking of fear and pain as she miserably tried to catch her breath again. Before her eyes, still laid the man's body, unconscious.

'No... no... I need to continue...'

But each time Celia tried to hold a part of him once again, she always got wounded by another sudden charge of energy, Asaki now, even violently convulsing onto the ground, as strange and transparent forms suddenly started to appear above his unhealed wounds.

"C-Crystals...?"

The white forms kept growing, taking diverse forms, on Asaki's body ; The few scarlet red wounds beneath it quickly starting to... Strangely change color too.

Come to think about it... Something felt wrong about the creature and Asaki...

Indeed, Celia precisely reminded of a creature which foots, and beneath in general, covered by fresh blood just after it had landed. And yet...

Asaki almost had not a single external wounds, some one of his leg's bones simply shattered into pieces, as much as his arm of the same side, surely broken because of the shockwave.

And about his organs, Celia couldn't tell a thing, not able to see through his body. But now that she was simply looking at him, one thing was clear, no, two actually !

Asaki was alive, and breathing.

°°°

During multiple minutes, the man's body kept violently convulsing onto the ground, transparent crystals growing from it and shattering minutes later following the wound's healing process.

Some wounds however, still didn't heal, the small and unimportant cuts and contusions left not even shaking a little, while some others, sometimes less important, kept healing.

By chance, the most important wounds seemed to heal by themselves, not included into this strange selection.

But still... Every wound which seemed to have the honor to receive one of the girl's tears kept healing at an unusual speed, taking a few minutes for what would've taken hours, and sometimes days.

"Why is he..."

But something kept bothering Celia, whose empty eyes locked onto the man's forehead, burning and red like the rest of his face, and even torso. Suddenly filled by panic once again, the girl hurried to try everything she could to keep him from burning, also afraid about something else...

The three creatures from earlier, keeping observing her from the distance ; their orange and sparking eyes dangerously shining within the black smoke as wrath and violence filled them.

About the rest of their bodies... It was unluckily hidden from the Aurora's eyes, the black smoke still trapping the two survivors within its untouchable walls.

However, the creature's growling could still be heard, wide and sadistic smiles surely drew across their faces, ready to achieve the weakened Aurora and unconscious man.

'It doesn't smell that good for us...'

Weakly, and barely containing her body from shaking by fear and tiredness, Celia slowly moved away Asaki's body, clumsily dressing between the orange eyes and the man.

Another growl filled the street, a couple of orange eyes awkwardly widening, their owner slowly approaching the Aurora while thunderously growling.

"Shi... Go away !! Crap..."

Around them, also started to approach two others couples of orange eyes, the others two coming from behind Celia, slowly about to reach Asaki.

"Away..."

The tired eyes of the Aurora slowly started to awaking once again, their orange color also shining in the middle of the smoke, vividly looking for any weapon near her position.

Compared to the Minotaur, or even Flesh, the creatures seemed to be... Quite small.

And...

There was absolutely no way that the girl would let the man die now, her empty eyes locking in his direction once again, filled by a slight, but horrific feeling.

'I'll save him...'

Now back to the first pair of orange eyes dressing before her, the Aurora hardly positioned herself into a fighting stance, painful waves of energy still pounding within her chest because of the exchange with Asaki.

"Come fight me ugly bastard..."

And as the two were about to jump on each other, and fight til the death, a thunderous and deafening noise suddenly shook the entire city, some of the windows near the Aurora instantly breaking because of the shockwave.
