Odd Jobs Sparring Tournament Part 3

Shinatsu vs Chifuyu begins with both of them charging at each other from the get-go, unlike the other matches when only one initiated the fight. Shinatsu opens with an upward slash that bursts through Chifuyu's defense, blowing his arms upwards. But he quickly recovers, getting low while doing a 180-degree spin to land a hit. She parries it and lands a downward slash on his shoulder. Chifuyu trips her which causes her to stumble and he gets a slash across her back. Not letting up, he follows Shinatsu who's trying to gain some space. She continues to run and they clash swords all around the yard. The two have not taken their eyes off the other, focused on one-upping their opponent, to the point where they don't notice an elevated step and start stumbling. Nevertheless, their swords continue to clash even when they're on the verge of falling to the ground. Chifuyu falls for Shinatsu's feint and gets hit on the knee. Before he trips over, he goes for a desperate swing that Shinatsu barely limbos her head under. Able to recover, Chifuyu does a flip on one hand to land back on his feet.

"I'm gonna start getting flashy." His opponent leads 2 to 1, yet this doesn't bother him. Disregarding his fundamental pose, Chifuyu intends to have some fun with this match. He begins twirling the wooden sword across his arm and around his body. These are moves Shoyo couldn't help but teach him.

"Show off."

Shinatsu pushes him laying on a fury of attacks, but not a single one gets through with Chifuyu blocking them all while flashily spinning his sword about him. Chifuyu smiles with excitement, and so too does Shinatsu. Neither of them is getting overwhelmed. But the slightest opening will lead to a guaranteed hit. She backs away to see if she can kill Chifuyu's momentum, but he unexpectedly launches his sword which hits Shinatsu right on the forehead.

"Hey! Is that allowed?"

"Uh.. Sure is!" Kagura goes along with it, a hit is a hit.

"Hahahahahahahahaha!!" Chifuyu openly mocks his opponent with no shame.

"Tch. So much for being flashy. Good luck getting this back though." Shinatsu picks up his sword with a smug grin.

Less than a minute remains. Chifuyu has to get his weapon back so he takes the offensive. Shinatsu tosses the second sword in the air with a plan in mind. However, that plan would no longer matter. Chifuyu jumps on her head and leaps off of it catching the blade before it gets too high in the air.

"Why didn't I expect that.."

Chifuyu deflects Shinatsu's attack mid-air and lands in a crouched position. He uses the momentum to launch back up deflecting her next slash. The final rally ensues. Chifuyu had a hunch, and it was proved correct with this spar.

'I knew it. The two of us are evenly matched.'

Ducking under his attack, Shinatsu digs into the ground grabbing dirt which she throws at Chifuyu.

"Seriously? Pocket dirt?"

A swift kick is delivered pushing him several meters away. As he tries to clear the dirt away, another kick sends him flying into the pool. Shinatsu jumps in after him landing an underwater jab, concluding the match.

"She got him, right?"

"Y-Yeah."

"The winner is Shinatsu!"

"Woooooooo!"

"That was an intense fight."

"She whooped your ass, Chifuyu!"

The victor emerges back up to the surface. A few seconds later, the loser shoots up flailing his arms in a frenzy.

"Help! I can't swim!"

"Whaaaat?!" A few of them react in unison.

"Ah, shit." Shinatsu tosses her sword and goes to help Chifuyu.

Meanwhile, Diego is making fun of the guy who's in a life-or-death predicament, "Hahaha, you still can't swim?!"

Nailah doesn't know what to say as she continues to watch, 'These kids sure are wild… Though, I guess we weren't different.' She smiles for just a moment.

Shinatsu's out of breath after having to pull Chifuyu out of the pool.

"I can't believe you can't swim."

"Cough… Is it that surprising?"

"A little. I need a break before the final round."

"Take as much time as you need," Kagura is very accommodating.

"I won, Chifuyu. That means I'm stronger."

"Teh. I want a rematch. Next time no sneaky tricks."

"Alright. Let's get this over with."

"Says the person who made us wait for an hour."

"I'll announce the start of the final match if you guys don't mind."

"Of course, Ms. Nailah. Go right ahead."

"Avenge me, Kagura!"

"Oi."

"We have Kagura Mikase vs Shinatsu Boreas for the Odd Jobs Sparring Tournament finals. Let's make some noise everybody."

"Woooooooo!" They all cheer, whistle, and clap to hype up the last fight.

Kagura's surprised Nailah's getting somewhat into it, "That was pretty good."

"Now then, 3… 2… 1… Begin."
