19 Who is He?

After Connor was done explaining, Carmen spoke, "Wow, that's a lot. You sure you wanna stay there"? She asked Connor.

"I've told you this before, I have to do this. I love my pack, but I need to get out of there." Connor groaned.

"And if Dad found out, they'd call you back". Knowingly Carmen sighed. "Alright, well what can I help you with? I know some of the pack's history but resurrection isn't something I'm well versed with". Carmen shrugged I've the phone.

"What about your girlfriend? Isn't she a witch? Maybe she knows something?" Connor begged.

"You want me to involve Miranda in this"? Carmen scoffed.

"Just for information! Please"! Connor begged.

"Okay… I'll ask her. But, I can't promise anything. She has been pissed at her Coven enough already." Carmen sighed. "Do you want me to ask about this dude as well"? Carmen asked.

"Yes". Connor nodded vigorously, even though he knew Carmen won't be able to see him. "I'll find out his name and text it to you ASAP". He added.

"Just hope that Dad doesn't find out what you're up to, or you're coming straight home". Carmen scoffed.

"I know… please don't tell him". Sheepishly, Connor begged his sister. "I love you". He added.

"Love you too." Carmen rolled her eyes on the other side of the phone and hung up.

Next day he traced Nathaniel only to end up in front of the class of director incharge, Professor Hayden Rushmore. He tried to spot Nathaniel in the crowded class from outside, but eventually failed. He hid himself a little bit as soon as the class got over. Once he spotted Nathaniel coming out of the class, he approached him, only to bump into someone. "Sorry," Connor apologized immediately, until he saw whom he ran into. "Clarice?"

"Connor?" Clarice was amused. "What are you doing here"?

"I am looking for a friend… what are you doing here"? Connor asked.

"Classes?" Clarice shrugged.

"Are you alright though?" Connor clarified. "Should you be back here"?

"I have to try"? Clarice shrugged, keeping a straight face. "What happened to Nick, I can't let that affect me". Clarice took a deep breath after her declaration. Meanwhile Connor looked around to see if he could still catch up with Nathaniel at this point. Not only was his scent gone, but also he was nowhere to be seen.

After a while, Claire noticed Connor fumbling gaze, "You really are looking for someone aren't you?" She seemed amused.

"Yeah… I told you that." Connor tilted his head, puzzled by Clarice's amusement. "Did you think I was lying?" He frowned.

Clarice chuckled and let out a soft, "No. I wasn't." She retained her smile which confused Connor further. "But I think you should get going now, if you wanna catch…your friend?" She shrugged.

"Right. It was nice to see you" Connor declared in a hurry and ran.

He looked around a while before he found Nathaniel in the library itself, which was odd since it was where Connor was mostly found. "I saw you were following me"? Nathaniel shrugged as soon as Connor approached him. "You have something you wanna say to me?" He raised an eyebrow.

Connor gulped before declaring, "I have questions for you."

"Oh really, like what?" Nathaniel tilted his head in a coy manner.

"Like who was that strange man from earlier"? Connor asked.

"Does it matter?" Asked Nathaniel. "All you need to know is that you need to avoid him". Nathaniel shrugged.

"So?" Connor scoffed. "How can I avoid something if I don't know what I am avoiding? Last time I checked he found us". Connor shrugged.

"Well, he won't come here looking for you on purpose, he wants me". Nathaniel huffed.

"Right, because of your history." Connor nodded. "Can I at least get his name"?

Nathaniel was quiet for a moment, pondering on whether or not telling this young man was the right move or not. "Conrad Vance Wyman." He declared, keeping a straight face, keeping an eye on Connor's reaction. The name didn't affect Connor, as of course he had no idea what that name meant.

"And let me guess, he is a witch?" Connor asked.

"A warlock." Nathaniel corrected him. "Men are called warlocks".

"Right, I don't have many ideas about them". Connor nodded.

"I can tell." Nathaniel smirked. "In here, you will find many creatures and plenty of witches and warlocks."

"Really?" Connor was amused. He was still reluctant to trust Nathaniel, but he was willing to try.

"Yeah, this land where the Rushmore university stands, it used to be home of a giant coven of witches." Nathaniel scoffed. "This place has a very rich history for humans to know."

"And you know them because of your past with…Conrad?" Asked Connor.

"Our history is another twist in the history of this place. If you have time…." Nathaniel trailed off.

With an excited smirk, "I'd like to know" He nodded.
